Christ, People complained about Ince being appointed before a game had even been played. People complained when Ince was in the job (regardless of how we were doing)

Now people are complainin about Big Sam being appointed....

Just because you think he's "Bolton through and through" doesn't mean he wont do well for us.

You could have said Hughes was United "through and through" but he seemed to do alright.

The point being; Give the man a chance.

We've become a team of rejects. A Newcastle reject as our manager, a Spurs reject as our goalkeeper, and the list goes on.

Plus, as I said. I'm pretty confident Souness would have stayed this time if he was successful with us. He has nowhere to go. Fat Sam however is going to dump us and leave us in the sh&t too. Even if he does well, soon we will be looking for a now manager again and sliding down the table. Even if we do survive this season, there is no possible way we can progress, because we will be left for dead as soon as another wealthier club loses its manager.

ha, not a very impressive list. two questions:

don't you think the appointment will mean we survice?

who would you have preffered?

please, settle down.

He wsn't my first choice in the Summer but I wanted him a damn sight more than I wanted Ince. Things have changed dramatically since then, at this moment in time he's our only sensible choice. I don't know wether he can work the miracle but nobody else out there will give us a better chance. At least we'll show some fight now. Not sure how he'll get on with Dunny after the famous last minute jilting.

It's the first time I've felt optimistic about Rovers for at least 3 months !

Absolutely bang on.

Feeling very optimistic about the rest of the season (and for me it's been more than 3 months since that feeling). The board should be credited with acting so decisively when they finally felt enough was enough.

He'll either do bad and we'll go down, or he'll do well and f*** off as soon as another door opens. And the whole thing starts all over again. A team can not be build if we have to change managers every half a season.

I'm just looking at the situation realistically, something many are afraid to do.

but if souness was appointed we would still have a newcastle reject as a manager..... ;)

and souness has already left us once before. once bitten twice shy

Thursdays bbc gosip page:

Allardyce will make a janurary move for Bolton playmaker Kevin Nolan (Daily Star)

Big Sam will cash in on striker Roque Santa Cruz to fund a move for out of favour Sunderland striker, El Hadji Diouf (the sun)

Former Rovers record flop Kevin Davies is on his way back to Ewood Park in a swap deal, with Jason Roberts moving in the opposite direction with his old boss, Gary Megson (the dailly sh*tter)

Friedel=Liverpool reject?

Warnock=Liverpool reject?

Bentley=Arsenal reject?

Santa Cruz=Munich reject?

McCarthy=Porto reject?

Well done for making a pointless post. Now get behind the team :brfcsmilie:

So many things to question in this post. Wasn't Bentley an Arsenal reject? Wasn't Brad a Liverpool reject? You could even say Rocky is a Bayern reject. Especially for a club of our size we need to take such players and get them playing to their top potential which bigger clubs can't be bothered taking the effort to.

As for a reject newcastle manager - so are quite a few others, who've had a fair bit of success elsewhere. I don't think that can be held against him.

As for progressing there's a heck of a lot of progressing that Sam can give us. Starting with a right mid and being solid at the back. Even if Sam can't take us any further than Hughes - he can certainly redress the horrible regression we've had under Ince. And I warrent to put it right will take more than the 6 months it took to get us into our current plight.

Not too happy with having Diouf at the club by a long shot, but would be happy with Nolan and if we can swap Davies for Roberts it'd be one of the best pieces of business in the transfer window.

Warnock is utter p&nts, but the rest are examples that we have gotten lucky with. However, it can't work every time. And I am quite confident that it wont with this man.

BFS as our manager, Robinson at goal, Diouf in attack....Rovers are quickly becoming an assemble of my most hated people in football.

Do people forget so quickly what a mess Souness left us in when he went to Newcastle! The team was rubbish and we were heading for relegation before Hughes saved us. Souness was about two defeats away from getting sacked and we got compensation, so it worked out really well for us.

I can't say I am thrilled about BFS's appointment but he seems the best candidate at the moment to get the best out of the current squad and work on a shoe string. If dire football is the price that we have to pay for being saved from oblivion in the championship, then so be it.

Was Samba a reject? Bellamy? The list goes on.

Could you at least give an argument, rather than just rant about your own hysteria.

The poll earlier says it all. The majority want Sam and his experience look like a good bet to make us perform better.

Any England left back isnt pants.. he hasn't been great recently but that comment is daft.

Got lucky? I prefer shrewd business in signing out of favour players.

If you are correct than any good signing is lucky. :blink:

I have posted exactly why it will be bad for the club even if BFS does good. He'll leave us and we'll be back where we started - going down. And then hopefully people will realize its our own damn fault for picking people who don't care about our club to manage us, and not whoever the poor new manager will be with no resources left to save us.

We didn't learn our lesson from Hughes, and now we'll pay for it. Enjoy the slow demise of this club.
