im most certainly in the boat, with those who couldnt give a ###### about, how attractive or unattractive our style of play is, BUT only at present time though. Survival and points are my only concern. We really have to look at the players at our disposal, and right now with injuries and what not, our midfield is perhaps the weakest in the prem. Sam is doing exactly what is needed and doing the most important thing, looking to reach the main objective.

Right now he simply doesnt have the players nor the luxury of playing otherwise. with that being said, ill expect sam to loosen up and play a more mixed type of football, which resembles the one under hughes, WHEN our survival is secured. I remember sam talking about a couple of younger players, who he had noticed at the club. Im not sure, but seem to remember he talked about using them, but couldnt because of our survival fight. So if sam loosens up, starts giving the younger players a chance when we are secure, ill be very very happy.

Worryingly, BS left Bolton due to a lack of (financial) ambition.

Very different to our situation though, he'd taken Bolton to the brink of the Champion's League a few times and wanted extra money to break that barrier.

I'm pretty sure, even with limited resources, Sam will feel he can get us challenging for top 8 positions given a bit of time. It will be if/when we reach that position that he would really challenge the board to back him, and then probably go if they didn't (like Hughes really).

If Sam gets us to the edges of the champions league like he was with Bolton then I would back him 100% in his call for extra funding. Until he gets us to a solid 6th place for a couple of years on the bounce, we should have anything to worry about.

What do you think is making it work so far?

In work - I mean snatching points at the moment ( not necessarily that it works in general), not convincing and neither do I like it - but if needs must then fair enough but its dangerous and we are lucky there are the likes of WBA, Boro and arseaboutastle are around.

however -adopt the startegy for a full season and I have no doubt we would be relegated.

I wouldn't doubt waggy's support of the Rovers,

I wouldn't doubt Gumboot's support of the Rovers.

I wouldn't doubt Theno's support of the Rovers....

but all, at some time or other, over the past twelve months have stated they would not go to Ewood under certain (and if my memory serves me) varying conditions.

So, napoleon, who are you to say, who is a fan or not a fan. Is it when they don't fit into your criteria?

I would think anybodys criteria to be a fan would not include constant negative comments about an improving team, and choosing not to go and watch the team because of some bizarre personal vendetta. I just get the impression that he would rather Simon Garner were our manager and we were relegated than have Sam and stay up. That to me is not a fan, but of course it's only my opinion.

Napoleon, this is Blackburn Rovers we are talking about.

It is every Rovers fan's right to have a bitch about something or other to do with the club.

It's been that way ever since before I started supporting them, I can't see it changing soon.

Just one thing, where's this "improving team" thing? We're worse than we were 18 months ago.

I'll let waggy continue his reasons with you.

Waggy, your go.........

I think he meant under Allardyce. We've improved a heck of a lot since Sam took over. We were a shambles under the Ince regime and look more organised as a unit. That to me is an improvement.

We're Blackburn Rovers, we support the team through thick and thin. Doesn't matter whose in charge and whose playing, whoever is wearing the Rovers shirt, will always get my support. Regardless of who he is.

How would you feel relegation would affect crowds Dave given the almost certainty that it would sooner or later be accompanied by a 50% hike in season ticket prices? The other side of the coin from the policy of using media money to reduce ST prices. imo with the economic state of the country, the lack of worthwhile employment in Blackburn and the demography of the population the decline in attendances would be absolutely disastrous and could easily see BRFC sliding into footballing oblivion.

I've read a few comments from people excusing Allardyce's selection for this game.

Let me tell you, there is no excuse.

Whatever side we put out, we may have lost, heavily.

BUT to play an unconvincing left winger on the right wing, when an out-of-position right back is behind him and the opposition have Riera on the left wing is stupidity that leaves me speechless. Also, to pick Mokoena is an insult to football. I cannot believe that Vogel could do worse.

We have a depleted squad but this was no excuse. Simpson (if available) should have been at right back. Someone right-footed should have been on the right wing.

Are there still Rovers fans who want rid of this clown? Well i do. I think he brings shame on our club in everything he does. Today just summed him up really.......he is a robot who needs to be destroyed before he brings us down to his level.

Apparently Sam has a penchant for playing wingers on their opposite sides, as he prefers them to cut in onto their stronger foot. Could be BS, but it's been thrown around on here before.

a bolton fan with a grudge i see? any rovers fan who wants sam to go needs their head checking. u lot wud have ince still, meaning we'd be down and out, below west brom. today was 4-0 against a side that beat real madrid 6-0. no we aint better than real madrid, and perhaps shud have tried. but the way liverpool played today, even if we'd tried, we'd have lost in my opinion.

get over it. we lost a game which we never expected anything from. focus on the STOKE game u morons!! i'll be looking for McClarky to say something positive shud we beat stoke. i haven't seen him on here b4, so perhaps he IS a bolton fan? maybe a ManUre fan? i wont go the whole hog and call himn a dingle tho....

If we were going to set out a team to lose today, we should have at least given a couple of the academy/reserve strikers a chance up front, rather than lumping Samba up there. Similarly, I would have rather seen Villanueva out there ahead of Mokoena and someone other than Treacy on the wing.

This game was always a write-off, and Sam's gambles will probably pay off.... but if we did go down on goal difference, serious questions would have to be posed about both this and the Arsenal game.
