John Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 This is ridiculous! Some of our games have been exciting and whilst our away form is awful, take into consideration who we have played away from home.

Bobby G Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Didnt know where else to post this but nicko says in todays Mirror that Sam will be watching Ibricic, the Bosnian former team mate of our own Niko, as a replacement for MGP who along with Benni may be sold to fund his purchase in January.
alexanders Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 The second half against Portsmouth wasnt rubbish football, it was pretty good to watch mainly played along the floor with plenty of attacking moves down both flanks. With both our wingers on the bench. That says something.
ABBEY Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I just wanted to say that I like Sam, I think he is great. He is my hero. If he can rile up people like Abbey then that just makes me happy. What a pillock
ABBEY Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Why? Have you met ABBEY? has he heckaslike ....another brave cyber keyboard hardmaan...I feel sorry for his lonely existence...it must be hard for the family around him.ah bless
Miker Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 has he heckaslike ....another brave cyber keyboard hardmaan...I feel sorry for his lonely existence...it must be hard for the family around him.ah bless I actually live alone, but thanks. Just establishing that I don't like you, based on your posts not your actual person. Clearly you have the need to slander me as a person though.
Paul Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I'm beginning to find myself in a quandry. I have never liked Allardyce as a personality, I don't hate him so please don't put me in the Allardyce hater category his supporters like to use. His "I'm the expert" and interview after the Portsmouth win only served to reinforce my opinion. I didn't go to the Pompey game and gave my STs away. The person who took mine phoned at half-time to say, and I do quote, "I can't believe I've given up half a day to watch this absolute sh!te," and then went on to tell me how terrible the Rovers were and the team had been roundly booed off the pitch. Now this was from a person with no Allardyce axe to grind. From the other side it's very difficult to argue against those who have the persuasive arguement of our home form, which afterall is where most of us watch our football. JW has often argued the way to bring in more fans is with "success" on the pitch, winning in other words. Where I'm in strong agreement with ABBEY, waggy and others is I'm not prepared to accept simple survival which I feel is the limit of the current ambition. Plenty of Allardyce supporters suggest we are simply lucky to be in the PL and should accept our lot. I can't see how this can be considered good enough. So yes I'm beginning to be won over by the arguement that BFS is good at managing the home form but should this prove to be the limit of our ambition, and that of other clubs of our ilk, one has to wonder about the overall impact on the game. Only 16,000 bothered to trun up to watch Wigan play Fulham. The first half against Pompey did nothing to win over the person who took my STs, the second half got a mention but nothing like the mention the first half received!
ABBEY Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 TI actually live alone, but thanks. Just establishing that I don't like you, based on your posts not your actual person. Clearly you have the need to slander me as a person though. Not surprised you live alone. You don't like me ,join the queue.slandered you ? Alls I dud was respond to you saying you like things riling me..classic..time
thenodrog Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 but should this prove to be the INITIAL limit of our ambition, Yes it should and everything else is a bonus given the 40m or bust threat of relegation! Rem Paul We didn't make the rules we just have to work within them.
Paul Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Steve if that's you asking me then yes I have, only once. That was enough!! I asked Miker the question because I know / think there is more to ABBEY than matches what he posts on here, or the style he uses anyway.
CAPT KAYOS Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Yes it should and everything else is a bonus given the 40m or bust threat of relegation! Rem Paul We didn't make the rules we just have to work within them. But the 'expert' did make the rule to settle for a draw against the spammers and then rest on our laurels against the enemy Theno. So if this is the case we should be busting a gut to make sure we win the home games regardless.

The failure against WHU was in his instruction to Julie to play on the right wing which he then took it upon himself to completely ignore. I'm actually suprised SA ever picked him again after that!
Hughesy Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 This is ridiculous! Some of our games have been exciting and whilst our away form is awful, take into consideration who we have played away from home. Spot on - shame others dont look into things like that. People just read the cold hard fact - 10 away losses in a row. They dont do it any justice however if they dont analysise how many of those games, they would of actually expected us to win.....? Sam is one of the best at the following: Working with a tight budget, spotting bargains/ freebies, pulling off the ex-galtico type signings & getting the best out of players. He is also has top knowledge of how the premier league works and where you are most likely/ unlikely to pick points up. His progress has been good....Yes its had its blips but so far...a very good job. He came in, spotted we lacked a right winger and abit more steel at the back - he addressed that with Givet & Diouf - we stayed up, despite looking doomed. Very interesting that at the beginning of the season Sam suggested Set-pieces make up for 1/3 of all goals in the prem and that should you be the best at defending them and the best at attacking them, then that would get you to 10th alone. So far this season, prior to Pompey Hart said we had bagged 60% of our goals in that fashion. Surely that shows where we are working hard to improve. He then said he wanted to turn Ewood into 'Fortress Ewood' once again - Our home form is excellent...poor 45 minutes or not and we now have 5 straight wins in all comps at home....we beat the dingles and we pulled off an unexpected win against Villa. Next step for Sam is to sort our away form....and get rid of some more of the deadwood that some have been calling for for some time. I believe he is the right man for the job and if you are willing to give him 12 months to progress us further, you will agree too. Yes his 'style' of football isnt always perfect, however we have seen some very good football too this season....Lets give him some time eh!! 3pts at Bolton and we might be up to mid-table!

CAPT KAYOS Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I bet he'd see it as 4 points gained Capt.... and it was. You have me there Theno but the there are still the buts ... which is beind discussed elsewhere on this MB As we keep being told its only early in the season ... so why worry if we win or lose
unluckymorton Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 you say i spout crap.nicola and saldalgo just blows that out of the water waggy, Kalanic and Salgado will be working in training to break into the 1st team. They are new additions to the squad and add strength in depth. Kalanic will not fit in straight away up front and I wouldn't drop anyone at the back for Salgado. Are there so few out there who don't see them as failures but as not having the chance to prove themselves yet? I sincerely hope you are left eating your words, how you can constantly 'spout crap' about our beloved team is beyond me, you'd do a better job on the dingle forum. You have a lot to say for somebody who's not willing to get off their backside and get down to Ewood to see how the lads are really doing. As far as I'm concerned Sam is doing a decent job, we are sitting in 14th place with a game in hand that could take us to 10th after possibly the worse fixtures you could have crammed into a month. The best thing is we COULD have done better and WILL do better as the season progresses.
unluckymorton Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 SALGADO!!!! Not Saldalgo... Not Salgardo, SAL-BLOODY-GADO!!!!!!!!!!!! And while I'm at it... KALINIC!!!! I'm just glad you don't do the shirt printing! Learn to spell our players names for crying out loud! Didn't realise it was a spelling test Il Tambro. I'm also glad I don't do the shirt printing.

I'm just glad you don't do the shirt printing! Learn to spell our players names for crying out loud! i'll spell there names right when they become legends in the blackburn end like spit
gazsimm Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 i'll spell there names right when they become legends in the blackburn end like spit Hope you can spell Andrews right then WAGGY!! Did you like Sam's celebration on saturday by the way, i think he did that just for you!!!
sparkspakespoke Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 i'll spell there names right when they become legends in the blackburn end like spit No, but if you get down to the ground and support them and the team it might help. By the way Henry took ten games to score for Arsenal and he didnt end up doing too badly. You should stop letting your hatred for the manager cloud your judgement.
unluckymorton Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Hope you can spell Andrews right then WAGGY!! Did you like Sam's celebration on saturday by the way, i think he did that just for you!!! It was great to see Sam celebrate like that, Sam's never been my choice but with reactions like that he's growing on me. To me it show's he cares just as we do, we being the ones who actually go to the games through thick and thin no matter what. "I don't like the manager so I'm not going" That's no excuse waggy.
mellison24 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 No, but if you get down to the ground and support them and the team it might help. By the way Henry took ten games to score for Arsenal and he didnt end up doing too badly. You should stop letting your hatred for the manager cloud your judgement. Didn't Arsenal fans also HATE Bergkamp for his first dozen games or so? He's now a legend. Just another example. And didn't it take Freidel at least 10 games to convince us that he was any good?
mellison24 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Friedel got motm on his debut vs Wolves. Maybe not then haha. I'll just say Freidel never got the status he deserved while at Liverpool until he played regularly with us! So wait until Kalinic (and whoever else we are yet to see properly) to play regularly. I personally think Kalinic may be ready, but I'm no expert.
