nowt to do with him managing Bolton..its his arrogence ,style and negativity

A view shared by many Abbey :tu:

The vast majority of these pre-Jack Walker fans have a hatred towards Man Utd, born out of the battles we had with them during the 90’s no doubt. But that didn’t stop them all supporting Mark Hughes when he arrived at the club, so their arguments are flawed on the Allardyce/Bolton thing for me.

Allardyce did spend plenty of time sticking the boot into Blackburn during his Bolton days, but its his management philosophy and arrogance that turns people off, not his affiliation to Bolton.

Plus Mark Hughes had a successful playing stint here too which helped.

And this, quite simply, is it, for me.

I actually wouldn't mind an @rsehole for a manger should he actually show loyalty to the club and true respect for the fans. But he doesn't even have this saving grace.

He's a one trick pony with a dangerously stubborn approach and a total inability to adapt, read and evolve with the progression of a game.

And please spare me the "science expert". There's nothing scientific about playing 9 defenders.

The man's a footballing throwback from a bleak yesteryear and even his ego can't spare him now.

I, for one, will be glad to see the back of him.

I think you just described yourself there Abbey ;)

Think you will find that pre zzzam I was one of the most optimistic posters on here...is it so wrong to want to watch football played properly...is it not wrong for the manager to slag fans off because he is the expert..if you check back I didn't give him hell until that comment!....is it wrong to want us to try and beat the top four instead of the manager wanting us to take it up the rear....miker I've been brought up watching rovers just has my little UN as.I've been Oxford pompey Cambridge for night matches.I've lost jobs a wife and girlfriends watching my team ...have you? Arrogent er no passionate ..YES

We were spoilt rotten by Sparky in the transfer market- he was brilliant whilst Sam is OK.

I'm not Allardyce's biggest fan, but I can't really fault his transfer market dealings. His only fault so far is misusing Kalinic - he's definitely a £6m+ talent.

The rest of the players he has brought in have been upgrades to what we've previously had.

I think it is not a fair assessment to judge a manager like Mark Hughes after a few games or make comments such as “he has not pulled any trees up yet". The league table is very tight points wise so I would be very careful about making predictions generally. Sparky has shown himself more than capable of managing a football club previously (e.g. when he managed us). Add to that he did a fantastic, first class job during his time here.

I haven't made any predictions either way. Hughes could succeed at Fulham or not, but based on results so far, I'm sure we'd all be less than impressed if this was us. We'd probably have faith in Hughes because he's worked here before, but he was only given that chance because we took a gamble. That's why I was advocating Jurgen Klinsmann. He's in a similar mould to Hughes, having an illustrious playing career and successful international management. But, like Hughes, he would also deserve time to make his impact at the club.

I will say one thing, with Venky's in charge, maybe the club will now be open to a foreign coach. It's close-minded to always pick a British manager, especially when we miss out on people like Laudrup.

It's embarrassing to believe that a grown man actually thinks like this.

You sound like a child man.

No it is just Abbey being Abbey. Football rivalry. Not saying I agree with him. But he is entitled to his opinion, right or wrong. You only have to look at football players. There has not been that many players that have crossed the divide from burnley to Rovers or vice versa. One that springs to mind was keith Newton - I think that was his name. So if Abbey's comment sounds childish, it is actually practiced in the football world by grown up people. Right or wrong, strange maybe, but that is football rivalry and life.

Why? What's a child man ?

Have you know concept of how deep passion runs between rovers and burnley or you on vinjays boat?

Abbey commenting on my grammar is a new low.

I understand the rivalry between rovers and burnley.

But Coyle doesn't manage burnley anymore...

You'd sacrifice having a better manager or player for the sake of them once managing/playing for Burnley?

That my friend is why I find it embarrassing for a grown man to think like you do....man.

Well...no, because they were opposition players.

Coyle potentially managing us would be for our benefit, not as an opposition manager - the comparison you're trying to make doesn't work.

I'm not going to start putting multiple quotes on my reply because it looks rubbish when people do it, but somebody said Sam plays 9 defenders in a game: name a single line-up under Sam where 9 established defenders have been on the pitch and I will give you £20.

Won't happen because it's never happened.

Also, apparently we bend over and take it up the chuff when playing the top 4, every game?

What happened when we played Arsenal at home last year? Oh yeah, we beat them.

We've also given the others a bloody good game at Ewood too.

It's not even being passionate anymore, it's quite clearly just being unashamedly against Sam, regardless of how he performs.

So basically, when you wrote this you were lying your head off? It was everything to do with him managing Bolton just as Coyle is "tainted' for managing both Burnley and Bolton.

What a sad get.

Well no, because he was playing against them.

If he was playing for them I'd think they would end up loving him like we did.

Didn't Andy Cole play for Burnley after us?

Here's the correction for you.

"you sound like a child; man"

Could you answer the question though?

Would you sacrifice signing a better manager or player on the grounds of them once being on Burnleys books?

Burnley don't have better players or managers than us,

The question should be, do you think any ex Burnley employee would come to Blackburn Rovers, I can only recall movement from Blackburn to Burnley with the exception of 1

555 pages of mostly tat about anti-Sam this, pro-Sam that... I support Sam and the team because he's the Rovers manager, no matter who he used to manage. He makes mistakes but he has also done some genuinely excellent things. Big Sam is well known as being a good man manager and that's been proven by Pedersen's turn around in form. The pro's love him, Salgado came out and sang his praises. That carries more weight with me than someone on here spouting about hoofball every ten minutes.

Coyle would be an amazing appointment for Rovers. I met him once, very down to Earth fellow he was too - no ego. Was quite a character as well, reminded my a bit of Dalglish. It wasn't difficult to see how he got the most out of a bunch of poor to average players at Turf Moor. It was very difficult, local rivalry aside, to not get on with him.

Also Burnley would absolutely hate it. Imagine that derby game, I'd love that :tu:
