Doubt anyone would dare punch him what with his heart condition. But it not only looks like a cut, looks swollen

Coldsore I think, he was showing signs of it on an interview with Sky before the original date for the tie.

I still think finances will dictate this and he won't be sacked but purely from a footballing point of view time's up for me.

Put McDonald in, get some strikers on the pitch and give the players a fighting chance against Fulham and in the return leg.

Stumbled across this barcode fan who studied Sams style whilst he was at Newcastle and was wondering if his style at Rovers had changed much this is what he wrote

"While he was at Newcastle United I had the opportunity to closely observe Sam Allardyce as a manager. At the time of his sacking there was much stuff and nonsense, mostly revolving around managers not being given enough time and fans wanting results too quickly. Both of these criticisms of fans and chairmen in general are pretty accurate in my opinion, however, with Allardyce, my closer observation point afforded me the opportunity to see some very serious faults in his management.

Below I have listed some of these, and I would be interested to know if Blackburn fans have seen any similar perplexities:

1. Team morale - Allardyce seemed to do things that damaged the teams morale. A good example would be the treatment of O. Martins: in the previous season was our top scorer, yet he was relegated to the bench when fully fit. This was even done in home games against strugglers. Another example was refusal to squash rumours that we were going to sign Jaaskalinen when we had too very capable keepers. In both cases the morale of the players concerned would be hammered.

These two things in fact targetted the two players who kept us in the premier league the previous season: Given and Martins.

2. Team to tactics rather then tactics to team - during his time at Newcastle he attempted to mould the team to his tactics. This is all very well, but a really good manager would have used what he was given and played to their strengths. For example, Martins and Owen together on the field. Allardyce insisted this wouldnt work, but almost everyone observing could see it should at least have been tried.

3. Failure to control Joey Barton - injured or not injured, players should not be out on their own getting drunk during the teams most busy fixture period. One good thing Shearer did during his eight games was put in place measures to keep the team together as a unit, such as all eating together at the end of training.

4. Marginalising flair players - Milner on the left, Martins on the bench, Owen on his own up front, N'Zogbia at left back ..."

Anything sound familiar? He doesnt seem to learn lessons easy.

Well maybe its just me but I see a few

Point 1 : How good do you think Bennis morale is knowing Sam wants to ship him out, the fact that basically everybody knows he wants James beattie cant really be good for your new 6 mill striker you have just signed and is sat on the bench game after game, all of this affects other team mates.

Point 2 : no need for an explanation.

Point 3 : Ok this I dont really know the behind the scenes stuff at rovers but we sure as hell dont look like a team on the pitch so are we a team off the pitch?

Point 4 : Marginalising flair players to me this strikes a tone, Straight from the start it was obvious Benni wasnt going to have a future under Sam, players that are a bit unpredictable wouldnt get a look in with Sam and his strict regimes.

I wish people would quit hatin' on the 4-4-1-1. Both of Kalinic's gilt-edged chances came during that formation.

Yo yo yo, whatcha talkin' about kitty cat?! I know I don't quit trippin on this whack ass shout Topman! Formation int all that when it comes to chances, dayum ya defendin' nuthin!

Topman? More like an Alleycat! You just a squirrel tryin' get a nut! Now get on outta here, go on, get! DON"T TOUCH THAT COAT!

Sam has been too stubborn to change things from the start.

We have recovered performances too many times in the second half of games, and until about 2 months ago we usually turned the result around. BUt to follow that up with going back to square one in the first half of the next match beggars belief. Why make the right subs and tactical changes then go back to what failed?

As I said in another post, "HOOF IT AND LOSE IT."

Sam, are you listening, I said, "HOOF IT AND F-CKING LOSE IT."

Are you there yet? One last time, "HOOF IT AND F-CKING LOSE IT."

Eight year olds play that style of football before they have grasped the idea of playing it on the deck!!

You are LOSING it mate ;)

Sam was looking very cagey in the technical area last night wasn't he, he wasn't sure footed and looked genuinely out of sorts to me...

And why is it (unlike other managers) he won't adapt the game plan on the fly so to speak when it obviously isn't working?

First half yesterday, bloody awful, could have changed things around after ten minutes to improve things, nope we had to sit / stand through forty five minutes of drivel... Second half, out comes the team looking completely different to the first half performance wise, I don't think Olsson would have made that much difference to the performance but it was like night and day to me.

I just don't get it.

Its possible that this may have been posted somewhere else - apologies to Freddy:-

Is this Allardyce?

Or is this just fantasy?

Caught in a poor team,

Try to hoof it to victory,

Open your eyes,

Just stop telling lies and see,

We're just a poor team, we have no quality,

Because its easy come, easy go,

Just like that Elrio,

Any way the Blues scores, doesn’t really matter to me,

To me.

Grella, just skinned a man,

Put the ball between his legs,

But he slipped and now he's dead.

Givet's game has just begun,

But Nelsen's gone and thrown it all away.

Roberts!!! Oooohh!!!

Didn’t mean to make us lose,

He couldn't score if we played until tomorrow,

Carry on, carry on, cos we are Blackburn Rovers.

Big Sam, your time has come,

Sends shivers down my spine,

When you say that we played fine .

Goodbye, Pedersen, you’ve got to go,

Gotta leave you far behind with your long throws.

Nikola!!! Oooohh!!! (anywhere the ball goes)

I’m not gonna lie,

I sometimes wish you'd never been bought at all.

I see a little overweight South African,

Benni Mac, Benni Mac, will you do a back heel.

Hoilett quick as lightning, Jacobsen is frightening me.

Franco Di Santo, Franco Di Santo

Franco Di Santo, Franco Di Santo Where's the goal

I don't know

We’re just a poor team, nobody likes us,

He’s just a right-back too old for Madrid,

Spare me this game from this monstrosity.

Dunny, the window, please don’t let him go,

Nzonzi, no, we will not let him go – let him go

Nzonzi, we will not let him go – let him go

Nzonzi, we will not let him go – let him go

We will not let him go – let him go

We will not let him go – let him go

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

I remember very well the discussions at the time of Sam's appointment. Didn't a Newcastle fan warn us? Most of us thought they were just being whingebags that are never happy with any manager they get. They got rid of him a lot earlier into their slide than we look like doing(if at all). One post that I remember is the Newcastle fan talking about a match against Derby County at home. Sam set up the team to defend apparently. Now bare in mind how bad Derby were! None of them could believe it. I thought it was the poster over reacting, but now I know he was spot on.

Sam has one vision and game plan, no matter who we play. He begrudgingly changes things around late on, when everyone knows he should change his starting plan. His tactics worked fantastically well at Bolton and it seems they are set in stone in his mind set. This leads me to believe we are going to be doing groundhog dog every match. If he didn't learn from his Newcastle experience, then he isn't going to learn or change here.

I think John Williams would do well to contact someone that was at Newcastle at the same time as Sam was. I'm sure they'll be very similar. I'm not getting angry about it anymore, I feel like me and the majority of posters are repeating ourselves over and over. There are a few posters that blame the players, who obviously aren't totally blameless, but the majority are thinking the same.

Yes we'll struggle with the financial implications of sacking him, but it'll have to be done sooner or later, because he isn't going to change, not after being like this for years. He was right for the job after Ince, he did what was asked of him with flying colours. Now we need to move forward, wecare moving backwards at a remarkable rate. The first half performances I'm sure are as bad as anyone in the league. If teams we are playing take their chances in the first half, we could seriously end up dead and buried. The longer this goes on the more impact it'll have on the players and the fans. Better teams than us have gone down in the past.

Maybe once we hit rock bottom Sam might change, but the evidence is overwhelming that he won't. The cost of replacing him will be nothing compared with relegation. If we wait too long and end up adrift down near the bottom of the league it'll be difficult to get someone in. Who wants to take over an almost sunk ship? Week by week it'll get more and more difficult to turn this around.

Apologies for any silly typos, long posts on here and iPhones don't go together very well!!

Benny Macarthy can have no complaints about anything. He has a duty to BRFC and South Africa to be at peak fitness and it doesn't appear that he can be arsed.

Whats really sad is if/when he goes to another team he will be on fire and start banging in the goals (for a couple of months anyway while he proves his point)

I actually think we need to get a new manager in. I feel that the players are good enough to be fighting mid-table / top 10 instead of relegation scrap.

It has to be said though that I liked to see Sam's old passion and hunger back in the second half while on the touchline.

Sams gameplan is simple try to contain the other team and pick up a goal through the set pieces, in the first half the team look clueless as to why they havent been told to attack, midfielders dare not pass and move in fear of leaving gaps open and strikers are told to hold up play while the rest of the team lethargically get forward.

This can only lead to the other team scoring and in the second half we have to try to get a goal back hence the reason we play better, what I would like to know is why must we sit back and figure out how they are going to come at us when we are at home in a must win game surely that should be there job.

This season has been a strange one with a lot of attacking teams and plenty of goals scored which means this tactic isnt going to get us anywhere, I feel Sam has certain matches labeled as winnable fixtures I wonder which one Fulham is?

There was a guy in the Blackburn End Lower last night (near the Riverside) stood at the back that tried to get the following chant going:

'Big Sam, give him the sack, or a f&*king hear attack'

Absolutely disgusting.

I heard that chant to, didn't really make out what the young lad said though, if that was the case then just goes to show how many numpties we have supporting our club.
