neekoy Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 When was the last time SGE managed a club with a desperately tight budget? Probably years, why?

slough_rover Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I feel that Allardyce is the best manager that Rovers can attract at this current moment in time especially with our curbed transfer limit. The managers who you could class in the level above him would not be content with our budget when it comes to transfers. I think its a case of Rovers having the best man that they can currently accomodate. He may not be everyones cup of tea but if he can achieve the success he obtained at Bolton then I think even the likes of Waggy would have to watch what they say.
BuckyRover Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 C'mon seriously Bryan? Whilst the stats show yes you are correct in your summation you must admit the quality of what we have seen on the football field (barring WH) is to a much higher standard. We could have taken points in any game we have played this year, something I didn't feel under Ince. Got to agree Whilst I think Sven is actually a very very good Manager (under the right circumstances), his treatment of the club previously casts doubt in my eyes. Villa away?

unluckymorton Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ah that word if the biggest word in the dictionary, lardarse was relagated with lotnob, relagated here and he's sacked I'll tell you what we'll do then Waggy, we'll sack him, bring in a big name European manager, spend £100m that we haven't got, go into administration, get relegated, end up like Leeds, QPR, Southampton, Notts Forest.... is that what you want? You're comments on Sam and the Rovers in general used to be quite amusing, however they are becoming boring and repetitive. To be honest, there are so many who seem to be against the club and only happy when they are knocking Rovers I, and others who I know well, are tiring with this messageboard. It's bad enough dingles coming on and spouting off their verbal sh!te, we don't need Rovers fans doing the same. I've never been a fan of Sam, but he's here now so lets get behind him. People like you, and the halfwits in NO1 on Saturday v West Ham will turn us into a laughing stock. That lot chanting "you don't know what your doing" would fit in well at St. James' Park with those nutters who want rid of managers after a hand full of games. I was frustrated too, as frustrated as the rest of hardcore Rovers fans, but it's better to get behind them than to turn on them. "lardarse was relegated with notlob" Who cares? He's not at notlob now, he's at the club we love so let him do his job and lets all get behind him.
SouthAussieRover Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Look Don you missed the word PEOPLE out of your original post, and you can't change it when it's QUOTED. Btw Tris, you seem to be wrong.
S15 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ah that word if the biggest word in the dictionary, lardarse was relagated with lotnob, relagated here and he's sacked Illiterate cretin.

I'm getting sick of the idiotic posts on here slagging off the manager, the board, the trustees, John Williams as nauseum. There is rarely anything new and a number of posters are ranting constantly about the same thing over and over. Waggy is a good example...

gumboots Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yep couldn't have put it better myself... Thing is, I'm no fan of Allardyce as you all know but I, like many others who remain extremely sceptical about various aspects of his management, do not go around slagging him off all the time on here. There's just no point as we can't afford to waste money again changing managers at this stage and apart from boring and frustrating us all to death last week, he's not actually done anything really wrong so far.
Tris Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Btw Tris, you seem to be wrong. You must be the only person on the MB to have your leg pulled about a typo, then edit your post to try and hide it, then come back 12 hours later and pretend you never made the error in the first place. How sad are you?

How sad are you? Not as sad as the person who Shillito refers to as an illiterate cretin or the only person attempting to defend him. Over to you

Good mature responce in my view. It is known that you are not a 'fan' of big Sam, but I do not think that you would abandon the club just because of who the manager is, as some on heere have said they will. Sam has not done anything wrong so far. Even in the transfer window he has only done what he was 'able' to do. Rovers have limited funds etc, debts to be paid etc. Sam has kept the team in the prem and all we can ask and hope for is he does the same again.

If we don't win in our next three games, then I will worry
Gav Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 You're comments on Sam and the Rovers in general used to be quite amusing, however they are becoming boring and repetitive. Same could be said for the Pro Allardyce alliance to, I’m sick of hearing Allardyce is the best thing since sliced bread, but I won’t spend my days hammering people for saying it. I find it rather boring also, but this is a messageboard, as I’ve said in the past, and here is the place to post such views, for or against.

You could probably count on one hand the amount of gratuitous pro-Allardyce posts here. waggy, on the other hand, systematically takes it upon himself to troll the forum with comments that'll antagonize the general populace. And the fact he types like a five year-old doesn't help matters either. Also, remind me what the 'S' stands for on this website again.

Sparky Marky Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 who would you have instead of allardyce Gav...?
Gav Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 who would you have instead of allardyce Gav...? He's the best man for the job.
gumboots Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 He's the best man for the job. I don't even think he's necessarily that but he's the one we've got and the best we are likely to get at then moment and for the foreseeable future. Not to say he's beyond criticism but that there's nothing to be gained by whingeing all the time.
