Welcome to the rings of death club.

Give Microsoft a ring on 0800 587 1102, tell them that you have the rings of death.

They will e-mail you a shipping label. Courier comes and picks it up and you will get a replacement within a week to 10 days, you can track the status of the repair online.

Don't feel too down though.

This loss of your xbox is countered by the need to install demos on the PS3.

It takes absolutely ages to download and install a demo compared to the Xbox (which doesn't need an install).

I got mine back in 6 days when mine broke.

I was told 2-3 weeks for a replacement, UPS picked mine up yesterday

yes you have to remove everything, inc the HD, they only need the raw xbox.

Don't despair. Sent mine off on the 3rd and got an email saying it had been fixed, so I should get it back this week.

This is my second repair. The first took nearly month before I got my Xbox back!

I got an e-mail on Saturday confirming that my 360 was being shipped back to me. With any luck they've fixed the thing as it was absolutely knackered.

They didn't fix it. They replaced it. Delighted. :tu:
