Steve Moss Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 There are realistic alternatives to Sam And when he is out of contract we should consider them. In meantime, we should do everything we can to motivate the squad.

broadsword Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 motivating the squad is down to the manager. Letting Allardyce run his contract down means another 2 years of this.
Backroom DE. Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 And when he is out of contract we should consider them. In meantime, we should do everything we can to motivate the squad. All the motivation in the world is useless if the players are being forced to play a style they are clearly not comfortable playing.
BRFC1995 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Given their games in hand you'd have to say megson got sacked for less. Get a new manager before the damage is irrepairable.
1864roverite Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 His only target this week is to ensure that come 5pm on Sunday he still has employment at Ewood. For me I cant stand this anymore. Call of Duty for me, time for my sniper rifle.
gaz1979 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 This will be 11 games without a win im sure ince got sacked for less!
ABBEY Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 OK I GET SLATED FOR CALLING HIM THE EXPERT.....BUT HE HE SELF PROCLAIMED.....COULD WE FIND OUT WHAT HE IS AN EXPERT IN?
Inta Beaver Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Now I understand how Newcastle fans felt, our team is a joke! Do the decent thing Sam!
Backroom Tom Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 Somethings gotta give can't take much more of this sh1te
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Anyone else think a new manager won't change much? Just got this air of inevitability when it comes to Rovers, we have been in decline for years and the sale of our best players has greatly contributed to that. Just got this feeling no manager is going to save us, our squad just ain't good enough and with no funds to make major changes to rectify this i think we are doomed whoever is the manager.
S15 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Give him a contract, the next Beckham. I love how he celebrates like it means something too. Ravanelli celebrations if he gets another.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I love how he celebrates like it means something too. Celtic don't hand out contracts like smarties you know.
Backroom DE. Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 Give him a contract, the next Beckham. I love how he celebrates like it means something too. Eddie Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Yet again we've put out a side at the start that didn't compete and was totally off the pace. Wrong tactics, wrong teams and that makes it very obvious that it is the wrong manager. Every single game we look better when we change the way that we play, change the line-up and move away from this horrible Allardyce anti-football.
Bobby G Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Disgraceful attempt of a performance. No longer has my unconditional support. Next two games to decide his fate in my eyes. But our club wont sack him. Whichever delusional fan thinks this isnt going to be a season to finish 17th, then I have news for you as thats what the target will be. We will scrap for our lives.

Totally agree, we look sop much better when we have the ball on the deck!! And with Andrews out of the line up!!
G Somerset Rover Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Allardyce will still try to spin this one in his post match interview. "We gave them a good a game as anybody has at this place in the second half"..I can see it coming now. We played football for about fifteen minutes in the second half. I go along with the conspiracy theorists who say that the players go against how Sam likes us to play once the game has been lost and then look miles better. 5 goals in 9 games, no win in 9 prem games. God knows how many goals shipped. Ince was quite literally hung out to dry for this kind of record.
chaddyrovers Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 did you think there is any chance in big sam getting sack?? who would be in the frame for the job if that did happen? Curbishley? Shearer? McClaren? Jones?
Bobby G Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I think Sam is living off the reputation he EARNT last season for saving us from relegation. If this had been his first season at the club, he would have been sacked.

To be honest, no matter who is the manager, Sam or anybody else they will be hampered by the trustees refusing to back and support the club with regards to money. But at the same time the tactics / style is all down to the manager. Intrestingly the time rovers played football tonight they were a better team. But the Kick and hope was going nowhere. The trustees have a choice back the club with money or sell it for a quid. Let somebody else spend the forty odd million on changing some of the players.
S15 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 But the lick and hope was going nowhere. Oi, I'll have you know that method has got me out of some sticky situations.
deftangel Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I think Sam is kidding himself if he maintains we don't need fresh blood this transfer window. He carries an air of resignation about him, like he's not really up for it. His recent bleating about us having the chances to win games whilst technically true is a smokescreen. We haven't looked like winning a game for a long while, hence the dire run we're on. The decision last season to appoint him remains the correct one. Ince's reign was terminal, clearly out of his depth he completely lost the plot towards the end. Allardyce spent a good couple of seasons scrapping at the bottom of the league before he hauled Bolton up into mid-table. We're potentially faced with another two years of this waiting to see if he can eventually, given time, pull the same trick with us. That's neither a forgone conclusion nor an impossibility but there is a distinct lack of anything resembling a plan at the minute and that's the worrying thing. We've a few ok players, a couple of raw kids with potential. I am loathe to believe this is literally the best we can get out of them.
PAFELL Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Oi, I'll have you know that method has got me out of some sticky situations. now been edited ok
Ossydave Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 He won't get sacked until we drop into the bottom 3 and they really start flapping. In fairness that could happen in the very near future though...
