S15 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see rovers heading for europe, european trips are the best.but i will never go to ewood whilst lardarse is in charge, despise the guy to much Sorry but I must ask you, are you an adult? Because if you are, and you despise a human being through no other reason than football, then you really are a sad, bitter little man, who is a bad example to anyone you might be a peer to. I hope to god you are a petulant teenager who will soon grow up.

JAL Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I'm not entirely sure if I'm correct here, but is it not the case that with only 16 days to go to the start of the season we have: No first team coach No Chief Scout No Academy Manager (That one admittedly long overdue) Hardly the model of organisation that you're putting forward. Take your point Revidge, but does it not show up the fact that the previous academy manager was so poor that Rovers dont miss him along with the chief scout Barry 'the non league scouser' Whitbread either. The first team do have a coach in Neil Macdonald do they not, surely there will be somebody helping the guy so the ones that have gone arent exactly great losses are they ?
thenodrog Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 But we are going into the last 16 days of pre-season with a highly motivated and very impressed bunch of players with pre-season preparations which is the diametric opposite to this time last year. That surely has to be the crucial difference. Upward curve v downward curve I think Philip.
thenodrog Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 OK, my turn. Why? Painted himself into a corner as I said would happen. Truth is waggy I suspect that you could not stand the p1ss takes from your mates and on here. And you know that the law of averages means that you'll only have another 12-18 months of Sam to endure before he is lured away by a more ambitious / better / richer club.

You seem to love the Rovers but hate their success. Why would you spend hundreds of pounds handing money to airlines and foreign football clubs to roar the boys on, but not do as the Rovers would much prefer you to do and spend half that amount with the club you profess to support? And what war crime is SA allegedly guilty of? Was he in Rwanda? Darfur? Treblinka? Anything less than that allegation and your hermit time in the desert is just cutting your nose off to spite Rovers' face. If the far from proven backhander allegations are the root of your expedition into the Sinai then following football on the Continent seems a strange form of penance for the absolution you really crave. When Satan showed Jesus the lands he could own, the Redeemer kinda had a reason to say No to Temptation. Not sure you have quite the same justification. Come back. The Promised Land awaits.
American Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 He has a thing about the alleged illegal transfer dealings that makes him not trust the man. Kind of like how some people didn't want Bellamy here because he had been arrested before.....
Kelbo Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Personally, I hated Sam at Bolton, why, because he was at Bolton, I hated Ternant, because he was at Burnley!1 But one Ternant statement sticks out in my mind, you cant race a ferrari with a mini (or something along those lines) Sam realised this last year and could only work with what he had got. Lets assess what the fella has done! 1. he kept us in the premiership 2. has rid us of lots of deadwood and released capital on wages! 3. said we needed younger players and vibrancy 4. brought in NZonzi, Hoilett, Van Heerden, Di Santo and the young Croat (subject to work permit) and, despite peoples thoughts, appears to be favouring a 442 system with width and pace! Give the guy some credit, he is going to show the prem he is more than a one trick pony!! Waggy, are you listening!
67splitscreen Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I hope your right Kelbo. My neck is not as flexible as it used to be.
Kelbo Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I hope your right Kelbo. My neck is not as flexible as it used to be. Me too splitscreen, I love total football as well!! And I am older than You, cant afford a neckbrace
Amo Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I don't expect Sam to renounce his direct style of football. But if he can shake the play up now and then, and appropriate us a Plan B, I'll be more than happy.

Majiball Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Good to see Sam coming out and saying youth is what we need and he's prepared to gamble on it. Sam Speaks
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Good to see Sam coming out and saying youth is what we need and he's prepared to gamble on it. Sam Speaks Its the best policy to take really when you consider who our owners are. Either bring in and develop youth players and sell them for a big profit or bring in some cheap unknowns and sell for a profit. Its all about resale value.
waggy Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 WITH LARDARSE SAYING THE SPENDING IS OVER,we are without a decent ball player in midfield,grella/dunn/reid cannot be relied on.virtually every player signed is big,the midfield will be bypassed ,its going to be bolton mk2

magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Allardyce has done great this window. If thats it then id be more then happy. The signings he's made are exactly the sort we required, barring a Tugay replacement which, lets face it there are hardly that many of. We needed a Roque replacement more then a Tugay one so to get Kalinic and Di Santo is brilliant. Anyone who has any complaints about Allardyce's purchases should be reminded of where we were a) under Ince and b ) at the end of May.

Admittedly I haven't seen either of the first two but I hardly need to do to know that they will be a different kettle of fish to the latter two.
Sparky Marky Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Yes, Ince well and truly screwed us up. Heard him pontificating this morning on how Wolves can stop up this season if this and that happens.....zzzzz...what a cock.
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Pauls not doing his mystic meg impersonation there again is he???? Don't suppose you've got a link???

Admittedly I haven't seen either of the first two but I hardly need to do to know that they will be a different kettle of fish to the latter two. If the yardstick by which Allardyce is measured is Ince, then he's going to get an easy ride indeed. Hughes had far less experience as a manager than Sam, but is Sam buying much better than he did? That's at least the standard for me.
