It is interesting seeing the names associated with the managerial vacancy at Hull, Megson Dowie etc. None of whom we would want or even consider. I just dont see a manager out there who would be a better replacement for Allardyce. As such, this should temper any critisms of him and we should be grateful for what we have got.

(For completeness sake I know that Hughes is theoretically available but he would never come back in the present context )

Maybe try using it yourself? Blackberry's not blackberry but don't worry Pet. I can call you what I like mate is an expression, its not offensive, look back at your previous messages, you called me Emma, see me crying and whining?

You try being humourous then are all angry and annoyed when you get it back...

You don't like it then put me on ignore...

Emma was result of not checking spell checker ...I'd buy you. Beer and chat to you before the chelsea game but hey you don't go home or away do you.(not a dig at anyone else before I'm hung again)

GAV, Tris, Abbey, Waggy etc...

There is a lot of @#/? posted over the last couple of hundred pages about how things aren't right at the club because of the manager, and you guys are responsible for a lot of it.

Still holding the same line, or are any of you big enough to admit that the bloke is doing a very good job given the lack of resources at his disposal?

Never has a season ticket come with so many home points (and essentially this is all I give a flying f*** about), so well done Sam, and improve the away record by just 30% or so (Burnley, Wolves and Pompey are great opportunities) and just like Mark Hughes, you would have to be defined as an 'over performing' Rovers manager.

Oh and I appreciate there are more than the four people I've named at the top who this applies to, but their posts certainly rank towards the top end of the 'bullshit-o-meter.'

:rover: shitto asked the question i answered it pillock :brfcsmilie:

Well put wagster, I obviously hit a nerve.

I understand people not wanting to watch the style of football we play, thats fine. What I dont understand is that you choose not to go to Ewood but watch the very same game in the pub!

Sam has done a very good job this season, a mid table club is what we are and mid table is where we currently stand. I am confident next season will be better, the style of football may not improve but I think we will grind out more results. Sam may not be the choice of some fans but we need to show our manager support and and give credit where credit is due.

The bit in bold is why people need to stop using football based reasoning to argue with Waggy. His dislike for Sam is personal, not football related. Like he says, that wont change. Quite why people keep giving him the platform to profess a personal dislike for our manager is beyond me.

After these two results, we could even see Rovers finishing in 10th place (althought I think it'll probably still be more like 12 / 13)!

Allardyce has done a sensational job. Our home record, in particular, is unbelievable. Oh, and we got to a cup semi final.

Imagine if we had sacked him as many were calling for...

I've already said you can't educate a brick, but here goes :D

My biggest gripe was boring negative tactics at home and even more so, a lack of effort, tactical ability and general interest to get points away from home.

Now the home form has been good, nobody can deny that, but the style of football isn’t the best, I can live with that, which is a step in the right direction because earlier in the season I couldn’t handle the cr@p tactics and general percentage football we churned out at home.

Now away from home he’s done nothing that would make me pay to go week in week out. The Liverpool performance was the best in a while, but still we have far too many lacklustre displays with little or no ambition to get a positive result other than a 0-0 draw.

So my thoughts on the manager haven’t changed that much to answer your question.

If we win on Sunday though, his pictures going up above our bed, sorry TRS yours is coming down....

Reading the match report thread it's interesting to see that some will never be happy.

We are in 11th place, winning home games (if we win at home more are likely to turn up), and starting to look like a better all around side.

Allardyce's style may not suit those used to watching Brazil 1982 but it's what he does well at, and will continue to do so. He has made a couple of comments to the press recently regarding 4-5-1 v 4-4-2 and we also have people taking the mick about his 'expert' comment. Well, he is an expert, he does know what he is doing, and he will keep us up. It will never be fast free flowing football as we don't have the money to buy players that will allow us to do that, so we have to compensate by being highly organised.

He's not everyone's cup of tea, and we do play some sh!te now and again, but it's mid table security sh!te.

Next season will be telling. He will get more of 'his' players in and will have yet another pre-season to mould his ideas into the squad.

Gav, I understand your gripe about away form, an away day is a good day out, but I think Allardyce has decided to let the home form keep us up and not bother with away as of yet. However, the more we get at Ewood the more money the club makes and the longer he is here the better our away form will get.

Next season is key.... this is a big summer.

We have already shifted 1 fat donkey in Benni, saving us a nice big chunk of cash...next up Reid is out of contract so that could be another 30k shaved off the budget. We have tied up the contract of Dunn & Hoilett too so that saves time in the summer.

We then have a few squad members who contribute little and therefore earn money for nothing - Zurab being one. We then have a couple of players who people see as 'not premiership quality' - such as Roberts, Andrews & Brown.

Next season we will have Kalinic, NZonzi, Jones & Hoilett who are all young but will of grown in confidence, will have much better experience to help them prepare and they should only improve further.

Another key to our summer is keeping 1 man - SAMBA!

....and that I find absolutely disgusting, to treat the fans that follow the club away from with such contempt is criminal.

Just one of the reasons he’ll never be popular I’m afraid, that coupled with his big gob and constant outbursts in the media, he does himself no favours.

But I stand by what I said above, win Sunday and his framed picture is going above our bed.

After a summer where the board had Allardyce operate on a budget of -£15 million, he has pretty much secured safety for us already and brought through a number of very promising youngsters. His persona is not the best, we had a bad mid-season wobble and the away form is still terrible but Sam IS doing a very good job.

Another good win last night and many of the posts on here are still negative. Unbelievable.
