Manc Rover Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I would be happy to hear what he is saying if you can enlighten us please OK, here's a brief overview.. On Kalinic - said "to rovers fans out there, dont expect to see him straight away - it will be at least 4 or 5 games to get him up to speed." On any more transfers - said "we've no money at the moment." oh dear! Raved on about Pedersen last night and said he would pick the side Friday based on injuries etc. Said Reid and Bert are a few weeks away. Spent quite a lot of time moaning about the price of players/wages etc but didnt seem to be aiming his frustration at Rovers. Sounded to me like he knows the score with our finances.

gazsimm Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 sam has just said on talk sport he has spent his budget. Looks like thats it unless we sell someone.
gbax Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I would be happy to hear what he is saying if you can enlighten us please He said no more cash! Nikola Kalinic is not for the first half of season! Dunn, Reid and Grella not ready for a while. Not ruled out Nelson and Samba for Sat. Wanted Scotland to win, but glad Morten took his goals well. And he bigged up his involvement with the development of Milner!
AggyBlue Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Nikola Kalinic is not for the first half of season! Dunn, Reid and Grella not ready for a while. Oh dear, it could be a slow start to the season, we could be playing catch up along with Bumley.
Hughesy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 OK, here's a brief overview.. On Kalinic - said "to rovers fans out there, dont expect to see him straight away - it will be at least 4 or 5 games to get him up to speed." Nikola Kalinic is not for the first half of season! Mind games boys and girls - dont be suprised to see Samba, Nelsen and maybe Dunn on saturday.

waggy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 actually she cant speak highly enough of him as a person
Dunnfc Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 The interview on TalkSport for those that missed it http://www.talksport.net/index.asp?id=1076...c=&t=#media
tonygreenbank Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Thanks for that Dunny. The one standout comment was that Kalinic will not feature for the first 5-6 games due to him not being match ready. Cant decide whether this is a smokescreen or making sure that he sees the English game and slowly assimilates into it. He says that there is no more budget presumably until he can move on other players. Found it odd that he wanted to reduce the age of the squad and yet he went for Salgado.
Big Fat Sam Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 With Benni and Roberts we have a partnership that has shown much promise before, Di Santo coming off the bench since he's more acclimatised, means we can be patient and careful with the introduction of our young hopeful and when you can do that he'll be up to speed quicker than dropping him in the deep end. I just hope Benni doesn't slip on any Mcflurries during saturdays game.
waggy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 if we start with benni and roberts on saturday we are waving the white flag all ready
tony gale's mic Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 if we start with benni and roberts on saturday we are waving the white flag all ready Two strikers with better goal records last season than Man City paid £17m for?
waggy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Two strikers with better goal records last season than Man City paid £17m for? so there better players than rsc
Hughesy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Benni is yes - check his history compared to RSC
S15 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Did Hughesy just say McCarthy is better than RSC?? Bloody hell, get a grip mate.
imy9 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 RSC has had ONE good season in his entire career. RSC has scored more than FIVE league goals in ONE season in his entire career. His record is abysmal compared to Benni's.
waggy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 RSC has had ONE good season in his entire career. RSC has scored more than FIVE league goals in ONE season in his entire career. His record is abysmal compared to Benni's. so that makes benny the better player
unluckymorton Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 you live in a brfc dream land son RSC scored 4 goals for us last season. Benni scored 13 goals for us in 20 starts. Enough said.
imy9 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 so that makes benny the better player Umm, yes. How else do you judge a striker?
tony gale's mic Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Benni has been a much better player than RSC throughout his career. Anyone who argues otherwise is plain wrong.
