thenodrog Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I was speaking for myself. You were pretty quick to dismiss Hughes though werent you? Every post you've made in the last couple of weeks has been intent on showing everyone how right you were in being against Ince from day one. Well you certainly weren't the only one who wasn't keen on his appointment, but you don't see the rest of us bragging about it. Grow up. OK I'll try. In the meantime you try to be a little more accurate.
Majiball Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Why? If Cruz goes then Davies would be in my top 3 affordable targets to replace him. Really? You sure about that? I'd like to inject some pace if RSC goes, we are desperate for some. I'd even consider Bellamy! his injury would seem not to have detiriated his speed.
thenodrog Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I would prefer Beatie, I had him in the 3 and more than useful if we go down...... But he's definitely some way behind Davies and especially with his 1st touch.
Mr Creosote Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Paul Ince?I thank you. ......and Mark Hughes?
Clog Blue Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I had him in the 3 and more than useful if we go down...... But he's definitely some way behind Davies and especially with his 1st touch. Who's tother?
thenodrog Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Spoke to Andy Bayes today, and he mentioned Sam wont speak to the BBC, so Radio Lancashire will be non too pleased !! In the interest of himself and the club he needs to do a face saving deal with them. Radio Lancs can be a good ally of BRFC and especially when they owe a favour. Something unofficila but along the lines of 1. Only be interviewed by Kevin Gallagher or Richard Dinnis. 2. No interview to be aired nationally. Or whatever conditions that he is happy with. Who's tother? Wayne Rooney.
Clog Blue Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Wayne Rooney. So its 1st choice Davies, 2nd Beatie & 3rd Rooney.
thenodrog Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 ......and Mark Hughes? Look Creosote can you not stalk somebody else you are getting tiresome. I'll concede that you have some spirit but not enough intellect. For anybody else trying to spin my comments to suit their own churlish agenda...... I expressed misgivings about Mark Hughes on his appointment on the basis of him being a former team member and the player's stated choice. The rest of the post that you refer to was positive. Any fool can see the difference when compared to my first post about Paul Ince. You are obviously a special fool so please now butt out. Wayne Rooney. So its 1st choice Davies, 2nd Beatie & 3rd Rooney. No........ Rooney and Beattie are second equal.
BuckyRover Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Paul Ince?I thank you. Can you PM me this Saturday's Lottery numbers please (not the Thunderball)? Cheers. It would be a shame to waste your "gift".
tony gale's mic Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 To be fair although I made this thread, I still maintain he wasn't the best choice in the summer, although I shouldn't have been so against him. HTC and Laudrup would have been the best men to take us forward from there, and going from this appointment Mancini would have been the better candidate here had we not been in serious danger of relegation. But in this instance we needed a man who had methods, could knock the players into shape, had a proven track record and would represent the lowest risk, and Allardyce is perfect for that.

Presty On Tour Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 So look forward to this conference and hope Big Sam talks our position as a club up. I mean in the overall picture, and where he sees us in it. Is the press conference 4pm on ssn?
Hughesy Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Beattie and Davies in the top 3 of suitable replacements?? Get real... that would be awful. We need players who are capable of at least 15 goals a season and we also need some pace up there. Martins would win that one for me - he is seriously under-rated. Yep conference at 4pm on SSN.
broadsword Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Can you PM me this Saturday's Lottery numbers please (not the Thunderball)? Cheers. It would be a shame to waste your "gift". Get Paul Ince to put them on for you, do you think he could handle it?
Majiball Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Get Paul Ince to put them on for you, do you think he could handle it? better get Ray to hold his hand!

CrazyIvan Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I'll be very happy to acknowledge an error in judgement about Sam Allardyce re percentage football if the football I watch is decent enough. Right now I don't care whether we play 8 across the back with two up front and win 1-0 until the end of the season as long as we stay up. I'd like to see good football and shall wait and see what Big Sam brings and as the new manager I'll back him. As for Ince, the idea that people 'knew' what he was going to be like from day one is just plainly ridiculous. You could make a guess which some did and stuck to it. They didn't give Ince a chance and that is to their detriment rather than Ince's, summarily dismissing someone because of your own ideas without actually seeing what that person can do is utterly judgemental. For those of us who did give him the chance there is credit in doing so. Virtually all of us ran out of patience at some point and personally it was after the second half against Sunderland and got compounded game after game from that point. Sorry Gordon, you might have been anti-Ince from day one and have been 'proved right' but that doesn't make you or what you said about him right morally or factually.

Good and dangerous player and a superb left foot but Sam seems to prefer strong back to goal centre forwards to hold the ball up from 'all those early clearences'. ...... Best to get out of the habit of saying 'long balls'.

It does to me Ivan. I thank you. HEY UP! "when the seagulls follow the trawler"......... Look here they come now ........
BuckyRover Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 It is a shame that to most people your definition of being morally and factually correct, actually makes you a bigot. But we all knew that anyway.
Mr Creosote Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 It is a shame that to most people your definition of being morally and factually correct, actually makes you a bigot. But we all knew that anyway. Ouch!
Guest Kamy100 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Right, can we please get this back on topic and stop the petty arguments. Looking forward to the press conference and to get Allardyce's opinions on the current situation, how he is going to get us out of the relegation zone and his long term plans for Rovers.
den Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Ray and Archie have gone. Neil McDonald is the new assistant manager.
