thenodrog Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Been there, old stuff and the arguments with you tend to go round and round in circles and generally involve personal abuse and general obnoxiousness on your part. Pretty difficult to find evidence of you not posting but you, me and a good few others know that you did one for a good while after the win at Everton. Answer Question 1 please.

deryck guyler's spoon Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I should have known better than bring up Ince I suppose. You love nothing better than reminding everybody how you managed to predict that an inexperienced manager would fail in his first top flight job. Of course, many of us had the same misgivings but preferred to hope for the best and be positve knowing that what we said on here would have no baring on whether or not Ince kept his job. Those of us without an agenda that is. Anyway it's all documented on the appropriate thread. Now, about that post Everton disapearance..........

Not difficult at all........ PhilipL was dithering as usual and sensing a chenge in the wind. I was steadfast in my opinions. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php/topic/19503-everton-preview/page__view__findpost__p__661750 Thats only the Everton thread. I'd imagine that I was just as committed to my opinion on the Ince thread too. Incidentally I was proven right in just 3 short months. Waggy is 2 years down the line and his objections are sounding increasingly feeble and definitely personal. Any logic has been abandoned long ago. Take note though one day his time will indeed come but thats the way with football.

Most magnanimous! Enough anyway, I could never accuse you of being boring but I'm off to watch 'Harry Brown' on DVD and have a couple or three glasses of South 'Strylya's finest.
Gav Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I don't have a problem with Sam not starting Roberts and I am totally bewildered so many on here are clamoring for Jason to start. Given that most on here have slaughtered him. What bothers me more is the fact that he continues to persevere playing Kalinic in the lone striker role. And the daft buggar goes with two up front when he drops Kalinic. Is Sam trying to totally destroy this lad. Good point USA regarding Kalinic in the lone striker role, makes no sense to me whatsoever. As for Roberts, I've seen enough of him to last me a lifetime to be honest, but our strikers can't score goals, so if one gets a run of form I think he needs to start, just my opinion.

Backroom trueblue Posted November 17, 2010 Backroom Posted November 17, 2010 Can we please keep on topic.. and take all the arguments off board!

thenodrog Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Walrus for England. If he got a chance he'd walk to London. His desperation must be equalled by his frustration at seeing the best efforts of the last 3 spineless goons. Abbey (and your invisible friend can join in too). Quick question for you. Be honest, do you think England would have been as poor/inept/listless/lacking etc etc under Allardyce as they have been under... 1. Wally? and 2. Postman Pat? imo he'd have squared up to the cancerous Billy Big Times and their agents and their club managers and either got em playing or f***** em off. Someone certainly has to before English football can hold it's head up on the International stage again.
waggy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 He did or Givet did? Because had Givet done a proper job we probably would have only conceded 1. No suprise you popped up after a defeat...its like your PRAYING for us to lose so you can have another pop at Sam. Bore off! well SONOFSAM you had your twopennysworth 30 mins after a win,i wait a little longer, time for the dust to settle.as for praying for us to get beat i leave that to the ince haters

Someone certainly has to before English football can hold it's head up on the International stage again....rio in midfield ,Gerrard dropped for him...walcott at full back being oredered to miss the midfield and lump it to the pen spot...BORING BORING BORING ,MORE SO THAN CRAPELLO. AND I FORGOT TO ADD NO ROONEY ,DEFOE ,OR CARROL,JUST LARD ARSE KEV UP FRONT ON HIS OWN AND ENGLAND CAPT.
bellamy11 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 It's like reading 'Inverting the Pyramid'.
JMillZz Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 As much as Allardyce often riles me and I agree his tactics and sub choices/timing etc often leave a lot to be desired, I do think he'd strangely do a good job with England. It would at least be a laugh.
BuckyRover Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Petrificus Totalus! Expecto Patronum! Wingardium Leviosa! Nikola Kalinić is getting a ###### slap when I see him tomorrow. This isn't a wand - it's just a ###### stick. The #######.” TheBig_Sam
JMillZz Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 TheBig_Sam Wingardium leviosa** haha I love the twitter page. Brightens me up when rovers depress me.

And the daft buggar goes with two up front when he drops Kalinic. Is Sam trying to totally destroy this lad. He needs a strike partner in my opinion. Also the other mystifying thing to me was pulling Salgado. He left him in last year when Bale (was it Bale?) took him to the cleaners with his pace but this game Salgado was much better prepared and I thought was using his experience to play him well, not letting Bale get too close at the right time and playing off him at the right time. Then Sam pulls him and guess what, well the rest is history innit. I think Sam must have had a flashback to last season cos I don't recall Bale doing him once at the weekend. I think you raise some good points with this post. I still maintain that our lack of anyone on the coaching staff who is either specialized in an attacking sense or has played as a striker, hinders us in this area. Hughes was a top one and every striker he bought in did well for us as surely he must have been able to help them massively. Now that we have been taken over I do hope that they don't just think players are needed and they allow some cash for extra staff members.

Well of course he continues to play a team that has only one, out and out striker in the line up. It's the modern way and is a far better system than 4-4-2. Don't forget that this system has played it's part in a top ten finish last season and is currently playing it's part in keeping our heads above water this year. Also, why would Allardyce want to destroy him? One other point. You would think, reading this thread, that Niko had never been on the pitch at the same time as another striker. He's had strike partners before during loads of games, so tell me, did it make Niko better, or in any way a different player? Give me an example?

Sam had better keep an eye on his ticker, he may have a transfer budget as a Rovers manager. Now that is a shock to the system.
ABBEY Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 rovers next manager ..."when i say hoof i mean hoof"
thenodrog Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Sam had better keep an eye on his ticker, he may have a transfer budget as a Rovers manager. Now that is a shock to the system. He'll want to make a huge impact with whatever bunce he is given. The England job is coming up and it's obvious to all that he wants that more than anything. He knows that spending any money he gets effectively, combined with getting BRFC near or in the top 6 together with a few good results against the big boys will push him right up the pecking order. Lets be honest the press and media are increasingly pushing for an English manager to manage England and they currently are as rare as hens teeth.

I think Sam is a top manager- those that despise him on here for his style of play cannot deny that the man has done a superb job with our meagre resources. However, his name is met with utter derision with most football fans across the country and is an easy target for the media- the two go hand in hand. I just cannot see him getting the England job, court cases aside, it is going to be 'Arry, is it not?
Billy Castell Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 The press are full square behind Droopy the Dog. He might be OK, but he can't transfer players like he can in club football. Sadly, the one manager that can sort England out is currently in a new job in Madrid.

den Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Strike partner in loads of games? Which games were these and who partnered him? You've never seen Kalanic on the field at the same time as another striker? I have and he looks exactly like he does when he's on his own. It's not as though he develops more pace/skill/shooting power/scored more goals when someone else was beside him. He's the same Niko Kalanic.
