Would another audience with Sam be a possibility after the January window. Think it would be beneficial allround to clarify a few things and keep many a fan including myself onside.

Stay out of it Princess, nobody asked you.

Stay out of what exactly? Why are you talking in riddles?

Just as an aside why would such an inane and aggressive comment from you attract 3 green brownie points? C'mon own up who voted for the plonker and why?

The comment wasn't aimed at you and it really dosn't rate as "aggressive and inane" given some of the stuff on here, some of it from you. I havn't a clue what you are on about with "3 green brownie points" but as you object to aggression and inanity the "plonker" name calling is a bit surprising. It does however, bring me back to the original point where I pulled you up for accusing another poster of wanting Allardyce to fail and the consequences of failure for the club. Baring in mind the way you carried on about paul Ince on here 12 months ago this might clarify my point -

Bla Bla Bla..... Point is that I was completely, utterly and totally right from the word go about Ince. His unsuitability should have been obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse etc. Funny how so many were sucked in to the collective hysteria at the time. :wstu:

btw Thanks for the definition. Very helpful. Now can you look up gobshite on you dictionary whilst simultaneously facing a mirror?

Sam took a massive gamble in the summer in replacing a proven 18m striker with two (or one and a half) unproven youngsters and it looks like being a gamble that has backfired disastrously with a return of just one Premier League goal between the two of them coming up a week before Christmas.

he also chose not to add any creativity to central midfield following the long overdue rtirement of Tugay which is another potentially terminal problem.

When he first took over Sam said one of his main tasks was to get Benni fully fit and firing again, a feat for whatever reason has proved beyond him.

Imo we will go down unless either

a) Sam can get either Kalinic or Di Santo (if he is retained) finding the net on a regular basis or

B) Sam can bury his differences with Benni or Roberts and get one of them performing to their best and finding the net on a regular basis or

c) Sam brings someone in from outside who can find the back of the net on a regular basis.

I have a degree of sympathy for Sam because he has both arms tied behind his back financially by the owners, that said I bet there are a lot of managers out there who wouldn't have minded working within the overall budgets Sam has had, and if he takes us down I won't consider he has done a very good job at Ewood regardless of finances.

The parallels between this season and Souness's first season in the Prem are stunning. Back then Souness signed a complete dud in Grabbi and it looked for all the world like we were going down but but somehow we went on to win the Worthington Cup which gave us the momentum to climb up the League.

I sincerely hope we can get to the new Wembley for the first time as well this season but Leaguewise the big difference back then was that the Trustees charged to our rescue in January to fund the 7m purchase of Andrew Cole which proved crucial. That ain't going to happen now so I am not overly optimistic

First of all before I reply to this post, I would like to apologise to all the users who have this cretin on ignore!

I seldom post on this forum but this idiot has got my blood boiling. I would not bet against you being delighted with today’s result? After all it adds fuel to your argument about Big Sam’s inability to manage rovers.

I was at Hull last week watching a decent attacking performance by us and left the ground disappointed we did not win! In comparison 3 days later I was at Birmingham utterly embarrassed and somewhat angry with the way he had changed the team around so negatively, set the stall out so negatively and played the game so negatively,

Against Spurs today we fell behind to a goal that in my opinion was lucky to stand! I believed we was going to equalise and get at least a draw for much of the second half until we completely lost our way and fell apart yet again.

Sam received stick for the way we didn’t take Burnley to the sword and held on for the win. Main point from this being we won! He will take credit for turning the game round against Portsmouth, even though his team selection was disgusting and we should never have been in such a position at half time. Main point again being we won!

Its negative, it’s infuriating, its damn hard work but I first and foremost support Blackburn Rovers Football Club and will continue to be supporting them long after Big Sam has left, whether we are in the Premier League, championship or the Blue square premier!

I for one like many others will not “brown tongue” him or his style of football but I and many others on this board will continue to support Blackburn Rovers! You have quite clearly made the decision to turn your back on this proud football club because of the choice we made in manager?

My support for Blackburn Rovers extends to everyone who wears the shirt and to the manager and the staff behind him! Whether I believe they are right or wrong they can always rely on my unwavering support – this is not “brown tonguing” – this is being a football fan!!!!

Absolutely spot on Mark. Sadly, for whatever reason, some couldn't bring themselves to have the same attitude when Paul Ince was manager.

You're joking aren't you? There were NO signs of progress, No chance of staying up just terminal decline, nothing to give us any hope whatsoever. His appointment was a catastrohic mistake whose effects we are still living with eg a dodgy goalie and a central mid-fielder who obviously wasn't fit when we signed him and a central mid-fielder who should never play. That's it, the sum total of Ince's signings, everyone else has gone Why should anyone display any loyalty to that clown?

No, I'm not joking. I have never liked Sam Alardyce and still remain very sceptical in regard to him. Despite this he has my backing as long he is Rovers' manager and until it is obvious that the job is beyond him and he is taking us down. He isn't at that point - yet. I was totally underwhelmed and worried by Ince's appointment due to his lack of relevent experience and the fact that I didn't particlarly like his public persona. I did, however back him because he was our manager and his success was ours. That backing ended sometime in November when it became obvious that he wasn't up to the job. My point is that some, unlike myself, Mark and plenty of others, simply could not do that and were on Ince's back from day one.

A true supporter, imo, should put aside their dislike of an individual as soon as he is appointed the boss of your club.

Tell me deryck guylers spoon why do you think your opinions are any more accurate or valid now? From the statements that you still come out now I'd say that you still cannot see the wood for the trees on most of the issues that you contribute to on here.

Allardyce ranks 9th on F365's Top Ten Prem Managers of 2009 just above a certain O Coyle...

F365`s Top Ten Prem Managers Of 2009

9) Sam Allardyce (Blackburn)

Below 18 other teams in the Premier League on New Year's Day were Blackburn but over the next five months they amassed only marginally fewer points than Aston Villa - the only Premier League team to win at Ewood Park in that survival run-in. El-Hadji Diouf and Gael Givet were successful signings as Allardyce pulled off an escape that was more grinding than great.

On current form, Nikola Kalinic is a £6m flop, but Allardyce can point to a big profit made on Roque Santa Cruz. Allardyce should be warned, though - Gary Megson was on this list last season after pulling off a very similar job at Bolton and few would back him to last the season at the Reebok. We have a feeling that 2010 might not be as kind to Allardyce as 2009.

Well iv just been reading up on stats – I know big Sam is a stat man & its also something I do in my role….so here are some interesting facts……..

Attack

We have failed to score in more games than anyone else (10), Pompey & Hull are next worst & have failed in 7.

2 of the top 10 youngest goal scorers in the prem – play for us (Di Santo 7th & NZonzi 9th) – and it would make it 3 of 10 if Hoilett was to score anytime soon! So it kind of highlights that we are going to a more youthful side.

Defensive

6 teams have 100% record at holding onto a half time lead – we are one of them.

In the last 10 mins of games we have conceded 7 goals (2nd worst behind Wigan) – HOWEVER they have actually cost us 0 points by conceding these late goals (3 of the games have been 1-0 and we were chasing the game v Spurs, United & City). It also says we don’t concede in the last 10 mins when it matters!

Only 5 teams have kept more clean sheets than us.

General

Penalties – We have had the joint least (1), compared to Chelsea who have been given 6 & United 5 (And they say the refs don’t help the big boys)

Bad Boy league – we usually top it, this time we are 14th!

Summary

Basically it says we are much improved at the back, and much harder to beat – but we cannot find the net with ease – whether that is down to lack of creativity or lack of confidence who knows…..Personally I think its abit of both + the risk we are taking on youth.

It shows we need abit more bite in the midfield and also more creativity and for our strikers to start taking their chances.

Attendance wise – we are up at 13th with an average of 26,013 compared to 23,474 last season– ahead of Bolton by around 4500 and Burnley by 6000.
