A crucial run of fixtures that will shape our season and a point where we need stability in the club. So what do we go and do? Sack our bloody manager.

This could end up being a horrible horrible decision at the worst time possible.

I never thought I'd say it but I feel incredibly sorry for Sam Allardyce...he has been totally shafted here.

This sums up my thoughts exactly, in total shock really and initial reaction is this is bad timing!

Thanks for your work here Sam - intially, you picked us up and saved us when we were on our knees.

10th place last season with a terrific end to the season was also fantastic.

Well said and, now I'm just about getting over the shock, I think massive 'thank you' is due to Big Sam.

I don't mind admitting that I wanted Sam here after Hughes and I'm a big believer in results first, entertainment second - so Sam was a perfect fit for Rovers in my eyes.

I hope he gets a good pay-off and bounces back with a good club.

Ignore the vast minority who never took to you Sam - you did an amazing job keeping us up and turning into the side we are today.

Don't know what to think. Tbh I have very mixed feelings - I was never a fan of Allardyce and didn't want him here in the first place, but I have to admit that he did a reasonable job with very little resources, even though I didn't always (ever) agree with how he had us playing football.

It's a huge risk and there's a lot now riding on this appointment, but I have to be honest, from a purely personal view I'm now starting to get excited about going to Ewood on Saturday - it's been more of a chore than a pleasure over the last couple of seasons.

think its a shock but i cant say im upset or disapointed. he has done a good job and we can thank him that we are still in this league but the football was horrible to watch.

if the owners are willing to put money into the club then if they feel the current manager isnt what they want then its their choice. if its just a power trip then god help us.

how come i am having a strong feeling that the new owners are a bunch of complete Noobs???????? Not that m against sacking SAM, but such decision should always be made with sufficient reasons, correct opportunity and at the most appropriate time, NOT! when important fixtures are due to be played!

This is nonsense! complete nonsense!

I feel sorry for sam but feel even more sorry for all BRFCS Fans cause it would never be the same again at BRFCS............

gotta feel sorry for big Sam, treated like crap at 2 clubs in row, this has no reflection on him.

I was not for sam at the start but he very much won me round.

thank you for saving us sam and i wish you well.

Good grief, dont be so soft. Allardyce walked away from NUFC with £6M in his back pocket. I bet it was hard to keep the grin off his face.

He will bag a few quid from Rovers too.

If thats being treated like crap then let me have some.

Jesus

Classy remarks from Allardyce on SS1. He got a lot of stick from the fans but hasn't taken a single swipe at any of them so far, simply thanked them for their support, along with the players and board.

He really didn't deserve to leave us like this. Wish him all the best, genuinely.

It was a stupid move of Sam to say he wanted to quit Rovers to manage a national side at the start of the season with a takeover looming.

Would anyone have kept him on when they are looking to spend big money? I suspect they'll want someone longer term than that.

Pretty obvious to me the Venkys lot, probably advised by Kentaro didnt fancy Allardyce since day 1. Publicly told him to improve his style of play which should have been seen as a sign of what was to come. Its obvious they didnt see him as the long term manager and didnt want to give him funds in January.

They could hardly tell Sam, we dont fancy you and arent going to back you in January, and will get rid of you in the summer. IN the meantime please do your best and get as many points as possible. He would have quit before he was sacked.

As long as a sensible manager replaces him and were not threatened with relegation, I cant see too many fans being upset hes gone. He did a great job getting results but no one can have actually enjoyed watching Rovers style of football since he took over.

Very worrying though that Venkys seem to want to be hands on type of owners, despite having no football experience.
