47er Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Credit for the win but 3-0? Another awful boring game and as for the negativity from Sam actually stopping an attack and making us turn a genuune attack into a backpass buggers belief. And before anyone accuses me of booing ..it wasn't me ! Didn't believe we could argue with a 3-0 win but with Sam as the manager apparently we can! At least he's safe from the sack---for another week anyway!

Mattyblue Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 BBC blog Wow, a McNulty blog on the Rovers, he must have been diverted to Ewood as Blackpool was postponed.
Andy Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Yes, it would have been nice to potentially get another goal or two, but once Wolves began desperately throwing more forward, it became more important to A: maintain our 3-goal advantage and B: keep a clean sheet. Beggars belief that there are still some who can take a pop at our club's manager when we've played well, won comprehensively and kept a clean sheet against one of the lower sides in the league. God knows how some of you lot would've reacted if we'd drawn or lost!
DanLad Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 I had Samba in my fantasy team, so keeping a clean sheet was the correct ethos to adopt.
Bobby G Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Excellent article by McNulty. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2010/12/does_allardyce_get_credit_he_d.html
alexanders Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I had Samba in my fantasy team, so keeping a clean sheet was the correct ethos to adopt. I also had Robinson as my GK.
47er Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 That depends how you define 'exposed'. Inviting the opposition on to you with half hour to go counts as 'exposed' in my book. If not for Robbo, Wolves could have had 2 back before the last 5 minutes of the game. It was more one inspired performance rather than inspired tactics. Its a gross exaggeration you're giving us. We were all over them for 70 mins apart from the first ten. Even after 70 mins we has plenty of chances to add to the score, the most obvious being that move in the final seconds involving Mame Diouf and Pedersen.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Its a gross exaggeration you're giving us. We were all over them for 70 mins apart from the first ten. Even after 70 mins we has plenty of chances to add to the score, the most obvious being that move in the final seconds involving Mame Diouf and Pedersen. Sorry? We were all over them until we got the third. There was then a notable shift in emphasis. It worked, we got 3 points. On another day Wolves could easilly have got a couple of goals during the spell we sat back. Better opposition would have done. I think we have long since established that Sam will not not change his methodology, so as fans we know what's coming. Half the fans are happy with this approach, half aren't. You're either blue or your white!
John Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 If anything I can be a pessimist so not getting carried away in the slightest - however when looking at the league table cannot believe how solid we are looking. Considering we have been missing key players for most of the season, tremendous effort so far - if we can pick up some more points in our next few games, things will be looking very healthy indeed.
mark Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 today wolves were there for the taking! I just don't undestand why at 3 nil (well slightly after) Sam decided to go 5 accross he back inviting pressure on us? Also with a defence such as wolves why not let Niko have half an hour try and get him going instead of nursing Diouf mk II for his best buddy sir RFW? Every time i watch us the man does something inexplicable but then i suppose I'm not the Expert what, like win 3 - 0. yeah man, really beginning to p!ss me off now.
Majiball Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I only watched the entire game online but I thought we played some excellent football at times- on the ground too. It was quite noticeable that we were mixing it up throughout the game (long balls and short). If Man Utd didnt have Berbatov playing against us last week and we had all our players fit and available then we could have quite easily avoided a 7-1 drubbing last week- hypoothetical scenarios are pointless. We played a Wolves team having lost 7-1 the week before, the players were clearly nervous at the beginning but after 10 minutes I think we bossed the match. I heard somewhere that this is the third time this season that we have bounced back after a defeat to win the following match- that is HUGE credit to the manager and his staff to be able to lift and motivate the players. We also have a run of winnable games coming up and should be in comfortable in mid table before the window opens.
S15 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Oh..everyone round me tells lies then..one person said he would rather watch pool match tonight and he was told it was off and he said I know...if the great man had a pair of nads we could have got the goals back from last week. Can you please confirm that you're not a three year old child? The first sentence you write is becoming a pretty frequent theme, and really is the most pathetic form of arguing you muster up, which is some feat.

Its a frequent theme because its what he believes, until something happens to change his mind he’ll be sticking with that theme. Not so hard to understand is it?

Not so hard to understand is it? Did you read my post? Try as you might to be diplomatic, everyone knows Abbey's hatred is personal, and it's towards a man he's never met. Anyone who suggests Allardyce should be removed from his post is, in my opinion, a complete moron. The job he is doing speaks for itself.

John Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Sam seems to have been getting more critcism/stick from posters on here recently, strange behaviour.....obviously a lot of our fans are perfectionists. League table form guide

I did read you post, it started by you trying to insult a member of this board, which is pretty pathetic really, and then you continue in the same vein by claiming any who suggests Allardyce should be removed from his post is a moron. Not much substance to anything you’ve said really is their?
Mozzer Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 10th in the league is clearly not good enough - we should be doing miles better :/
chaddyrovers Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Sam seems to have been getting more critcism/stick from posters on here recently, strange behaviour.....obviously a lot of our fans are perfectionists. League table form guide I would agree with that. In the last 6 games we been beaten by Spurs and Man Utd away from home. Did we expect to win these games? Answer is No we don't. Do we except a better performance about these teams? Answer is yes we do. We win the games we except to win? At home against the big teams like Chelsea and Arsenal this season we perform well and should have beaten Chelsea. We do need to improve the performance against the big teams away and defend correctly!!! If you look at the form table we won 4 and lost 2 and are 4th in the form guide!!! What do certain rovers fans want? do you want to be good performance and lost 4-3 or win 3 nil and play some good football but abit defensive? You decide, I know which want I would want and it is to win 3 nil and play abit defensive! Big Sam gets a lot of people moaning because he plays a bit defensive!!! But he always gets results against teams we should be beating!!!

If you don't like his football so much why do you still turn up?
