Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Not too bad. Hopefully Arsehole doesn't manage to bugger up against Burnley, he always loses with his kids.

DeadlyDirk Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Cardiff or Arsenal against West Brom or the Dingles.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 What a superb draw. Every chance of reaching the last 8.
Dan Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Coventry at home, nice easy tie! Hang on a minute, I'm getting deja vu.......
cn174 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Pretty happy with that draw!! Bring on Sunderland!
BRFC Casuals Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Yes good draw no reason why we cant make the last eight plus two unexpected paydays for me, ..... love the FA Cup
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Pretty rubbish draw throughout the FA Cup really. No real game stands out as a corker. Blackburn 28/1 to win the cup.
Presty On Tour Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Chuffed with the draw, Sunderland in the replay won't be easy but there is more incentive to win and do Coventry on a revenge mission to reach the last 8. If we make the last 8, we are one game from Wembley as I think the semi finals are played there instead of club neutral grounds.
philipl Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Yes you are right re SFs at Wembley- and they will be horribly expensive. All the Big 4 are still in the Cup and are separated in the Fifth Round Draw with the possibility of all four facing Championship opposition. Of course two of them could lose 4th round replays. If we get past Sunderland (who will be fancying the draw themselves) hopefully the lads will feel it is over due revenge time. At least Coventry will be bringing a decent-sized following with them. Having watched the second half of Liv v Everton, the ten minutes after Mascherano's dive up to the 85th minute was quite possibly the highest tempo-played football I can ever remember seeing. Incredible pace and skills from both sides.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Having the Semi at Wembley takes all the romance out of it. It should be finals only. Makes no sense if we got, say, Everton in the semi final and both had to go all the way down there.

Just about the only circumstances Rovers would sell their SF allocation would be if we were playing the dingles. I wonder if their yellow double deckers would manage to make it down there?
Hughesy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Good draw, every chance of making the last 8. Time to get revenge on them.
Inta Beaver Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Apparently Segundo Castillo was poor today for Everton despite them getting a draw at Anfield. Think we dodged a bullet on that one... He was shocking, doesnt seem to be able to pick a pass out, he reminds me of the Axe!
AndyNeil Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 On paper a great chance to reach the last 8 ... lets get past Sunderland first then we can start to think about Coventry.
BuckyRover Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 The FA have got to pay for their overbudget monstrosity somehow... Thats a bit harsh. It is a wonderful stadium. It did cost a lot but most good things do.
RoyRover Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 We have a good chance to get to the last 8. I know we could have done without another game, but I'm glad that we have a chance to progress at home. If we can beat Sunderland, we should be good enough to beat Coventry. I know that the league is our priority, but a good cup run would make up for a poor season and hopefully will help our league form, which has been good. Nothing inspires confidence like winning, so if we can keep on winning in the cup, confidence will be good in the league and vice versa. The league is our priority, but cup runs are always exciting and earn the club more money.

CAPT KAYOS Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Having the Semi at Wembley takes all the romance out of it. Exactly - and the reason if we got there -I doubt it would take me long to think twice about not going.
MCMC1875 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Now then, Coventry at home - brings back memories of that 4th round tie in 1980, Duncan McKenzie, that brown strip, the Riverside. Happy days.
iamarover Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Now then, Coventry at home - brings back memories of that 4th round tie in 1980, Duncan McKenzie, that brown strip, the Riverside. Happy days. Crawford. Blackburn End. Not shown on TV as the floodlights were deemed too rubbish for coverage.
wilyrover Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I wanted to buy a couple of tickets for the Coventry cup tie, but the online service is still advertising last night's match (which I bought tickets for online). No sign of Coventry tickets online, despite them being on sale from today. Come on Rovers - it's every time when you try to book online - always late.
1864roverite Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Covebtry fans allocated 4000 tickets with concession prices. £15 per adult ticket £5 juniors and opa. Looks like Rovers offering same prices for the game.
