None cost the same amount.......now go back and compare with those in a similar cost bracket.

1 difference - all have been given a run of games.....Next!

They all cost less you moron. Now I've proven you wrong you've reverted to 'all have been given a run in the team.'

How about 'all have been good enough for the team from day one.'

What a stupid comment - it would only make sense if they cost more. Compare him to other players that were available in the summer in our price bracket, which was between 0 and 6 million.

Just because he isn't as crap as someone else's crap player doesn't make him a good purchase.

I do think he's one for the future, and he will come good, but with our budget, the future is now.

Doyle at Wolves, Fletcher at Burnley and Klasnic at Bolton thanks. All cost less, all have scored more and adapted far quicker.

Next.

Kevin Doyle. Same language and culture as most of his team mates. 154 games in the Prem & Championship(Both stronger leagues than Croatian), as well as FA and League Cup, for Reading scoring 55 goaks. Exactly what "adapting" did he need to do?

Ivan klasnic. 183 games for Werder Bremen and Nantes (Both stronger leagues than Croatian) scoring 59 goals plus38 international games. Only "adapting" he needed to do was language.

Steven Fletcher. Same language and culture as most of his team mates. 156 games for Hibernian(Stronger League than Croatia). Exactly what "adapting" did he need to do?

Sam Fears Impact Of Sack Stories

Sam seems ultra confident that he has longer than 2 games, regardless of results.

SO for tomorrows game already - he has put this story out there + the fact we have had 3 games in 6 days and Fulham will be fresher.

Im sorry but lose tomorrow then he should go. Lose tomorrow and Wednesday and he MUST go!

What exactly is your point?

So all three would have been cheaper and better options than Kalinic. Which is my point. Which you've just emphasised. And your point about Fletcher and the Scottish League is HIGHLY debatable.

Either way, thank you for doing research I would never have gone to the lengths of to add weight to my observation.

A couple of weeks ago we were unlucky but heading in the right direction under Allardyce according to you. How fickle. Sure you'll have some tedious reason for changing you mind so abruptly. Probably peer pressure.

What exactly is your point?

MY POINT WAS THAT AS KALANIC WAS YOUNGER AND LESS EXPERIENCED THAN ALL 3 OPTIONS HE WAS A LARGER RISK(POSSIBLE EXCEPTION KLASNIC DUE TO KIDNEY PROBLEMS) AND THE FACT HE COST MORE THAN ALL 3 MAD EIT AN EVEN BIGGER GAMBLE

So all three would have been cheaper and better options than Kalinic. Which is my point. Which you've just emphasised.

THAT WAS THE PLAN. WOULDVE LOVED TO SEE DOYLE COME IN AT THE START OF THE SEASON.

Either way, thank you for doing research I would never have gone to the lengths of to add weight to my observation.

MY PLEASURE

Do you know what the original discussion was about? It was about Kalinic being a £6m mistake.....explain why he is?

His point was that they are all much more experienced and didnt require as much adapting, therefore have been given more pitch time to get goals. The day Kalinic came in, Sam said he was for the future, not straight away.

We have bought someone who has far more potential and has a much greater re-sale potential too.

As for the manager - a couple of weeks ago he still seemed to have the dressing room, now he doesnt. Without that he wont get far.

Because we look in serious danger of being relegated as our team is very poor. Considering £6m is a monumental amount of transfer money for this club, to spend it on someone who isn't ready to make an impact on the team immediately is ridiculous, especially when every other area of the team needs investment.

The decision to spend £6m on Kalinic may well be a decision that see's us get relegated. That would make it possibly the biggest mistake in history, as once we go, there is no coming back.

Very simple isn't it?

Sorry to change subject but I too picked up on Sam's pre match comments. I think it was on sky - not that article and he was saying how 'Fulham would be fresher', 'were bound to be nackered' etc. Hardly positive from our manager.

He's getting his excuses in nice and early for another crap performance. He can simply come out and say 'well I feared Fulham would be fresher and that's proved the case'.

Enough excuses Sam. 3 points is a must tomorrow. You should realise that if you want to keep your job.

See above Abbey - IF he could get the lads back on his side then id believe he could take us forward, but without them he cant. I think they have got fed up of his arogance and his lack to 'have a go' at certain games......

It would have been nice to read something positive instead of getting the excuses out early doors.

Despite our form lately I genuinely believe we can beat Fulham. We have to come out looking positive, get at them early on and actually look up for the game from the word go. The last thing we want to do is sit back and attempt our long ball counter attacking style that is so ineffective. Unfortunately, I fear that's exactly what we'll do :(

Sam Fears Impact Of Sack Stories

Sam seems ultra confident that he has longer than 2 games, regardless of results.

Smacks of preemptive winging to me.

One would think that if he had the backing of the board --and more importantly: the players-- you would imagine that they would be fired up as hell for this game. You would think they would be ready to bleed for club and manager.

"We are fatigued" sounds rather tired to me.

Sounds more like the players cannot be arsed and that the manager cannot get them motivated.

Motivation should be a swift kick in the ass or docking wages. A few late payments on some cars would do wonders for competitiveness.

Sam - LESS MOANING, MORE FIRE PLEASE.

Gamst- stop being a pussy. Don’t pull out of tackles like a four year old girl.

Andrews – Stay on the ###### bench.

I would rather loose in a blaze of glory than a half assed defensive shower of crap that leads to a loss.

Have pride, kick the ever loving hell out of the opposition, every time they have the ball- you have them by the balls; every time we have the ball, stuff it down their goalies throat until he ###### it into his own net. Every free kick – contest. Every loose ball dive in for it.

Do anything positive!!!!

Not surprised by the content of the piece, but disappointed to see he is using the rumours as a possible excuse in advance for another poor performance later on today.

If the players were really onside with him you'd think they'd run through a brick wall to prove the rumours wrong.

Fulham will be fresher, the rumours will affect the players..............

Is there going to be any point turning up?

Edit: I see rebelmswar beat me to it with some of the same points.

I sometimes think that Sam views himself at war with the board, as much as the opposing manager. Doom and gloom interviews in an effort to shake more money free. I'm not saying that's what he's doing but that's the impression I sometimes get.

Kalinic has not looked poor since his first outing. Since then he's demonstrated that he is evereything we could want in a striker and the goals will come. Di Santo is energetic and tough. Hoilett has pace and desire. Jones and Olson are chomping at the bit for a first team spot. N'Zonzi and Chimbonda have lived up to expectations and then some. Emerton is generally fit and plays well. Dunn is a gem, even though he's injured half the time. Despite some recent missteps, Samba and Nelson are generally solid defenders. Grella and Givet are both competent. Robinson is a worst average and at his best England squad material.

There is a better than average starting 11 in that mix. All Sam has to do is reconcile himself to the fact that Andrews, Roberts, Benni, EHD and MGP (despite his recent uptick I don't rate him) should be left on the bench if at all possible. Focus on the team that shows up and plays (the preceeding paragraph) and we will move up the table.

Good post and I've said recently I don't think Sam is the right man to take us forward but it would be beneficial to us if he can get it together starting tomorrow and comfortably get us through this season and then things can be assessed in summer so a panic appointment wouldn't need to be made now.

I agree 'mum - on both counts. The position wead for are in, I reckon, is what Hughes had forseen and the reason he looked for the exit door.

Also, some fans have short memories.

A mark of desperation given that we have no money in the pipeline and have a manager who, for whatever reason, is COMPLETELY out of touch.

Fans are rebelling, they've gotten used to us punching above our weight, and they've not taken kindly to us hiring someone who couldn't find his hands with both hands, and then employing someone who's shown himself to be a figurehead for the efforts of a cast of millions at Bolton.

It's like we're in a hot air balloon, we're running out of propane, but everyone's insisting that we maintain altitude 'cos we're having such a good time. But slowly, the altitude is going.

Amen to that, but why drop them? ;)

I think Nelsen and Samba are good defenders. I also think they've looked slow and tired recently. Not knocking them but maybe a rest for week or two might freshen them up a bit.

A couple of weeks ago we were unlucky but heading in the right direction under Allardyce according to you. How fickle. Sure you'll have some tedious reason for changing you mind so abruptly. Probably peer pressure.

Until recently I was 100% Sam. While I am still behind him, reservations are now settling in. While I think he has been handicapped by some players with attitudes and whom we need to get rid of, ultimately he's responsible. If there are bad apples he needs to act accordingly. Sell them or send them down to the reserves. If he can't contain the problem, and put points on the board, then Sam has to go.

As to mind changing, I can't speak for Hughsey but if I get additional information, my opinions can change. And I don't think Sam needs to win tomorrow (though it would be nice). A draw would be acceptable, with a fighting show at Villa, followed by wins against both Wigan and West Ham. If he can accomplish that, and he should be able to, then he'll have re-affirmed that he's the man to take the Rovers to the northside of 40 points. If he doesn't, then he isn't.
