What?

L. FAIR PLAY IN FOOTBALL

Fair play in football means that EVERYONE connected with football:

(a) shows understanding of and respect for the Laws of the Game;

(B) supports the belief that the game should be played in an entertaining and positive way; and

© behaves on and off the fi eld in a sporting manner towards all others involved, be they

players, officials or spectators, irrespective of results.

I think he was trying to be funny?

Blackburn Rovers & Sam Allardyce have been charged with a breach of Rule L section b relating to fair play in football. Given seven days to respond to the charge. Possible points deduction?

Stoke also charged.

Joking right?

But anyway who cares?

1. If it's about Olssen diving it's the thin end of the wedge. And they won't want the thick end publicising.

2. Best criticism of their officials possible and a huge argument for video technology which they don't want.

this is the most young talent playing regularly we've had in ages - dare I say since our promotion season, and this is what he's getting at.

spot on....

other managers have had youth, but have never given them a consistent run in the side since souness did in that promo year

MY boss? I don't have a boss (other than my wife!).

My office? I don't have an office!

What you did Hughesey was to support Sam to the hilt and blast anyone on the board who attacked him. Then we had a sequence of bad results and you were writing him off just like loads of others on here. "2 games to save his job'. Once those 2 games were won and the crisis was over you went back to being an enthusiastic supporter of the manager and berating those who were not as if nothing had happened! Anyway, only writing it in fun, I agree with you much more often than I don't.

I agree, I was surprised at your posts Hughesy and lost whatever respect I may have had for your posts at that point. The thing about that bad run was that it was blown out of proportion because we were only halfway through the season and not in the relegation zone and our excellent home form was still intact. I mentioned this time and time again and pointed out that the losing streak was a result of a lack of confidence and unstable lineup that was being changed and experimented with as Sam was trying to get the formula right, but was largely ignored by most on the board.

The losing run was bad, but it was far from being a disaster - it was just made to seem like that by the people who hold a grudge against Sam due to his time with Bolton, and posters like Hughesy cracked and jumped on the bandwagon.

We can say a lot of things about Sam, and most of it will come down to opinion, but the facts that I see is that he has been trying to get this team playing successful football since day 1 and he is gradually building us up as a force in the Premier League after taking over when the club was truly in a disastrous position. Some of his tactical decisions and substitutions have been spot on, and others have failed miserably. But I can't think of too many instances where he's got it wrong since that bad run (besides Stoke) and we've been competitive in every game.

I'm happy to see that people are giving Sam a chance now because I firmly believe that he can take us to the next level, or at least bring us back to the level we were in under Hughes.

Seeing that old Sam thread brought home again the tendency of Newcastle to sign violent loons. Latest being these two.

On the Newcastle subject. Someone on here had Bentley's free kick against them as their Sig. Can some body IM that to me???? I was trying to explain it to a friend and that Sig was the best visual of the bend on the ball but I can't find it here now.

You could've given that a better build up than just sticking a link in there!

true! I was just following on from the April fools gag - I should probably have started a separate thread to see how many people were fooled!

:brfc::rover: you have to congratulate lard@rse on the use of youth,i always like to see young players coming through, but its his persistence to give ageing rockstars 40k contracts i do not like

i take it you are on about Salgado with that coment then Waggy. If you had actually watched the games live at the grounds recently, you would know that Salgado has been great for us in recent weeks!!!

let's not underestimate the impact of having a seasoned pro for the youngsters to pick up good habits from. By all accounts, he trains like a demon still and leads by example with everything he does.

i know some fans can't stand thinking about the amazing success big sam had at bolton, but it was down to his blend of old pro's and younger guys that did so well for them.

7 points out of the last 9 and 8th in the Premier league form table! That post exhibits pathetic timing for a comment even from you 'mard@rse'. You are seriously struggling for credibility and you have become a sad man with a silly vendetta and every week makes your continuing attempts to damage BRFC appear more stupid. Reading this board and it's obvious that you are virtually on your own now.

Sooner or later your criticisms will be valid cos that is the way it is in football but until then you need to pipe down for your own good as well as that of the club. Your time will inevitably come so until then just sup your ale in the Walmesley on match days as far away from the TV screens as possible and I guarantee you'll feel much better for it.

Note the time arry. Just back from the pub and all filled up with ale and righteous indignation. Too late to edit even if I wanted too...... and I don't. :rover:

What you on about Theno?

Waggy was actually giving Sam credit for something, so your attack on was unnecessary to say the least.

Anyway, my take on Sam. He's done reasonably well with what he's been given and brought through a few good young players (though I still think N'Zonzi is very overrated). However, the football is still ###### poor and we're yet to look like a proper football team away from home apart from the odd occasion. There is one thing that really sticks in my throat about him which is that he is an incredibly obnoxious git. When we win games or play well he refers to our club as 'we', but when we lose or play poorly it's 'they'. Petty it may seem, but this really grates on me...

Despite this, I'm not too sure there are many managers out there that are better suited to the job than him. I'd take Sparky back in a shot though...

I've met him in passing, seemed alright. Sadly the majority can only judge him based off his sometimes ridiculous pre and post match interviews. "I'm the expert" will live long in the memory.

Looking at the league tables now and when he took over...he obviously is "the expert".

If you go through this thread, we have gone round in circles on the debate whether Sam should be our manager.

Whilst results have changed some opinions, some still dont like Sam but you can only respect what he has done for me, its about whats best for the club and he is the best manager for us plus to start thinking about finishing much higher than 10th is dream land stuff considering we have little/no money.

Actually the manager sums things up quite well in his comments last week. Reckon it has been a good season (so far), plus the high turnover of players from the summer has meant the season did not start with a stable side so it has taken time for the team to settle down. We are also fortunate that some of the younger players have been able to make an impact.

Credit has to go to the manager, whether fans etc like him personally or not. Other clubs are starting to fear playing us again and the pride is slowly returning. Generally, things are looking positive again, for now....

Keyboard warrior response there Gordon?

It'll have worked if I've stopped his infantile postings.

I seem to have stopped yours too btw regarding the myths surrounding old Golden Balls. Nice to see that you have taken my opinion about his lack of all round ability on board. ;)
