Claytons Left Boot Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Dont jump the gun...... he's not signed yet. Betfair still taking money laying against him. Admittedly not much. But he's a tough negotiator Damn! That was on the strength of a text from my lad. He'll come (she cried).

Mr Creosote Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 The best eqipped to bring us back if we go down and the right man for the job. We now need to cut out the bickering and get behind Allardyce whether we like him or not. Gillibrand, leave it alone!
Karembeu Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Sad to see Ince go but Sam had always been my man for the job. I do hope he did a great job for us. (But I guess, we can get any worse right? ) lol
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 He wsn't my first choice in the Summer but I wanted him a damn sight more than I wanted Ince. Things have changed dramatically since then, at this moment in time he's our only sensible choice. I don't know wether he can work the miracle but nobody else out there will give us a better chance. At least we'll show some fight now. Not sure how he'll get on with Dunny after the famous last minute jilting. It's the first time I've felt optimistic about Rovers for at least 3 months !

My thoughts exactly!
1864roverite Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 At least now, we have a manager that has his own identity, is confident enough to admit his shrtcomings, is honest and has the suitable tact, nouse and experience of managing a football club at the highest level. I would expect Sam to get a grip of these players of ours and if I was a Stoke fan, I dont think I would be wanting to face Rovers on Saturday. The season begins in earnest, its time to regroup, be friends and let the memories (or lack of them) of Ince's regime be consigned to the annuls. Another good thing that he will bring is that any player who thinks he is better and bigger than the club will find himself on the sidelines and out fo the club faster than Ince left yesterday.

You won't persuade me.

Hope that applies to useless "coaches" as well...cough winterbun..cough
Backroom Tom Posted December 17, 2008 Backroom Posted December 17, 2008 Lets hope this has happend now, love him or hate him what he did at Bolton was superb and I feel he is the man to give us some bite back and keep us up. Also I'm sure he's been keeping a close eye on us recently and should have a good idea already what he wants to do with the team.
Al Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Time to all get together, stop our squabbling and unite behind our new manager. I'm even taking Bucky off ignore as a gesture of unity.
Cocker Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Time to all get together, stop our squabbling and unite behind our new manager. Well said. If he is to become the new manager then we should all get behind him. I am one person that didn't want him in the summer but now I feel stupid for not wanting him in. At least we know that he will play people in their correct positions and get the training sorted.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 CONFIRMED!!!! 3 YEAR DEAL BIG SAM IS OUR MANAGER!
