1864roverite Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 67 splitscreen read backwards and you will find my "choice" I dont recall telling anyone they are wrong but what I have done is point out what it is that is required in the midfield today. It is only my opinion on what I have seen so far of Andrews.

Amo Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 For those positive fans advocating a place for Andrews in todays team get a reality check. The midfield for todays game has to be streetwise, gamewise and combatative, it is NOT a place for Andrews. Lets look at the oppositon midfielders. Diop, Davies, Kranjcar, Belhadj and Traore. Andrews is lightweight, unable to tackle, unable to create (apart from the odd chance) and most defiantely is non combatative. Today is for men who are willing to put their foot or head into battle, it calls for composure, skill and guile. Andrews possesses none of these traits and if he is on today, its like Rovers playing with 10 men. Ince was singing the praises of lower league signings this week, so I wouldn't hold your breath...
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Portsmouth v Rovers: Team news Posted on: Sun 30 Nov 2008 We'll have the team news from Fratton Park at about 2.30pm. Call back then!
tony gale's mic Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Robinson, Ooijer, Samba, Nelsen, Warnock, Emerton, Andrews, Kerimoglu, Pedersen, Roque Santa Cruz, McCarthy. Subs: Brown, Mokoena, Villanueva, Simpson, Fowler, Derbyshire, Roberts. Not bad, I'd still play Carlos instead of Andrews but we might aswell accept that Ince worships the ground he walks on and vice versa...
cn_barlow Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 first look i think he's got it right there from the optioins available. Why 4 strikers on the bench though?
1864roverite Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Not impressed with the inclusion of Andrews and Fowler, neither bring anything to the squad apart from a waste of space
RoverRich Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Good looking team for us and Pompey's team doesn't look that strong. Feel we can win this if we start well enough and don't allow them into it. Only one problem ..... why on earth is Fowler on the bench with Derbs, Roberts and Carlos??? He is NOT needed!

Very disappointed to see Ooijer being an accident waiting to happen in one of the full back positions again. Simpson did really well second half at Spurs. Otherwise spot on with the team selection.
1864roverite Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Because the manager is a idiot ! Or his backroom staff have picked the team for him being indecisive
Blueandwhitemike Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Decent team, wish that Judge was on the bench instead of Fowler, but we can win this if Tugay has a good day. Come on Rovers do us proud!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Because the manager is a idiot ! Or his backroom staff have picked the team for him being indecisive Give it a rest, we all know what you think. There is no need to ram it down everybody's throat again and again.
RoverRich Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Bournemouth or Blyth Spartans in FA Cup by the way
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Robinson Ooijer Samba Nelsen Warnock Emerton Andrews Tugay Pedersen Roque Santa Cruz McCarthy. Subs: Brown, Mokoena, Villanueva, Simpson, Fowler, Derbyshire, Roberts.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Not really, I disagree with your viewpoint but I don't want to scream and shout about Ince or Andrews whenever somebody posts.
1864roverite Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Not really, I disagree with your viewpoint but I don't want to scream and shout about Ince or Andrews whenever somebody posts. ADB the proof is there what happens on the pitch. Until it changes then I stick with my viewpoint.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I'm not interested into getting into a big debate. I just think it's unnecessary to state the same thing over and over and over. We all know your stance on this, there is no need to keep repeating it over and over.
T4E Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Give it a rest, we all know what you think. There is no need to ram it down everybody's throat again and again. Thats extremely rich given your post over on the FA Cup thread. Anyway, decent team, Tugay is in as he should be, the main thing again is the lack of options on the bench. Looks like he hasn't learnt from last week. 3/4 strikers?!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Thats extremely rich given your post over on the FA Cup thread. The one about waiting for people to come in and question Ince? I just thought I'd get in there first, I'd be willing to bet someone will do it.
AndyC Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 truth is painful ADB aint it ? at least wait until after the match before the bitching starts again!
