Gutted. Thank you Sam for saving us from relegation and believing in the club and players. Fans weren't always on your side but your approach was as professorial and second to none.

Thank you for the wins last season as well :brfcsmilie:

Thanks Sam , you saved BRFC from relegation 2 yrs ago ....

We were in save hands with you ...

Not sure what the future holds for BRFC now !!!!

For all those people ,who wanted the Walker Trust out , reality is with us !!!

Relegation looms .....

For all those people who wanted the Walker Trust out- in particular the Walker Trust...........

When going forward with the ball I agree we shouldnt be looking to stop, go back and just pass it around the defence...we should still attack, however we should not get daft, and our defence & shape should reign in abit.

However I do not condone any change in tactics to be more defensive in terms of positions. As a clean sheet is important to at least 5 of our players.

Whats better 4-1 or 3-0? Confidence for the keeper & defence after 7 against id say, so 3-0.

good man- backing up Sam!

Yes the Walker Trust did want out ....But with the Walker Trust and Big Sam as manager , we would not be heading for the championship next season!!

Maybe next season but certainly season after imo. No point clinging to a dead horse.

I've sat and watched Goals on Sunday, and it just makes me feel sad. They didn't particularly laugh at us, which is nicer than what we've got previously in the week.

But just look at the teams they are lauding - Sunderland with Steve Bruce in charge, Bolton with Owen Coyle in charge - both looking to challenge for Europe. With a bit of investment, we're no better or worse than these teams, and we'd have been round abouts the same level. Now I just cannot see it. Who on earth are we going to get which will allow us to firstly not get relegated, then push on further towards challenging for Europe. I can't think of anyone :(

Read the NOTW article.

Sam explains how he got the boot - call from JW and when he heard the tone of JW's voice he knew something was up - he went into JW's office and JW said he has instructions to terminate his contract along with Neil McDonald's. Sam asked why and the response was there is not really a reason but the owners just feel they need to go in a different direction.

Sam proud of his time here working in incredibly difficult financial conditions.

Says the style of football was down to the players he had at his disposal here - he can't make sense of the sacking....

Exactly the point I've made all along. Steve Kean will find playing nice attractive football impossible with the current squad.

That point got blown away though, by fans whose only agenda was trying to drive Allardyce out of the club.

Brilliant and honest interview by Sam. I dont think we can disagree too much about everything he said in it.

Only point which some people may argue about is increasing attendances, which he does allude has been influenced also by the falling prices we charge, but bottom line, who would've gone had we not been winning games at home as well as the price?

Does he not take some of the credit for creating what the Darwen End has become?

And the style of football at Bolton & Newcastle, when he had money to spend?

Bolton were nowhere near as bad as you're trying to imply, they played some good football

Don't make a tit of yourself. Bolton were a good side and pretty similar to how we were under Hughes. He wasn't at Newcastle for long and they went down AFTER they sacked him.

He was good for us as well...

He plays the same style of football wherever he goes. Bolton, Newcastle and Blackburn all hoofed it up to the front man and played the percentages. Nothing wrong with having a brand of football, but it irritates me when he shys away from it like that.

I never said Bolton were a bad side, but Sam only knows one way of playing, and it was his inability to adapt to the players he had here which made the football so horrific. He didn't have enough faith in his players to allow them to play any other way. Diouf, Emerton, Dunn, Pedersen, Salgado. None of them were raised to play football in his way, so to say that this was the best he could get out of them is nonsense. Sign Kalinic, who's clearly no targetman and smash long-balls at him all day. It was drilled into our players to play this formulaic, predictable 'percentages win prizes' football.
