Read my post again.

I said 70% would find the salary, Rovers bank balance and balance sheet attractive.

I said they wouldn't find our P&L attractive.

At the time we ended up with Ince, about ten days before appointing the cretin, John Williams said Rovers had 40 candidates whom they considered to be qualified to do the job.

As Shearer was number 1 target and Ince turned out to be number 2, what constituted qualified admittedly turns out to be "qualified to achieve relegation" in hindsight.

I am not going any further but there was a PL manager of an established club interested in succeding Sparky to my knowledge that did not become public at any stage. You will either have to take that on trust or not.

Quick guess right off the top of my head .... David Moyes?

Not wanting to shift through the propaganda from the previous pages, I think its only fair to run the numbers on Allardyce (very SSN) but it should settle some arguments.

Allardyce's Premiership record (Lets face it, its all that really counts)

Record at Ewood

Played 16

Won 8

Drawn 6

Lost 2 (Aston Villa and Man City)

Record on the Road

Played 15

Won 2

Drawn 2

Lost 11 (of the 11 defeats. Man Utd x2, Chelsea x2, Arsenal x 2, Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, Stoke City, Sunderland)

Not a bad record to be honest, averaged out over a season that would be 38 points from 31 games, which isnt too bad considering the opposition we have faced.

I know this will fall on deaf ears for those who want Big Sam out, I was particularly dumbfounded to hear someone calling for his head just moments after the final whistle after the Burnley home game WHICH WE WON! The guy was sitting in the Riverside and I joked with a mate that it was Waggy.

So for those who want Sam out just say you dont like the man, and lets move on.

I don't like him, or what he's doing to my football club.

This is the most depressed I've been about BRFC in a long time.

I can understand that, i'm not exactly happy with the way things are going either.

But at the end of the day Rovers aren't competing for one of the European spots anymore and now its all about survival. You can't live off peanuts in this league forever and in all likelihood it’s just a matter of time before we are dumped out of this league.

I'm just hoping we can keep staying in this league long enough until we can find someone who is willing to put money in the club.

So whilst I am not a fan of Sam's tactics, playing style and various other things he is in my opinion the best man to try and keep us in this league. I think some people forget how dependant we are on being in the premier league and the severe consequences of relegation.

My guess would be Steve Bruce, who was apparently getting restless with the limitations he had at Wigan at the time, and may have found a move to a Top 7 club in Blackburn Rovers more attractive than Wigan, who finished in the lower half of the table in 2007/08.

Steve 'Loyalty' Bruce has a habit of walking out on football clubs and he's managed six different teams in the last decade - Sheffield United, Hudddersfield, Wigan (twice), Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Sunderland.

If a higher managerial salary at Blackburn Rovers had been on offer than at Wigan, I suspect Bruce would have been interested in succeeding Mark Hughes at Ewood Park. In the end of course Bruce stayed for 12 more months at Wigan before joining Sunderland.

This was the man who previously insisted that he was a lifelong Newcastle fan, saying: "I have supported Newcastle since I was a boy and being a Geordie lad it's in-bred. I'm still passionate about the club."

Yet he was happy to join their bitter rivals Sunderland. I think Mr Bruce is a man who puts principles to one side and looks after Number One. He has no shame about putting himself first, second and third above the consideration of football supporters who are often disgusted with his lack of loyalty.

As a player, Bruce was probably one of the best English defenders never to have played for his country. As a person he leaves much to be desired though.

Going back to Mr Allardyce....

I don't like him, or what he's doing to my football club.

I'm the same Bryan. Through gritted teeth I put up with his rotten football last season because it was absolutely imperative that we stayed up.

This season I've seen no improvement at all. We've got the joint-worst defensive record in the Premier League, shipping goals like there's no tomorrow and we're in another ugly relegation battle near the bottom of the table.

Allardyce has failed to address our desperate midfield problems and he's become stubborn, inflexible and arrogant - having a pop at the supporters and proclaiming himself as the expert, while presiding over a run of ten consecutive away defeats.

Against the bigger teams who Rovers used to at least put up a decent fight and be competitive against, we have now become an embarrassment to watch - a team that seems to raise the white flag before coming onto the pitch and manages just a single shot on goal in 90 minutes against a Man United team which had both Vidic and Ferdinand missing in defence.

I've become deeply embarrassed watching some of the totally feeble performances from Mr Allardyce this season. I accept that we haven't got the finances of other clubs. We have limited resources, but what is unacceptable to me is the manner of some of the defeats this season when we've been outfought, outbattled, second to the ball, sloppy in possession, error-prone in defence and frankly a disgrace in certain matches.

Ultimately the man responsible for the shambles on the pitch this season is the manager.

Add me to the list, but I'll up the ante as I have never liked Allardyce now he's here I know I was right from the beginning.

I am NOT calling for the manager to leave but I am expressing my deep dislike of his tactics, attitude, arrogance and general approach to the job.

Exactly how I feel.

I'm not unhappy about Sam but I'm not ecstatic either. People still need to realise that this team is still NOT Sams team. He's making the best of what he has at the moment and trying to mould them in to what he wants them to be so tactics are dictated by the players available. Whether things change as time goes on and when he brings his own choices in, that is going to be the acid test. Until then, I'm reserving my judgement. He is the right man for the job for one simple fact, he'll keep us up.

With present finances you could be waiting a long time to pass judgement then!

I reckon Sam will have a few ideas up his sleeve to get some players in and ship some out.

Benni out is one to raise cash and get a high earner off but other than Samba or Robinson I cannot see where he could raise money. MGP could possibly go cheaply to get him off the wage bill. Money one way or another will hold things up.

Some interesting stats based on the season so far:

Opta Stats

We've made the third least amount of 'successful passes' - behind only Stoke and Bolton which backs up the theories of having the worst central midfield in the league and that we do like a bit of "hoofball".

Also we're bottom of the 'second half' table. Whatever Big Sam is saying at half time - it really isn't working.

With regards to Sam "bringing in his own choices", he has had two windows in effect to mould the players the way he wants (not picking on you Crazy Ivan as I reckon your spot on with your assessment of him being the right man as he'll keep us up). Going over old ground but Keith Andrews could have been gotten shot of for £2 million quid in the summer. That opportnunity will never come again. I know it's only one example but you'd like to think that with a fraction of that £2 million a better replacement could have been signed and we'd be better off now.

2 windows - disrupted by lack of funds, and RSC! Of what he has done....Givet, Diouf, NZonzi, Di Santo - they have all had a good impact. Salgado & Kalinic also look promising following dodgy starts. Give him time I say!

Sam's hand was forced on Andrews - He didnt know whether 3 big players could stay fit (Emerton, Dunn & Reid), however we all know that could change in an instant. He also didnt expect NZonzi to have the impact he has so far either.

The longer this lot stay fit & improve....the more likely Andrews will move on.

Don't agree with that.

Saturday's starting 11 included 5 Allardyce signings (Givet, Chimbonda, Nzonzi, Diouf, Di Santo) ... and that was without calling on arguably the two biggest signings in Kalinic and Salgado, or Jacobsen or Van Heerden.

Add to that the fact that he's ousted the elder statesman, longest serving player and dressing room favourite (Tugay), the gobby scouser (Warnock), the local boy (Derbyshire) and has been able to make several of his own appointments in the back room staff, I'd say this is now very much his team.

Whether he's making the best of what he has is another matter. I'd suggest not, with an underused Benni McCarthy apparently next through the exit door, and the team hovering above the relegation zone (and potentially rock bottom by Sunday night if the unthinkable happens and Pompey take 3 points from Ewood).

And shows his policy of holding out to try and nick a game in the latter stages for exactly what it is - crap!

Absolutely agree - of the other 6 in the starting 11 on Saturday, 2 were signed by Ince, 3 by Hughes and 1 by Souness. If it's not Sam's team then whose is it?
