Sam should shut his gob and do his talking on the pitch.

If he feels that he could manage one of the very top clubs then prove it on the pitch by winning matches and trophies.

If he feels that he should be considered for the England job in 2012 then prove it on the pitch by winning matches and trophies.

These comments make him and our club look like morons. Focus on actions and results rather than words Sam.

Exactly what Robbie Savage said on Radio 5 Live yesterday. He's been disrespectful to the club and if that is what he thinks

he should be aiming to win trophies for Rovers.

The cynic in me thinks this is Sam playing out an exit plan.

Cant wait til he's got us playing like Real Madrid or Barca

I hate him. Next time we sing 'Attack, attack, attack attack attack', I'm gonna be pointing at him, waiting for him to clutch his chest.

This isn't a reactionary post - I've been doing it since mid way last season.

Not sure whether its a reactionary post or not but its a disgusting one.

Balanced by the final two paragraphs. Did you not read that far down?

The end makes more sense, but he knows what the headline grabbing part is (or should we add moron to go along with egotistical prat?).

Shut up and do the talking on the pitch. We aren't on a great run of results. We aren't at the top of the table. We aren't getting towards the latter stages of a major cup. When you deserve attention you'll get it and he has had plenty in his time, he doesn't need to try and focus the spotlight on himself by making this idiotic statements in press conferences and interviews. It makes the club look amateurish and it must make any potential signing think that they are being courted by some caricature of a pompous manager.

Unfortunately for the club that article is just about on the money - about the type of football we generally resort to, and the self-aggrandising berk we've got managing us.

I can only think that maybe BFS has got wind that whoever's taking us over really doesn't want him here (despite what may have been said publicly)?

Not defending Sam but that article is terrible. Totally living up to the Wenger loving media stereotype. Some managers have the media in their pocket and seem to be devoid of criticism. Nothing to do with the article immediately below but Avram Grant is another one. His run with Chelsea toally overshadowing the inept performances of Portsmouth last year and the dire start West Ham have had. Not exactly sure what Zola did wrong there.

The special one is hardly known for playing open and attractive football is he? He bought the two best wingers around at the time in Duff and Robben and then played them narrow. His charisma is obviously fantastic and his tactical nous excellent but it'd be very revealing to see how he'd go on in the Prem at an unfashionable club with no money to spend.

I might have remembered incorrectly, but didn't Raniera (sp?) buy Duff?

Just back on Sam. Forgetting his off the pitch babble, I've not seen much of Rovers this season. Caught a lot of the game yesterday on TV) and was disappointed at the way we just kept knocking balls forward after working so hard to win it in the first place.

A question I have now to season ticket holders.

Do you really think Rovers are playing to their strengths at the moment?

Towards the end of last season we looked like we tried to play it a bit more. Have we reverted back to type (i.e. the end of 2008/09 season when we were fighting to stay up?)

Does it look like Sam is trying to take us forward?

To be fair although yesterday's game was a shocker I thought the first two home games against Arsenal and Everton were much improved on last season and the one before.

On the flip side in the interview with Stuart Hall Sam was eulogising about Robbo's ability to ping the ball on a sixpence as though he were teeing off on the first hole at Birkdale. Whilst this is very true, I hardly think it's a master tactic you should be crowing about.

That article is frankly ridiculous, he's taking the "everyone hates me/us and I/we don't care" line to ridiculous extremes now.

His NOTW article is a bit near the knuckle most weeks imo - and this one doesn't fall far short of bringing him/BRFC into disrepute. I think he should be advised to desist from penning this particular piece.

Let your football do the talking on the pitch Sam - we ain't exactly pulling up any trees ourselves.

To be honest, to me this is embarassing, if I was in charge of Rovers he'd be in my office Monday morning to get his walking papers. He's done well for us and until yesterday I thought I saw some real improvement. How the hell do you make players believe when their boss is coming out with crap like that.

I'm a big fan of Allardyce but I agree Williams needs to rein him in now and remind him who he works for and who is paying his wages. The manager's utterances in the press and on TV are way over the top and he needs a period out of the media spotlight with his assistant doing the interviews.

He mouths off like he's better than fergie and winger but how MANY medals has he actually won?

The huge one I've bought him for constantly proving you have zero sense of humour nor a grasp of irony. And, for generally pissing you off.

Long may it continue.

I copied this from wikipedia's "Honors" section for Sam:

As a player:

Football League Second Division, Bolton Wanderers- 1977/78

As a manager:

League of Ireland First Division, Limerick F.C.- 1991/92

Football League First Division Football League First Division play-offs Winners , Bolton Wanderers F.C.- 2000/01

Football League Cup Runner Up, Bolton Wanderers F.C.- 2003/04

Not a career to be ashamed of, but not even close to SAF or Mourinho's trophy cabinet.

And for the record, I think Sam is quite capable of acquiring silverware with the Rovers.

That ignores the achievements of keeping Bolton up and getting them into the top six and in Europe (plus more than one domestic cup semi final and one League Cup Final) more than once, getting Notts County promoted, inheriting a dire Ince-ruined Rovers and not only keeping us up but a top 10 finish and a cup semi-final while selling your best players and next to nothing reinvested into replacing them and all the while managing to blood some excellent youngsters.

Well, 5 games into the new season and a below par performance against Fulham and some mischievously reported tongue in cheek comments and the Rovers whingebag supporters are already throwing the toys out of the pram. Its quite frankly embarassing that these comments have been taken seriously.

A large proportion of Rovers own supporters won't give Allardyce the credit he deserves for the great job he's done here. He also receives very little credit for the job he did at Bolton. Damn right that he should big himself up in my opinion.

To be honest,

If we continue to play the opportunistic and quite frankly, terrible football that we played yesterday then I fail to see how we could stick with him post take over.

Yes we have no cash, yes it's a struggle, but there is nothing stopping us playing football every now and again. Though some of you can't see it, there are alternatives to his play that won't see us relegated.

Anyway, let's see how we do from here.... Anything but three points from Bloomfield Road will be a scary result.

If you feel Rovers are no longer worthy of your managerial genious Sam then please feel free to leave soon...I'm sure our potential new owners with their money available will have a very good standard of manager interested in little old Rovers hotseat.

The media are laughing their ###### of at him now.

Who cares what the media think? What does their opinion count for? Sam knows more about football than each and every one of those no marks.
