Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't our head of scouting left? Should Sam only look up Wikipedia or youtube for his signings?

Waggy can't resist his obligatory dig at Sam, at least once a week.

He could try what waggy does nowadays and watch his football and select new signings through the bottom of a glass.

Talking of scouting expertise ........... if waggy had his way we'd have had the great Bobby Zamora leading us from the front for the past 4 years or so. Thats right isn't it waggy? :P

Just think if the worst happened and Sam lost at home to the dingles trying to playing hoofball & Rovers went 13 games without a win starting in October. Sam would get sacked and Waggy could gloat sanctimoniously and endlessly, over and over and over again about how right he was all along!

 just like certian members have been doing about ince,no i'd never go that way.i'm happy watching from the sidelines, watching him try and sign lower league footballers from abroad,he's just ignored that we need a midfield playmaker, the balls going to be in the air,i tell you hoofball is the way forward

The contrast with this time last year could not be greater.

By late July everything I heard leaking out was apocalyptically bad- training routines awful, fitness declining, staff arrogant clueless dinosaurs and training camp was odd to say the least (did not find out what until much later and probably still only know a fraction).

Now, the noises coming out from all sources are training is fantastic, preparation is brilliant, players individually feel they are being given every possible support, team spirit fantastic.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm correct here, but is it not the case that with only 16 days to go to the start of the season we have:

No first team coach

No Chief Scout

No Academy Manager (That one admittedly long overdue)

Hardly the model of organisation that you're putting forward.

Not ideal, but I would be more concerned if we had someone less experienced managing us. However, there are some important roles which need filling asap, so hopefully we will hear some positive news soon.

But we are going into the last 16 days of pre-season with a highly motivated and very impressed bunch of players with pre-season preparations which is the diametric opposite to this time last year.

That surely has to be the crucial difference.

We defo need to sort our backroom staff out. Sam is correctly focussing more on getting new players in, but we do need some experience in terms of a coach. In the early and mid 90's there were many teams, who had a manager be the coach as well. Times certainly have changed. Did our physio also not leave?

It's a point but I'd rather:

- We had a quality first team coach even if it takes time.

- Although the Chief Scout is a key post the network will still be in place and agents almost make them superfluous

- I'd wait a year and get an excellent Academy manager paying whatever we had to after the last few years.

Ah yes...............but we have to be cynical about the spin emerging from Ewood. This is what we were reading early last season:

"Paul's been great. He has taken a lot of flak when the players should have taken it. "

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2010001.ece

and:

"Was the dressing-room mutinous? Nelsen scoffed at the suggestion. “No player here would complain about the Gaffer’s man-management. If you make a mistake he’ll let you know but will also put an arm around you when you need it.

"Everyone knows Paul Ince is going to be a success as a manager. He’s the same as Sparky [Mark Hughes]. The winning mentality is ingrained in them.”

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...a-Football.html

and:

"I've been in this sort of situation before, both here and at Birmingham City in the season we went down, and you could sense unhappiness around the place then," Dunn said. "The strange thing now is that we are also in a difficult place but the team spirit here is really good." Nelsen insisted: "No player here would complain about his man-management. He is a great communicator and a winner, an absolute winner."

 WE DON'T NEED A CHIEF SCOUT,JUST LET OTHER TEAMS FIND THE PLAYERS AND JUMP IN :o

Waggy, could I ask a genuine question, this is not a dig by any means.

In my opinion the players Sam is bringing in seem to be able to play some football, if the football we play next season is not what you'd expect from one of Sams teams and is a success would you swallow your pride and come back to Ewood or is your derision of Sam so strong that you literally wont come back till he's gone?

I would hope you'd give in, no point in letting pride getting the way of enjoyment.

 nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see rovers heading for europe, european trips are the best.but i will never go to ewood whilst lardarse is in charge, despise the guy to much ;)

OK, my turn. Why?

You're wasting your time. For my money this guy no longer supports Rovers and is just on a wind up. Probably had a bad experience with a moustache as a kid.
