philipl Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Maybe it was Phil Brown who was the brain behind the Bolton operation too? Brown comes across very well in the interviews I've read. Hammer, nail, head from what I have heard. Still credit to BFS for putting together a team that really worked- unlike a certain former Manager of the Rovers I can think of.

DanLad Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hammer, nail, head from what I have heard. Still credit to BFS for putting together a team that really worked- unlike a certain former Manager of the Rovers I can think of. I heard that one of the catering ladies was the REAL brains behind the operation... She's since moved on to Hoffenhein in the Bundesliga, probably, so it must be true...
RevidgeBlue Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 There's only one option for me. Allardyce - and back him heavily in the January transfer window. Then back him some more. As a certain politician once said "there is no alternative."
gazsimm Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 big sam if my favourite for the new job. I think he is the only guy who is avaliable who might be able to get us out of the mess that Ince has put us in.
tony gale's mic Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 Hammer, nail, head from what I have heard. Rubbish...Brown left in 2005 and Allardyce took Bolton to 8th and 7th in the following two seasons.
waggy Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 There's only one option for me. Allardyce - and back him heavily in the January transfer window. Then back him some more. As a certain politician once said "there is no alternative." please no
RevidgeBlue Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 please no What would your suggestion be then Waggy?
waggy Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 What would your suggestion be then Waggy? ain't got one and cannot believe jw has sacked ince without a replacement
broadsword Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 It's pretty common to sack managers without a new manager having been identified, so i don't know why it's so hard to believe. It's done on the basis of things being so bad that a caretaker would do a better job while a replacement is found. Pretty simple stuff, really.
Mr Creosote Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 ain't got one and cannot believe jw has sacked ince without a replacement Who said he hasn't got a replacement? Do you know something we dont?
gazsimm Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 ain't got one and cannot believe jw has sacked ince without a replacement i cannot believe you still wanted Ince to be our manager as well Waggy. Any true Rovers fan (which i doubt you are ) wanted Ince out and only you and your little fan club were backing Ince. I am sure williams will not make the same mistake again and apoint someone with experience like big Sam.

tony gale's mic Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 Looks like this man could be our next manager....
tony gale's mic Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 Alright pedro, if he comes in, saves our club and takes us to safety I trust you'll still be protesting then?
AussieinUk Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Tough call, but BFS could be the man to bring Rovers out of the 'brown stuff'... At the moment there is not a lot of choice. I wasn't one advocating his appointment in June/July this year, but I also wasn't one of the fans deriding him not to join through silly methods such as 'Facebook' and other rubbish social networking websites. As I voted in the poll... Its either BFS, or Mancini for me.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 ain't got one and cannot believe jw has sacked ince without a replacement Not being funny but employment law says you cannot have a replacement before you sack someone. It is classed as prejudging the outcome of the disciplinary hearing. Even after sacking someone, you have to give time for appeal before employing someone as this can be deemed as prejudging the outcome of the appeal.
alexanders Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Do you think Allardyce has been scouting players while he has been unemployed and therefore have a list of players he would like to bring to Ewood or Stadium of Light?
gillibrand Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I always thought Big Sam was a better manager than Hughes and light years ahead of the useless plonker we have just removed, he is perfect for our situation even more now!
67splitscreen Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Don't follow the bookies myself, but just heard they've stopped taking bets on BFS. :angry2:
Iceman Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 ain't got one and cannot believe jw has sacked ince without a replacement we know Waggy's other alternative, would be to bring Ince Back..Aint that right Wags... I suppose Ince has gone from Riches to Wags Not being funny but employment law says you cannot have a replacement before you sack someone. It is classed as prejudging the outcome of the disciplinary hearing. Even after sacking someone, you have to give time for appeal before employing someone as this can be deemed as prejudging the outcome of the appeal. This time the Law was meant to be broken, Arrest us please officer
T4E Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I'm on board with getting Sam in now. He's the best, safest and most logical choice by far. A couple of years ago when he was at Bolton we'd have been over the moon with him taking over from Sparky. Forget Newcastle, this is a good manager and the right man for us.
tchocky Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Don't think he did that badly at Newcastle. Wasn't that just Ashley wanting to get his own man in?
T4E Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Exactly, thats the reason to forget Newcastle. When it comes to managers they could fail with Fergie at the helm.
