Hughesy Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 so dunn has told u that Sam has lost the dressing room and you have shared that info on a message board ? If it is true I think you are both pathetic. I never mentioned him saying anything about the dressing room - im just saying what I heard was via him. DOH!

rebelmswar Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 See above Abbey - IF he could get the lads back on his side then id believe he could take us forward, but without them he cant. I think they have got fed up of his arogance and his lack to 'have a go' at certain games...... I see. So you've changed your mind cos Nicko told you there was a bust up after the City game. Like i said; "Fickle." No it came via Dunn personnely? or via a rat in dunnys biscuit barrel? Yes Unless you ment the rat I think that is pretty cut and dry. You shouldnt worry though, these things will all be known shortly anyway I am sure. If a player like Dunn is unhappy and willing to tell you about it: the whole dressing room must be in a bad way. I can only asume that is why you have made the drastic U-turn on your support of the manager. Fair play to you for seeing the light when given good evidence.
Mr. E Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 So even though Sam gets that nice, composed, objective view from the stands, he still decides to play a team containing Andrews, Salgado, Pedersen, Diouf and/or Roberts. Fills you with confidence, doesn't it?
S15 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 So Hughesy says he talks to Dunn now. Should make for some belters.
Ricky Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 At least we know who was to blame for the "games off" text... Bloody dunny!!!!!
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 His words are relatively agreeable; however, we need wins. I frankly believe if things are going well he can sit up there as it gives a better view. Starting with today. But considering all the mumblings of whats going on at Ewood Park, the situation may be a bit far from being rectified behind the scenes.
ABBEY Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I never mentioned him saying anything about the dressing room - im just saying what I heard was via him. DOH! YOU SAID PERSONNALLY FFS!!!!!!! So Hughesy says he talks to Dunn now. Should make for some belters. One minute he says its from him personnlly and then next its VIA him.....whats that i smell ,oh i know its BS. At least we know who was to blame for the "games off" text... Bloody dunny!!!!! haha it was via him now tho.
AggyBlue Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 .....whats that i smell ,oh i know its BS. Big Sam??
S15 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Big Sam probably is making some foul smells considering what's emerged in nickos thread today.
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Goal.com says that Mark Hughes is watching events at Blackburn closely. Could that be true?
RovertheHill Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Poor Hughesy, he can't win on here! He supports the manager and he gets called deluded and personally insulted, and has loads of people spending ages trying to convince him he's wrong. When he changes his mind he still gets it in the neck. You'd think after all that effort they'd be pleased?
thenodrog Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 "Big Sam frowns at the "C" word" says the LET headlines tonight. Well he'll be frowning when I'm calling him it all Sunday afternoon. The word surprisingly was Championship, not C***. Well I've been to a Championship game today, and if that was anything to go by bring it on. Blackpool v QPR wasn't the best game at Bloomfield according to the locals, but nevertheless there was plenty of exitement, goalmouth action, tackles flying in, commitment and above all SKILL, something I'd forgotten existed in football. I'm not saying these teams are the match for many Premier Teams but I certainly enjoyed the game more than I have one at Ewood for a while. Charlie Adam was the best player on show, not a world beater but better than what we have, dissapointed to hear he is already 25, if he was this good at 20 he could have been a very good player. By the way, Chamionship referees are no better than the Premier League ones, but at least they're bad for both sides. Best division in the country imo for entertainment. The 'Premier league is wonderful' is a myth that if people hear repeated often enough will believe. The Prem is a big 4/5 with everybody else cannon fodder simply hoping to avoid relegation and the financial penalties that that involves. Couple of points to consider... 1. 2 years ago at Easter only 1 club (QPR) knew they were playing in the Fizzy Pop league the season after. 2. Approx 60% of the players in Div 1 would have been playing in the Prem in the early 90's..... if that make sense.
thenodrog Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 just in from work............and he's still our manager, damn just read some sky story about kalinic's confidence, what planet is this fella on. Its not a confidence thing if he does'nt score its a ready made excuse for the manager to shirk his way out of admitting a £6m mistake........thanks for doing something right last season but now you just need to go. 1. 6m mistake BRFC1995? I'd just glad that we spent 6m on Kalinic rather than Di Santo. 2. 'you just need to go'? Possibly so. But how much will changing the manager and his team cost and who would you personally seek to replace him with? Rem... If your choice is no better then the whole exercise would have been a waste of time and cost the equivalent of a new midfielder.
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 The lineup is just about what we all want. Lets wait and see the performance...
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Just killing time waiting for kick-off and decided to look at the goals/gales ratio of Sam's signings in the league this season. He signed 9 players for around 13 million(4 defenders, 3 midfield and 2 strikers), so nearly an entire team. Between them, they have made 97 starts, call it 11 each, and scored a pathetic 6 goals. Very poor by any standard, and yet he wants more money.

Also got to look at circumstances, he was brought in an emergency situation intially, and last summer as a club, we were not in a position to resist bids for our best players (whereas under Hughes for example, we could do so). Do agree he could have spent money more wisely, but no manager gets it 100% right in the transfer market.

It's the way they've been playing on the pitch which is the issue.
Steve Moss Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 We’ve beaten Fulham at home and are sitting on 24 points. Updating my prior predictions which resulted in an estimated range of 36-49 points (42-44 best guess), we should now end the season at between 38-49 points (43 points is my guess). No movement on the north end but our floor is up two, which is good. That may be enough by itself to avoid relegation, based on the performance of the teams below us. This is how I see the balance of the season progressing : Wigan (h) Win (27 points) West Ham (a) Draw or Win (28 or 30 points) Stoke (a) Draw (29 or 31 points) Hull (h) Win (32 or 34 points) Bolton (h) Win (35 or 37 points) Liverpool (a) Loss (35 or 37 points) Birmingham (h) Loss or Draw (35, 36 or 38 points) Spurs (a) Loss (35, 36 or 38 points) Chelsea (h) Loss or Draw (35-39 points) Burnley (a) Draw or Win (36-42 points) Portsmouth (a) Draw or Win (37-45 points) Man United (h) Loss (37-45 points) Everton (h) Loss or Draw (37-46 points) Wolves (a) Draw or Win (38-49 points) Arsenal (h) Loss (38-49 points) Villa (a) Loss (38-49 points) For all his faults, it looks as if Sam will keep us up. That is no small thing. Two things need to happen next year, though. First the board needs to unload 4-6 players from the squad and replace them with some young quality. While we’ll make it this year, next year I think the competition will be much fiercer. Second the board needs to consider Sam’s replacement. Next year is his last year. With his health, I doubt he’ll want to continue in management after that. Especially as his retirement target was 55 years. With this an issue, the board needs to comb the planet for a young-ish, energetic, smart and skilled manager. Owen Coyle, anyone? We'll be a step up from Bolton and maybe the cooties will have worn off by then. And imagine the Burnely rage.
Miker Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Mediocre performance, but signs of football towards the end tonight. As someone who still believes Sam should stay and hasn't changed his mind like Hughesy, I want to say that we should back the manager and put faith in the team. Maybe now that we have a win and people are a bit more level headed they will turn back their attention to the fact that this is going to be a largely transitional season. The team looks good and can play some very nice football at times, but there are far too many errors happening for it to really work on a regular basis. I have faith that towards the end of the season, the team will minimise the errors and learn to play together to give us good football and good results. People have talked about Sam not taking us forward, but looking on the pitch today seeing Kalinic, Hoilett, Olsson, N'zonzi and even Samba (who is young by defender standards) makes me excited about the future. If we do manage to get Di Santo permanently and he improves his form then that's yet another promising youngster. So yes, I put my faith in the team and the manager. Things aren't as depressing as people make it seem on here.
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think we need to maximize points from the next 5 cause after that its going to be some work getting points on the table.
47er Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Well you're all going to have to put the knives away at least for another week!
alexanders Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Time to back the manager and the board giving him money to buy a top man! Its not pretty on the eye and i am not 100% convinced yet, but just thinking about the alternatives makes me sick. He is the best possible manager for us as today.
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think if the knives go away this week, then they have to be shelved for a while cause we only have 12-13 days for the window and with no games next weekend, until the 27th, we should be doing some wheeling and dealing.
