gav just admit you hate having Sam in charge of blackburn rovers FFS. u, waggy and trying to make a friend Tugay for england (who said a couple of days ago no french forwards have made it in the prem) are always trying to jump on Sam.

Sam deserves a pat on the back and any real Blackburn Rovers Fan will have the most up respect for what sam has done at the club up to now.

Gaz... i think you need to get over yourself!

I’ve just been reading what gav actually wrote. you might want to read it again... SLOWLY.

GAV is lauding the manager for his transfer market moves?? Not having a go at him??

I can’t see anywhere on this thread where he’s said anything against the manager that should/ would upset anyone??

if you think he has.... please enlighten me.

unfortunately... i have not read through entire 170 or so pages, of this thread!

if you have maybe..... you need to find yourself a girlfriend!

if you havent got a girlfriend... maybe ask thenodrog... if he is free tonight.... you've obviously got lots in common... cos he's spouting the same rubbish as you have!

So Big Sams thought the achievement last year was better than he originally thought!!

I agree, the club was in freefall, we had just got rid of the clown who was Ince, then came the transfer window, he brought in players to tighten things up, then lost Santa Cruz and Emerton who probably our best player last season up to getting injured, then we had the injuries to Grella and Dunn!!

Yes a fine achievemnet and the people who are still knocking the big fella, come on and get behind him, he has Earned your support!!

I take it you're throwing insults to divert off into an argument rather than stick to the discussion and enlighten me!

(why would I lie, I have got better things to do may I till you little boy)

- another interesting phrase and insult....but the thing is you're proving you don't have many better things to do! haha.

most people know on here he and waggy are the 1st to have a pop at him as well -

so... you are now speaking on behalf of 'most people' ????

believe me, gaz, I'd be worried if anyone chose you as a spokesman!

I am happly married also thanks Zaccaius

I'm sorry.... please pass on my regards to your wife.... (if you can tear yourself away from brfcs.com!)

 Quality!

Interesting to see Sam says in that article that he only paid £1million for Dioufy, if that is true then I think he has done pretty well there.

Next season is the key, and we will find out very soon where we will finish in the table. Replacing our strikers are the key to this transfer window, and we need to find a striker that will guarentee you around 15 goals a season.

Whilst I’m not convinced Sam is the man for Blackburn Rovers, especially after some of the pathetic performances we had to endure towards the end of the season. I must admit to being impressed with the way he’s gone about his business so far in the transfer market.

Its plain for everyone to see that JW has put the shackles on Sam’s spending, despite bringing in large amounts of transfer money so far, and I don’t blame JW for that. But Sam has added experience and numbers to our squad, freshened things up a bit and things seem to be going well.

We need a striker, surely the hardest position to fill successfully, will be interesting to see who he gets, because that position could be the difference between success and failure this season.

Over to you Sam.

The post that caused a storm........

still think I make a valid point with regards to Sams transfer dealings thus far, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SAM.

At the risk of being contraversial and talking about the article, Sam's right - it's a heck of an achievement.

The money difference is a massive factor and whilst money is no guarentee of success, the more you throw about, the more likely some of the moves will work. When you factor in the injuries as well, money or not, it'd hamper any squad. (Interestingly he doesn't complain about Grella being injured.) Just shows how important it is for us to have an astute manager in the transfer market. Surely this must be one of the key considerations for any rovers manager.

Also interesting he singles out Andrews for praise - regardless of how good people think he is - he did contribute to a team in which he'd jumped 2 divisions to be a part of. The fact that Sam orchestrated our survival with the likes of Andrews, sometimes out of position, a centre half playing up front as well as others often being shifted around makes it all the more remarkable. Sam has every right to look back pleased.

It'll be really interesting to see what Sam does next season - given the success of Diouf and Givet, the bar has been set high in terms of what is expected of players we bring in. It should be exciting.

Just read the story on the offy site about Sam throwing down the gauntlet to Gallagher.

Sam's man-management style is clearly very slick and those are exactly the words that Gallagher will be wanting to hear right now.

Good on yer Sam. Gallagher's career has definitely lost momentum over the last few years – a victim of circumstances – but handing him a psychological boost like that could just be the ticket and I hope we see him march on this season.

Over to you then, Paul...

In what way is he the victim of circumstances? The circumstances that he's been handed any number of chances and failed to take any of them? You won't see him march anywher other than out of our club, I hope.

Gallagher is technically a very gifted player, he is reasonably quick, good both on and off the ball, capable of scoring goals and providing assists, now in my opinion you are 2/3 the way there, sometimes, with good man management and psychology, you can bring out the other third!!

Ability wise, I cant think of many players at the club now who are better, he just has to apply it better and have that belief!!

Sam is trying here to give him that belief!!

And you think others haven't tried. Mark Hughes was not bad at man management - he gave him a new contract - encouragement enough I would have thought but Gallagher made no effort to learn the work ethic required for premiership football. I don't care about how technically gifted he is if he can't realise that success is not just about natural talent. It's also about very hard work. Champions don't get where they are just by having talent - they work at it too. Llok at the difference in Andy Murray today from 2 or 3 years ago. Yes, he didn't win this time but you can see progress each year. I've seen no progress and indeed a definite backward movement in gallagher. He needs no more chances - he just needs to go.

Im afraid Gally will be nothing more than a championship player Mrs G. He doesnt look like he is up for the rigours and toughness of the Epl. He has been given too many chances, and failed each time. Where do you draw the line?

Comes down to personal chemistry plus desperation perhaps. How long has Gally's contract got left?

One brilliant man manager might not work with Gally- another might.

However, nothing I have seen of Gally tells me he has a footballing brain on the park never mind what goes on in it off the park nor how naturally gifted he might be. He invariably picks a wrong option when he is in posession of the ball.
