T4E Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 any chat rooms? http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/chatroom.htm
James No. 7 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 any chat rooms? Anyone up for some cryptology talk and invade Dirk's chat room again like the other game to talk Rovers? http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/chatroom.htm
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I have to say this has been a good performance by us so far. Pressing Liverpool hard and the workrate is good. Derbs in particular deserves a mention he is running his socks off. Our defence has been very solid so far as well. More like the Rovers of old.

All this team needs is a fit Dunny and 10 years taken off tugay Pedersen is having a good game.
Presty On Tour Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 great spirit, tackles flying in and we are holding our own. Pedersen is rolling back the years!
joey_big_nose Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Amazing commitment. Seems like they are playing for Ince. Liverpool look light up front, but we have been impressive. Tugay and Andrews in the middle means we have had some passing quality.
Mr. E Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 positive thing - the defense has not murdered us yet. all else - absolutely no idea in attack whatsoever. Lump it up to Cruz, watch him try to do something vs 5 defenders. We're more than helpless.
Lurid Coat Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Incredibly enough we have looked like a decent footballing team this half. Hopefully we'll continue in this vein, but I fear that the inevitable collape will come during the second half. Fingers crossed for one or three points, though, even if it means a stay of execution for Ince.
rock steady Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 pretty funny commentary. when pedersen hit the bar they described it as a trademark strike.
Bobby G Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Commitment has been impressive. However, I have yet to see more than one or two decent second halves from us, and thats a point that hasnt been picked on too much this season. Liverpool wont play any worse. So it will be important we are ready to deal with it and continue pressing them. Pedersens best match in a long time and he has been working his body off. Andrews had been non-existant until the last 10-15 minutes and he is too lax in his passing that Tugay has bailed him out a couple of times with exquisite first touch control right thereafter. Derbyshire has also been working hard. But the way we are playing we are desperately lacking the quality to play through them, although we are playing well, its not as much in terms of great attacking play as it is in terms of a committed performance.
joey_big_nose Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Vogel is on the bench. I wonder if we will see him on for Andrews?
RoversSG Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 We're finally playing with passion! Love that moment when THREE players rush to tackle babel! Hopefully we continue playing like this for the rest of the game.
Guest Kamy100 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Superb first half, peope here in jack walker are right behind the team. Passion and commitment great, we are much more organized, and very unlucky not to be ahead. Atmosphere is great and thus far the fans are doing us proud. Really hope we see more of the same in the second half. Liverpool look nervous and lacking ideas. Superb first half, peope here in jack walker are right behind the team. Commondore Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 This sounds very much like a 0-1 kind of game with Gerrard scoring in overtime...

ebenrocks Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 more like it. Defence (epecially warnock) are playing well and we're looking good in midfield too. Nice to see 3 players mobbing one liverpool player and the mids helping out in defence a bit. Only problems are up front, nothing happening. Derbyshire is playing really really well but only when he's in midfield. We dont look lke breaking through, but i wonder whether ince will tell peds to try more long shots in the second half. Santa Cruz is doing sweet FA, Benni on for him. Pleased so far but am worried that we'll do our usual and lose it totally in the second half.
FourLaneBlue Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 The best 45 minutes of the season against one of the big four. In fact I think it is the first time we have gone a whole half against one of them without conceding. Good if unspectacular performance shows that we are doing most of the basics right and making it difficult for Liverpool. However they will not play as poorly as that in the second half so we cannot have one of our typical horror shows at the start of the second half. The only clear-cut chance created so far was when Gerrard played a through-ball which easily bypassed a totally static Nelsen for Benayoun to run onto. Only a great tackle from Warnock kept us level. Other than that I can only remember a speculative Gerrard drive from well outside the area. Worryingly we created even less ourselves. The one noteworthy attempt from MGP was a result of a Gerrard error. We are playing too many long balls and lack mobility. The great improvement however is that our midfield seems less detached from either defence or attack so far. We do have to stop keep giving the ball away so much. Balls over the top into nobody do not help and invite the pressure back on. Robinson also sent forward a couple of kicks which ended up straight back with Reina. We cannot afford to give the ball back moments after relieving the pressure. Especially as Liverpool already have the lion´s share of possession. However...so far so good.
ebenrocks Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Emerton is looking totally out of his depth though. Shows how much we need a right mid.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Pedersen who has been immense is going off, picked up a knock. Treacy coming on.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Gerrard with too much time and space on the ball is always going to create something.
BRFC1995 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 that'll be a 1/4 of the season without a win then.........and it goes on.
