Credit for the win but 3-0? Another awful boring game and as for the negativity from Sam actually stopping an attack and making us turn a genuune attack into a backpass buggers belief. And before anyone accuses me of booing ..it wasn't me !

WHAT? Boring? Don't make me laugh... We passed it around a fair amount. Fast breaks, defenders defending, keeper playing a blinder and you were bored?

Honestly Abbey? you really thought it was an 'awful, boring game'?!

Both sides played some good stuff and created a load of chances, and rovers won 3-0, What more do you want? If that had have been under Hughes you would have been cock-a-hoop.

You are really sad!!! The first 10 mins we were poor but after that we played well. We should have scored 5 or 6 goals today with the chances we had!!!

Well done Big Sam and the Rovers Team!!! 8th place is excellent and we should get 30 points by new year and push on for European now!!! Hopefully after a couple of good signings we could get European this season!!!

There is certain fans who will never like Big Sam or his tactics and will always moan about him!!! I would say to you where would we been without what BS did when he first came in and keep us up and last season got us to 10th and a semi final of a cup!

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

Oh..everyone round me tells lies then..one person said he would rather watch pool match tonight and he was told it was off and he said I know...if the great man had a pair of nads we could have got the goals back from last week.

It's "you're", Abbey. I know you hate immigrants/foreigners and such like but maybe learn the local language first?

Anyway, whatever certain people say about Sam he almost always delivers a result when you really need one. Yes, playing away against the big teams is still something that needs addressing, but those are games where points are a bonus rather than needed. But Sam's got his success with us by winning the games we need to and getting a few good wins against sides like Villa.

Strange comment TGM? Think you’re out of order if it reads right......

We won today, which was great, but the performance again was rubbish for long periods, but if you’re in the results business like Allardyce is, all well and good.

3 Points is 3 points and I’m happy for that, but I’m looking for more, anything to get me out of my seat, sadly we didn’t see that today, but we live in hope that 3 points and entertaining football is where the club is heading.

Fingers crossed.

today wolves were there for the taking! I just don't undestand why at 3 nil (well slightly after) Sam decided to go 5 accross he back inviting pressure on us? Also with a defence such as wolves why not let Niko have half an hour try and get him going instead of nursing Diouf mk II for his best buddy sir RFW? Every time i watch us the man does something inexplicable but then i suppose I'm not the Expert

This topic has become a farce. If Sam wins, the usual suspects come out and start demeaning anyone with the gall to criticize the manager. And if we lose, the same old faces want Sam on the first train out of here. And if you fall anywhere near the middle you'll be tarred with the same brush one way or another.

Yeah, I noticed early in the second half that we were playing a high-line, which was keeping Wolves under pressure and allowing us to get numbers forward. Then, as usual, we started dropping deeper and deeper, and Wolves came closer and closer to clawing back a couple of goals. Can't complain with a 3-0 win, but in the past this lack of adventure has often been to our detriment.

the reason why we went 5 at the back was because wolves went 4-2-4 and BS didn't want us to get expose and concede a couple of goals. no point at that stage and risk a chance of them coming back into the game.

I would have like to see Kalinic play some part in the game but with him just coming back from injury why take risk of him getting injured again!!! the game was won at that stage!!!

and no you are not the Expert!

I think it was always like that, to be honest.

It seems you have to be either for or against the manager, no matter what.

I think, in black-and-white terms, Sam has been a success for Rovers. I also think there will not be anything like everyone all pulling in the same direction until he has finally left the club.

To be honest, it seems to have been this way since Hughes left.

True. It just seems that now you can't make any kind of valid point against the manager without being labelled a 'hater'. I've admitted on many occasions that Sam has done a decent job but I don't approve of his methods. For some people on here, that just isn't good enough.

If we play decent football and win I'll on here saying so, if we play poorly and win I'll be on here saying so.

Do you think we played well today Topman? Did you enjoy the football on offer?

There were good spells of link-up play. We've certainly played a lot worse. But the bad habit of lumping the ball away instead of keeping possession is still a hard one to shake, it would seem.

We have played a lot worse I agree, but it wasn't the best in the main.

But 3 points is 3 points I guess, next.

That depends how you define 'exposed'. Inviting the opposition on to you with half hour to go counts as 'exposed' in my book. If not for Robbo, Wolves could have had 2 back before the last 5 minutes of the game. It was more one inspired performance rather than inspired tactics.

  • Backroom

For me Wolves didn't expose us, our change in formation and approach to the game almost exposed oursleves.

When we played attacking football they couldn't get near us and for a moment or two looked like we could go on to get 4 or 5 then we changed and didn't look interested in getting forward at all.

Not normally no but they were awful when we attacked and there was no reason at all why we couldn't keep at them, it wasn't a particulary high tempo either.

Having said that I will take a win however it comes so can see it from both sides.

Personally, I thought it was far from an awful boring game. I enjoyed it but I suppose it just goes to show that opinions differ, not only on the manager but also on the quality of the football. What one person finds entertaining, another finds boring. However, a win is a win and 21 points at this stage of the season, taking into account our lack of spending in the summer, is a pretty impressive achievement.

Opinions on managers differ. I thought Hughes did a tremendous job here but I've heard a number of Fulham supporters who are far from impressed with the job he is doing down there. With Sam there tends to be no middle ground. People either seem to love him or loathe him. Personally, I think he's done a decent job considering the financial situation at the club. I must admit that, with 20 minutes to go and 3-0 up, I had no problem with him going to five at the back as it is a system that has worked OK in the past for him.
