It also needs mentioning that good away performances, such as Birmingham and Bolton today, are being rewarded with defeat.

We simply need far more quality in the attacking half of the pitch. We do not create enough and we fail to finish what paltry amounts we do create.

Agreed. Hoilett didn't get enough of the ball, and when he did he had the beating of the full-back. Givet missed a couple of sitters, but there again he's a CB. Dunn didn't get enough of the ball/get into the game sufficiently when he came on, the finishing was again lacking!

Coyle is leagues ahead of Allardyce in every way for me, he’s destined for bigger and better things than Bolton, watch that space.

hmmm I would have loved to have read this message board in 1997 when Blackburn were second under Roy Hodgson playing great football and 1st/2nd in the league and what did we think of hodgson obly 12 later.

I think Sam has proven himself over many years whether as Coyle is doing well but all he has done is promote a decent Championship team in Burnley who he left to get relegated, and has done a good job at Bolton generally with Megsons players.

To call him head and shoulders better is probably a bit too much so soon

bolton could have easily lost that game and then you won't have said that, we would be 6th or 7th?

I've heard the same, there are rumors flying around that Big Sam is on his way out.

Wonder what is going on.

I've heard that rumour twice now.

I can't see BS getting sack! we are 3 points off seventh place. if they sack him, it would be a stupid decision imo!!! :angry2::angry:

It would, unless Sam would not commit further than the Summer, what would happen then with the players he would have bought in Jan?? that is my point, he may even decide to go himself if there were disagreements over final say in transfers!

Maybe Jones to Chelsea was not too far from the mark!

If we are going to spend money in January, you would think the money would be spent with a manager who the new owners fully back - would not make too much sense for them to give Sam money to spend if he is only going to be manager until the summer (unless we just do loan deals).

You would think the two went hand in hand. Substantial transfer funds and a new contract for the manager. Just one of those two wouldn't make much sense.

Its personal opinion obviously, but what he did at burnley was nothing short of miraculous, and the way he’s got Bolton playing in a similar timescale to Allardyce has had speaks for itself also.

I think people in the game realise hes destined for big things also, but its only my opinion.

Wonder if Allardyce will still be here for the WHU game
