CAPT KAYOS Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Id disagree with that - who are the 3 weakest players in our squad - Pedersen, Roberts & Andrews? None of Sams signings....Give him time I tell ya! And I disgaree with this (for the time being anyway) - Kalinic has to be classed as one of these as he has offerred nothing yet, same as Elrio - both of Sam's signings, with Kalinic especially being one that we need. At least the others have played and at last resort provide cover and we know what they are about - short of a cameo by Kalinic these two offer nothing at the moment.

Eddie Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pedersen one of the weakest in the squad? You have to be kidding.
joey_big_nose Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pedersen one of the weakest in the squad? You have to be kidding. Not many who are wose who aren't kids. Salgado perhaps, Van Heerden (although he is still training up), Andrews, maybe Roberts, Nelsen, McCarthy is probably on a par. He has consistently looked our least effective player on the pitch apart from Andrews imo.
LeftWinger Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pedersen one of the weakest in the squad? You have to be kidding. Pedersen has been woeful this season. Don't know what has happened to the lad.
mrsjansen Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Jeez, someone makes an opinion that goes against the majority and you all jump up and down and start insulting people. Isnt football about opinions? Isnt this forum about opinions? or have i stumbled across something where unless your a regular poster on here only your opinions count. People pay there money to watch there team play. Hard earned cash. That makes them allowed to voice their concerns, without being bullied and insulted doesnt it. If you dont like OPINIONS, go and play on another board.

OscarRaven Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Absolutely bang on that Mrs. It's probably the main reason why a lot of former contributors don't post anymore too, which is sad. I'm willing to bet these proclaimed posters were not driven away by 'newbies' but more the sanctimonious 'old guard' with their daily double digit post counts on the imminent collapse of mega-clubs, how I was right about Ince all along, impending race hate in Blackburn, Lancashire Utd, etc.... The board got boring, thank god for the new blood & Nicko’s input. Shame a few more revered posters don't move on...
cruz Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 The good news is Sam only has another 26 months left on is contract. Hopefully by early 2012 I will have full use of my neck again. That's if I can stick another 26 months* of stupefying, negative, draw chasing hoof ball with all the tactical nous of a cream cracker *Thank heavens for Rovers that ST's were cheap
waggy Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 lardarse has got two weeks to get everyone firing on full cylinders for the derby game,if we lose to bumley he will be the 1st rovers manager for decades to do so,i'm not bothered if the ball has snow on it for this match,we must win at all costs,he needs to fire the squad up,get these jonny foriegners onboard and tell them what this game means to the fans,we must win at all costs, defeat does not even come into the equation
dulwich Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I'm not one to take the views of "self-deluded" Newcastle fans as gospel, but this is frighteningly familiar... Frighteningly Familiar

OscarRaven Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Sam, though, will brook no criticism. It’s been like watching a man trying to build a house from live eels. “Are you sure this is the best way to build a house?” we tentatively ask. “I know what I’m doing,” barks the man as the eels all slither away again. Negative tactics, bewildering selections, baffling substitutions and the unshakable belief that the way to face the likes of Fulham, Derby and Wigan is to stop them playing. Even the most patient were livid that Allardyce went to Sunderland looking for, and lucky to get, a draw. Then he had the nerve to be pleased when it was little more than cowardice in the face of the enemy. Thats the way I saw west ham at home. Cowardice. Would he dare at Turf Moor? Scrub that our ambition has been so dulled, most of you will actually advocate it! Travelling to Chelsea with a £48 ticket in your pocket, you couldn’t be pleased to read your manager saying: “Our focus has to be on the winnable games rather than putting all our focus on having to get a performance against the big boys.” Anyone going to Chelsea? Although we did give Arsenal a game didn't we, what was it 6-2? Quality stuff - So are we Rovers or are we barcodes? Neither we are all just Trotters!

Hopefully Dunn & co can get through to the rest of the squad. Im sure they will be fully aware of what is required in this game I'm not one to take the views of "self-deluded" Newcastle fans as gospel, but this is frighteningly familiar... Frighteningly Familiar Ha ha pathetic - Read the last bit "But the situation has gained its own momentum and the sentimental types are screaming for Alan Shearer – no experience, no scouting network. Newcastle have to change managers so often because, quite simply, they rarely pick the right bugger in the first place" They got rid, they ended up with Shearer, they ended up in the Championship - ENOUGH SAID!
roversmum Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I think Sam is well aware of what this match means to the fans. Hopefully he will come up with the goods or he is rather likely to end up as toast. I envisage a massive backlash should the worst scenario happen and the team/tactics are not up for the job.
OscarRaven Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 They got rid, they ended up with Shearer, they ended up in the Championship - ENOUGH SAID! More selective posting of the facts I see. You kindly edited Joe Kinear out of any responsibility.
mgkennedy1 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Why are people worried about the dingles game??? We have lost 2 home matches under Sam to Villa and City...
Hughesy Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 More selective posting of the facts I see. You kindly edited Joe Kinear out of any responsibility. It was Shearers responsibility to keep them up - he failed It was Sams responsibility to keep us up - he didnt fail! Enough said about that article. They had 3 managers, with probably a stronger squad and still didnt manage it

But if you want to make an example out of his time at Newcastle you could just as well make an example out of his time at Bolton where he did tremendously. Either way he is at Rovers and a large amount is different. Don't get ahead of yourself. We have played reasonably, have a number of good players, and look competitive. There will be time for bloodletting if we lose against the Dingles.
Hughesy Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 If that is acceptable to you Hughesy, then fair enough. But I make no apologies for the fact that it isn't acceptable to me. My main point is that they are geordies - look what happened to them! If you would like to be deluded like them...thats your choice. Do you attend most games? Its the media that seem to give us this image of nasty football, all long ball and not much else - its abit like when they labelled us Bully boys.
Paul Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 If that is acceptable to you Hughesy, then fair enough. But I make no apologies for the fact that it isn't acceptable to me. Anything in blue and white is acceptable to Hughesy
AggyBlue Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Anything in blue and white is acceptable to Hughesy Nothing wrong with sticking by your club through thick and thin and looking at the positives rather than negatives. I suppose it's all down to personalities though
mellison24 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Anything in blue and white is acceptable to Hughesy And me. And most fans who value the club over money and various other factors in this soap opera we call football.
Presty On Tour Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 If Sam's team thrashes Burnley, he will certainly up his stature and get a few undecided Rovers fans on his side. If the unthinkable happens, then it could turn very sour and exile! It's only one game but the result will shape the the future of the so called expert and he must know this.
