BuckyRover Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I noticed the other day that thenodrog had posts on: The messageboard I can't believe it's not football Ask admin & Admin notices In each of those forums he was talking about race issues. It is a shame he doesn't go in the gaming forum, he could have had a clean sweep.

BRFCBOY Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 will press conference be available online anywhere ????
Pugg Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I feel it was always going to go one of two ways with Ince and there wouldn't be any middle ground. Ince was either going to be another Hughes and be a big success or it was going to go horribly wrong. We all know it was the latter. Give Theno some credit, it is tough getting a 50:50 decision right. Back to the topic, I am looking forward to seeing what Sam has to say today. Ray and Archie have gone. Neil McDonald is the new assistant manager. Glad that has been sorted out quickly.
tchocky Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Great news! Don't know much about McDonald (except he has a farm? or was that his father?), but I do know Mathias and Knox had to go

I agree totally with what you are saying. I saw Ince as a gamble - that would either pay off massively or back fire. Unfortunately it was the latter - interesting comments coming from the players seem to confirm what I always felt - Ince is actually a good man manager of players, where he fell over was his choice of backroom staff.
unleaded Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 A bit more on the New Man McDonald................ "But while he may be a managerial novice, 40-year-old Neil McDonald comes with an impressive pedigree. His last job was as assistant to Iain Dowie at Charlton Athletic and before that he was reserve team coach at Bolton Wanderers. It was recommendations from Trotters' manager Sam Allardyce and Simpson himself, who studied his Uefa Pro Licence alongside the former Wallsend Boys Club midfielder, that swayed the Carlisle board behind McDonald in spite of competition from the likes of David Platt, Gary Megson, John Ward and former Newcastle assistant manager John Carver. His work alongside Dowie and Allardyce - two of the English game's most forward-thinking young managers - and a string of qualifications (as well as his Pro Licence, McDonald also holds FA A, B and C licences) mark him out as a very modern coach. A new fitness coach and a goalkeeping specialist are both high on his list of priorities and McDonald has already made clear he sees physical conditioning as crucial. "We might not have the best players in the division but we should have some of the fittest," he said.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 will press conference be available online anywhere ???? You could try the BBC News website, iirc they showed Ince's press conference.
neekoy Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Neill McDonald Thanks Den, never heard of him but am suprisingly wrapped with this appointment.
BRFCBOY Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 You could try the BBC News website, iirc they showed Ince's press conference. cheers
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Read up. He doesn't talk to the BBC.
BRFCBOY Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Read up. He doesn't talk to the BBC. very good point
67splitscreen Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 That's two full set's of UEFA Pro badges noe in the trophy cabinet, three more to equal the taffia.
Bobby G Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I would have thought Knox was kind of a guy that Sam would have kept. I would have loved Gary Speed to join our ranks too. Hopefully Tugay will get more of a hands on role. What happens to NIGEL WINTERBURN? The most useless ever part-time employee.
Majiball Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 McDonald's not a bad shout, he's had a couple of tries at lower league management and they've not paid off. But there are no gaps in his CV he has always had a job so thats a good thing. Was on a 3 year deal at Leeds till today so some compo will have been paid out. Perhaps we have loosened the strings? Fitness is key for us, hopefully they get it better than at Newcastle. Surprised about Mimms though he had done very well at Wolves and is highly regarded. However I still want to see a appointment made by the club so we have our arses covered.

Majiball Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I would have thought Knox was kind of a guy that Sam would have kept. Sam's meant to be forward thinking, I can assure you Knox is not. They are opposite ends of the spectrum. Where does it say Mimms has gone? It doesn't. However it does say we are looking for a goalkeeping specailist, I highly doubt we require two Goalkeeper coaches for the first team.
Bobby G Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Wouldve thought that Mimms was highly rated when recruited from Wolves. Why would we get rid?
thenodrog Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 It doesn't. However it does say we are looking for a goalkeeping specailist, I highly doubt we require two Goalkeeper coaches for the first team. Maybe a keeper swop on the cards? I would have thought Knox was kind of a guy that Sam would have kept. ONLY IF SAM DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THE KETTLE. Hopefully Tugay will get more of a hands on role. ONLY IF HE IS WORTH IT, AND SENTIMENTALLITY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE EQUATION. What happens to NIGEL WINTERBURN? The most useless ever part-time employee. TAXI FOR NIGEL.
John Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 This is fantastic, coaches with qualifications!!
Majiball Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Wouldve thought that Mimms was highly rated when recruited from Wolves. Why would we get rid? Don't forget Robinson's worked under some of the best with england and Leeds, we had a bloody good coach in Steele. Perhaps Bobby's not making the grade? Robbo's been good but only in patches really. Maybe he's as unhappy with his training as the others must have been. Developing good talent for the championship is one thing but just as its a big leap for players it no different for coaches etc. Pity he could have been the club man. I wonder if Howard will stay? He's spent most of his career following BFS. But in the same breath I would assume he was responsible for the fitness levels of our players, which I believe are no-where near good enough? Newcastle had similar complaints. What does everyone else think about this curiously? Do you think they could be fitter as well? Is he a keeper? If he is someone needs to be brought in alongside him, GI Joe can go on a march. Bolton's old fitness team was Roden and Howard until Roden saw the light and saw the grass was greener. Roden is very forward thinking young and methodical. Perhaps some youthful enthusiastic coach should be brought in as well, to recreate the blend the had at Bolton.
vizcaya Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Read up. He doesn't talk to the BBC. That's correct, but... Does that automatically mean that they're not allowed to cover the press conference? Just curious...
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 That's correct, but... Does that automatically mean that they're not allowed to cover the press conference? Just curious... I'm not actually sure now I come to think of it. I expect they will be able to record and play it later on iPlayer like they do with Fergie. Perhaps. In all honesty I'm not sure. I know that SSN is definitely covering it though.
bennyboyt11 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 sorry guys, can someone just summarise whos left and whos come in? sorry to be a pain but my eyes are really suffering today and this screen isnt helping lol
