rovers1995 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Can I just say to the fans that want Sam out of this club. We would be linked with the same drab that Bolton are linked to. Keep dreaming Hughesy would NEVER come back and I'd prefer Big Sam to any of the other candidates.

Amo Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 he shouldnt have said them then should he? he is the self proclaimed expert tho isnt he not me.Hes the expert when we win but it "wears thin" when we we dont .how does that work? It just makes you look incredibly petty to keep dredging up that one quote.
ABBEY Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Can I just say to the fans that want Sam out of this club. We would be linked with the same drab that Bolton are linked to. Keep dreaming Hughesy would NEVER come back and I'd prefer Big Sam to any of the other candidates. why do you prefer him? boring ,dire ,hit and hope.no skill just play to nick a goal footy is pants tbh. It just makes you look incredibly petty to keep dredging up that one quote. petty? its him who slagged you and me and said we dont nothinbg and he said he was the EXPERT....just like to know what at?
Backroom Tom Posted January 2, 2010 Backroom Posted January 2, 2010 Today is poor but I'll try and hold off further judgement till after Tuesday, he's obviously pulled a Mick McCarthy, it worked for McCarthy it may yet work for Sam. Tuesday is massive for him in terms of fan support.
MeanGreenMachine Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 because this club and 80% of its fans are devoid of any sort of ambition.
Amo Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 petty? its him who slagged you and me and said we dont nothinbg and he said he was the EXPERT....just like to know what at? I didn't take it to heart, like some.
AggyBlue Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 because this club and 80% of its fans are devoid of any sort of ambition. (Please don't use that word again) off numpty
rovers1995 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 why do you prefer him? boring ,dire ,hit and hope.no skill just play to nick a goal footy is pants tbh. Lets look at the contenders: Darren Ferguson no premierleague experience we know where that'll end up Peter Reid - same as above and no thanks Owen Coyle - Nope don't want no Burnley scum here At the end of the day Big Sam has the experience that we need
broadsword Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Sign of the times that we are getting people turn on each other here.

MeanGreenMachine Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (Please don't use that word again) off numpty Wow someone got taught a new word over christmas . Your telling me we don't lack ambition when the only thing that comes out of peoples mouths when we talk about Rovers is "we need to stay up", like thats the best we can do. This negative fat fool playing sunday pub football is showing no ambition whatsoever on the field. But when we do ie when he is forced to play football or he isnt here, we get the ball down, show some ambition and win games.
Sandiway Blue Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I`m no big fan of Sam however we are faced with the problem of who else can we realistically get? Number one target for Rovers is to stay in the premiership regardless and Sam is one of the best candidates to keep us up given the clubs budget. End of story.

Keep dreaming Hughesy would NEVER come back and I'd prefer Big Sam to any of the other candidates. I agree, BUT that does not mean I'm happy with the way things are going at the moment.

How do you expect the club to have any ambition when it works on peanuts and consistently sells its best players to pay the rent?
MeanGreenMachine Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hughes managed to do a good job and was given alot less money than the fat one and Ince. Hughes shown ambition and signed 2 champions league winners in Cruz and Benni. Sam shown his ambition by signing a 6million croat who gets a run out once in a blue moon and a argie who would struggle to score in an open net.
Amo Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hughes managed to do a good job and was given alot less money than the fat one and Ince. He also became disillusioned with his lack of backing and touted himself for a better job. Hughes shown ambition and signed 2 champions league winners in Cruz and Benni. And Salgado never has? Sam shown his ambition by signing a 6million croat who gets a run out once in a blue moon and a argie who would struggle to score in an open net. And you think finding the finished article is easy for a club of our stature?
Backroom Tom Posted January 2, 2010 Backroom Posted January 2, 2010 To be fair to Sam there were exceptional circumstances in bringing in Benni and Roque with them being out of favour and cheap, i don't think there were any similar bargains to be had this time
Blackpool_Rover Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Im not going to join the Sam haters team but something definitely has to give. It seems like today he already has many possible excuses ready made for his interview and no matter what he always seems to be able to cover up the fact that we were rubbish. We have quite a good squad who im sure would like to be playing football. Last weekend i went to Wigan which, apart from the derby, was my first live game in the Allardyce era and i couldnt believe it. It was absolutely PAINFUL to watch and he said he was pleased with the performance. Midfield were shocking and we could only create something from set pieces. The fans were flat apart from the odd bit of racist chanting (Was a minority of idiots sat near me in the bottom left). Sorry sorry times
Ossydave Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'd like to know some of the players opinions on Allardyce. To me it seems their heads are slowly dropping and it's getting worse, as if they have very little faith in him or his tactics. When they applaud the fans at the end, particularly Robbo, I get the impression they feel sorry for us in a way and believe we deserve better.
Backroom DE. Posted January 2, 2010 Backroom Posted January 2, 2010 I'm starting to think they operated on his brain by mistake. Bringing on Rigters? And MGP with 68 seconds of a half remaining? Truly baffling.
Barney Blue Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Sam also took Bolton down again and back up again, thus proving the virtues of patience versus knee-jerk! Not true! He took them up via the Play-offs in 2001 and they've been in the PL ever since.
Shabani Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Atm my biggest problem is that Allardyce appears to be squandering what little money we have Diouf, Salgado, Van Heerden are truly 3 of Rovers' worst ever players. What little talent Diouf has is diminished by the fact that hes a massive tw4t and on superstar wages. Salgado appears incapable of playing anywhere on the pitch. RB RW he has been terrible, 4/5 out of 10 every game he plays and is another on massive wages. Van Heerden, what can i say? Another player earning half a million a year to have a Sseason Ticket in the dugout. Kalinic, Chimbonda and Di Santo are all downgrades on previous players, but they shouldnt get too much criticism. However, both Di Santo and Kalinic are wasting too many chances, both should have at least double what they have now. Chimbonda is talented, but is almost morphing into another Diouf. Was originally a decent signing, but now doesnt seem to have the heart for the fight and is YET ANOTHER on big wages Givet - cracking signing, well played Sam; but for god's sake stick him at CB, Nelsen has had his day
Hughesy Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Atm my biggest problem is that Allardyce appears to be squandering what little money we have Diouf, Salgado, Van Heerden are truly 3 of Rovers' worst ever players. 3 of the truly worst ever players?? FFS dont talk sh!te - how long have you supported Rovers?! Diouf was a big part of why we stayed up last season - this season he hasnt been good enough - but last season was enough to prove a capable signing. Van Herden hasnt done anything or had a chance - so we cant comment on him Salgado - has been decent - not special but decent. You want sh!te - think Mokoena, Ward, Grabbi, Danny Simpson, Kevin Davies etc - all were crap!
Shabani Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Salgado has been dreadful everytime i've seen him, easily as bad as Simpson. Van Heerden has played once i think since August and is being offered out to ShefU. That to me makes him a terrible signing Diouf is a waste of a human being who had 3 good games last season and this season has been a total liability
koi Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'm starting to get worried. I don't see any improvement in any area and I don't see anything positive on the pitch.
