This.

I looked at my old posts the other day and I can't believe how against Sam I was, well I can admit when I am wrong, a big THANKYOU to Sam for keeping my club in the top league.

how anyone could not see that sam was the only proper option is beyond me.

The truly scary thing is that some people still can't!

He is certainly very different from the picture I had painted for me by certain members of the media. Sam is nobody's fool and he is a gent to boot.

So Sam has a few personal issues to sort out, I'm sure we all new that.

Did sam not say he would stay, even if we had gone down.

I'm sure I read he got a bonus for keeping us up. you would have thought so.

I'm pretty sure there would have been other clauses discussed regarding the outcome of this season before he signed.

To me it is just surely a case of negotiation. (where have I heard that one lately) You would expect sam to get the best deal he can. (he's only human, I think)

I can see the major point being the funding in the transfer market, not much has changed since the turn of the year, so he knew things where going to be tight.

He may well have come across a few players outside the current budget, and feels with a little bit extra cash it would justify the risk, no harm in that, especially if it brings the possibility of few extra places in the league standings, an outside chance of a top 6-7 finish and good sell on return.

It's what he's paid to do after all.

No way, he might have been interested in the past, but not now. He wouldn't walk out on a project this early and knew all along how tight resources would be.

NOTHING surprises me in todays world of Football.

Hmm. I don't expect Sam to jump ship, but I am sure every single time a position comes available where there is a bigger transfer budget Sam will surreptitiously throw his hat in the ring.

This is going to be a ball ache. He won't let us down - he is a professional - but clearly he feels to make an impression you need a budget. Can't really blame him.

I read your post and then immediately thought of Roque. I was certain he'd stay at the club - it seemed that the only thing that mattered to him was first team football and being injury free. Yet, after a season plagued by injury at a club where, when fit, he is a virtual certainty to be in the starting XI, he's out in the press clamouring for a move every other week.

You're right, nothing surprises me in football, but I still reckon it's unlikely. I think this is a bit of a re-hash of Sam being interested in the job back when Keane resigned.

What does it say JAL?

Here goes the printed version,

Headline...... Allardyce tempted by Black Cats cash

Sam Allardyce's interest in the Sunderland job proves his frustration at having to shop for bargains for Blackburn, just like he did at Bolton.I understand chairman Niall Quinn took a call alerting him to Allardyce's interest in the job before Steve Bruces appointment. Allardyce hoped that his scrimping and saving days were behind him when he was named Newcastle boss. Now Blackburn want him to repeat his Reebok magic. By comparison Sunderlands extensive war chest was tempting. END.

Thats it word for word.

Bullsh!t - Sam knew exactly what job he was taking on and knew exactly the resources available - he isnt stupid. He has a much stronger squad that Bruce does already - they wont overtake us.
