After watching yet another inept performance from Carlos on Tuesday I suspect that his days in English football are numbered. On Tuesday he contibuted nothing to the game and even his dead ball kicks were poor. The lad is just not suited to English football but would probably do well were the game is slower and players get more time on the ball. I suspect that Sam won't use him very often now that we are out of the Cup.

Its a shame because there is no doubting the lad has talent - just hope this one doesnt come back to bite us if we let him go.

It is a shame. I think he'll be more suited to the Italian league.

His second goal against Man United reserves showed his quality. A back-heel without breaking stride. Beautiful technique.

With Allardyce in charge we have a chance of staying up, not a certainty but a chance. If we had stuck with Ince, going off our form and conceding 2 goals per game we would be dead and buried by now.

There’s a good chance that we won’t stay up and that the damage has already been done, but with Allardyce you know he is going to fight and give his all to try and keep us up.

They're all at it. Look at Villa and Spurs' teams in the UEFA Cup. They're almost giving City a free run. Why do they enter? The fact is the value of any of the cups pales into insignificance against the value of Premier League survival or the value of the Champions' League. This season nearly all the Premier League clubs are involved in the relegation battle or the fight for Champions' League places so the other competitions take a back seat. I don't like what we've come to but that's the way it is.

I do think that, now Hull and Boro have gone through, we'll be able to make a comparison between our failure and their success and see what impact the different approaches bring. A pal who saw Boro on the tv and thought they played quite well, speculated their performance could have a positive effect on them.

Paul Ince left us in the relegation zone, everyone loved BFS coming in and where are we now? The relegation zone. Everyone is again going on about how much "progress" we've made, but what has all that brought us? A little bit closer to 17th place?

People are going to ignore this until their faces turn blue, but the fact of the matter which is evident for all to see in the league table is that we're not doing any better under him.

Ince had 17 games and picked up 13 points.

Sam has had 10 games and picked up 14 points.

Now go figure who has done better.

Utter crap. Even statisically we are doing better. We were 5 points adrift when Ince "left" with no games in hand. And no hope.Sheer blind prejudice from you.

BFS has done better. The question is are people going to be that elated if we finish 18th instead of 19th? Because that's the situation right now. We have a fairly decent squad with players of the likes of Santa Cruz and McCarthy; Ince failed - fair enough, but BFS can't get us out of the mire either. With a good manager and the games we had, we should have been 13th-14th at least.
