Graham Fenton Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 If we are relegated then I can't see why we wouldn't get rid of Sam and bring in someonelse with a different footballing philosophy. Like Paul Ince come on lets look at things properly when we win today with plenty of goals i doubt anyone will question sams style, which i happen to think is exciting football at its best. and to prove this in our 3 league games so far weve had about 70 shots its only a matter of time before the new signings adjust and sams team really takes shape, starting with an emphatic win today.

Amo Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I want to see a marked improvement against Wolves, irrespective of the result. I reckon around November time will be the time to judge Sam and see what direction we're heading in.
tashor Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 But if he starts with one lone striker against wolves then he is asking to be taken for a fool. If Rovers do start with Roberts on his tod in our next home game then I will have to join the barking jackals hereabouts.............. Today BS put his thick neck on the line and played Roberts as a lone striker for the whole game DESPITE having three young forwards on the bench AND having won the game half way into the second half............ I've no doubt he did this to spite those of us who think we know best.......... tashor and the rest of the noisy messageboard jackals 0 : Sam Allardyce 1
1864roverite Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Thats honesty Tashor, fair play mate. Like he said last weekend, he is the manager and he knows best !!! BTW Waggy, you might find that you like what you see going on at Ewood, They really do play some good pass and move football. Its not hoofball all the time mate. You had better get on a game or two otherwise you aint gonna get a Burnley ticket

Today some of the football on the floor was very good, and I think slowly the system and the balance between directness and patience is slowly getting to where Allardyce wants it to be. I enjoyed the game today, and not just because we won, but because we won and I liked the way we played.

thenodrog Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 If we are relegated then I can't see why we wouldn't get rid of Sam and bring in someonelse with a different footballing philosophy. Quite simply if that should happen I don't think we could afford a manager of Allardyce's capability. I'd put a lot of money on the liklihood of him being be back in the Prem before us thats for sure.
thenodrog Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 heavy night last night gordon I bet it's your turn with the bad head this morning waggy from drowing your own sorrows last night.
Amo Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I bet it's your turn with the bad head this morning waggy from drowing your own sorrows last night. Oh come on, you know normal waggy procedure. He'll debase the opposition as much as possible, and then bring up Keith Andrews as an easy red herring.

Anyone who believes that yesterday's result marks some kind of brave new dawn for Sam Allardyce's Blackburn is sorely mistaken. We shall see.
John Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Anyone who believes that yesterday's result marks some kind of brave new dawn for Sam Allardyce's Blackburn is sorely mistaken. You are correct, we will see obviously. 'Brave new dawn', are you expecting us to gatecrash the top 4 or even compete for the title this season?
Amo Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Anyone who believes that yesterday's result marks some kind of brave new dawn for Sam Allardyce's Blackburn is sorely mistaken. We shall see. Anyone who believes it was entirely meaningless, just to suit their own agenda, likewise.
roversmum Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I had a chuckle at this extract of Sam's words in the matchday magazine: "Due to wholesale injuries, particularly in attacking areas, we were forced into a change of system last time out against the Hammers. It meant we had to play a slower, more accomplished game rather than the more direct style you may have become more used to. I fully understand that fans like us to get the ball into the opposition box early, but playing David Dunn in the 'hole' meant that we wanted to play through midfield and be a little bit more patient."
spencey7 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I had a chuckle at this extract of Sam's words in the matchday magazine: Staggering. The man is delusional! Fan's WANT to see pathetic, defensive long-ball football, it must have been all the intricate passing and inventive attacking play that had boos ringing around Ewood Park during the West Ham game. This is a great example of Allardyce's most fatal weakness - his monumental ego.
Backroom Tom Posted September 13, 2009 Backroom Posted September 13, 2009 Staggering. The man is delusional!

I did not see much "hoofball", at times it was scintillating (commentators words not mine)
Parsonblue Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 This is a great example of Allardyce's most fatal weakness - his monumental ego. That would be the same monumental ego that you display in complaining about how everything Sam does is wrong while you have solutions to perfect football and how it should be played. Remind me again, Spencey7, what are your coaching qualifications and which Premier League club do you manage? Obviously your ego prevented you from appreciating the excellent football on view yesterday.
Miker Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 it must have been all the intricate passing and inventive attacking play that had boos ringing around Ewood Park during the West Ham game. It meant we had to play a slower, more accomplished game rather than the more direct style you may have become more used to. I suggest working on your interpretation. You seem to have trouble reading English sentences and making sense of them, instead creating your own meanings. I watched the West Ham game and could see a lot of our play going through the midfield, with Dunn making numerous runs and putting some nice through balls, such as the one for Hoilett. The fans were booing because the team was playing too defensively and they wanted to see a more attacking style of play. Complete overreaction, we needed some points on the board, so Sam was making sure we got a justified amount of points against West Ham, after the disappointment of the first 2 games, by playing cautiously. Just watched the Inter vs Parma game and Inter were constantly lobbing the ball up into the box. I suppose they should sack Mourinho for using a direct style of play as well.

Amo Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Awesome, you've made a real fool of yourself there Miker. Read over those posts again. Slowly. Go and support Newcastle. They're top of the league and hate Sam as much as you do. Match made in heaven.

den Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 On the big screen, before the game, I thought I heard Allardyce say that he had "had enough" and decided to get away last week. Anyone explain what he actually said, or meant please?

Anyone explain what he actually said, or meant please? Think he was referring to the transfer market. Sam along with a few other Premiership managers went to Spain last week.
