FourLaneBlue Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 You might not care about the home you sell but I thought the Walker Trust always had the best interests of the club at heart? It seems you, I and many others thought wrong. Whether or not they cared in the past, they just seem to want shut of the club now...

Craigman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Sam down to 8/1 to be next Aston Villa manager ! with Skybet
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 If they make an enquiry he is gone. Sam will have been incredibly frustrated with the business done during this transfer window and ultimately may feel he has taken us as far as he can. Yeah i know there is the potential takeover, but he will know more than we do about whether it will go ahead or whether the new owner would want to keep him as manager. Remember, Sam walked from Bolton as he thought he couldn't progress them any further...
1864roverite Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 if I was an Everton fan I would be very concerned about Moyes odds across the board whereas A is only low odds with Skybet. Everywhere else he is 33-1. Says to me he isnt being considered and is defoo not a favourite.

Sam may ait to see what develops from Syed's situation. If that does crumble, he will take the first offer that comes along.
Hughesy Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Remember, Sam walked from Bolton as he thought he couldn't progress them any further... With a potential £300m investment a couple of weeks away?? He would be mad to take the Villa job just now - only 1 way for them, and thats downwards!

He would be mad to take the Villa job just now - only 1 way for them, and thats downwards! Unless .... maybe Syed has his own ideas about who he wants as manager, and it isn't Sam - and Sam knows it? Maybe what's been published is a front? Guess we'll find out - Sam's odds are shortening, and there's no smoke without fire.
rebelmswar Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Sam's odds are shortening, and there's no smoke without fire. Dry Ice.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The main thing that worries me about this is that I can't see why Moyes would want to move from Everton who are run frugally to Villa who are likely to be run increasingly frugally in future. At both those Clubs though their definition of "no money" seems vastly different to ours so I would have thought Sam would jump at the chance if actually offered the role.

Do you honestly believe that he would so soon after getting his fingers so scolded at Newcastle - with their fans delusions of grandeur?
mark1875 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 try check the odds on skybet's site for the next villa manager, page no longer available? anyone have a link
DeadlyDirk Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 try check the odds on skybet's site for the next villa manager, page no longer available? anyone have a link Just use OddsChecker then you can keep up to date with all of the odds, SkyBet's are down at the moment, they're probably just updating their prices or have switched them off for the night. Quite a few sites seem to in case anything happens through the night and they get caught out, I guess they don't have many people on a night shift at SkyBet!

waggy Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 i,m no fan of l@rdarse but this transfer window has been a disgrace.the indians are intrested in buying rovers, but i suspect there intrest is brockhall.if villa want him he will walk, and i will be in heaven
Hughesy Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 im no fan of l@rdarse if villa want him he will walk, and i will be in heaven So will the rest of the Dingle brigade!

But till that happens, you remain at home, wallowing in cuckoo land. Sam has put a good squad of young players together, mixed with experience. Rovers finished 10 last season, semi final of the carling cup, yet that is not good enough for you. Why did Rovers finish 10th? Oh yes, down to Big Sam and the players.

philipl Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 TheBig_Sam Can't believe this @#/? is burning Koreans at his church in Florida. They're lovely people. Didn't he see their team at the World Cup? Brilliant!
92er Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 According to the twitter news feed on this site, Allardyce has not ruled himself out of replacing Cappello.
Sparky Marky Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 yeah, but you have to be ruled in first.
BuckyRover Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I'll do it for him. Sam you're ruled out
RevidgeBlue Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I'll do it for him. Sam you're ruled out Poor old Sam must have had the weekly equivalent of an "annus horriblis" Who'd be interested in the Villa job with 100m coming up to spend here in the transfer market? The Villa job came and went then he found out a day or two after the takeover seems to be running aground.

I could not think of another manager at this point that I would feel completely sure that we would avoid relegation with. Do you think he would go?

I could not think of another manager at this point that I would feel completely sure that we would avoid relegation with. Do you think he would go? He always looks miserable but there's been a look almost of despair in the last few interviews I've seen. Offered another halfway decent job, I think he'd walk intantly.
