Lurid Coat Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Keane is almost as @#/? as Ince, having wasted £80 m on absolute dross and achieved absolutely zip all in the process. Stay well clear! Hope Sunderland don't go for BFS....
CrazyIvan Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Seems a strange move ..............anyone wanna swap ince for keane? Yes please Rather poke my eyes out with a sharp stick.
dopper69 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Rather poke my eyes out with a sharp stick. Me too. How much has he spent at Sunderland? 80million?
joey_big_nose Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Yup. I think I prefer Ince to Keane. Keane's teams look disjointed, and although he has bought a few decent players (Jones, Cisse, Richardson, Malbranque, Gordon) he has spent a lot of it on dross. And he plays pretty poor football. BFS could be flush with suitors....
T4E Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Keane is the only Prem manager I'd want less than Ince. He is woeful.

LeChuck Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Damn, there goes my bet on Ince to be the next to go.
grizfoot Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 God no he's even worse than Ince. At least Keane's done the honourable thing and admitted by leaving that he's been rubbish and wasted a lot of money on signings.

Hope Sunderland don't go for BFS.... Most people wouldn't call promotion and Premiership survival 'zip all'. Having said that, there's no way I'd want him at this club. Like Ince, he's managed to get a decent managerial job far above what he's qualified for on the back of his playing career. It can't be long before clubs stop experimenting with big name players as managers...just like the trend for player-managers died out. Edit: It'll be interesting to see who they get in up there. There aren't many decent mangers around, by acting before us they could take away one of the good options available to us. Or, on the other hand, they could make another Howard Wilkinson appointment.
RoverRich Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Lets hope Ince follows Keano's example and leaves soon!
Hughesy Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Keane is rubbish - we dont want him, no way! He has blasted mega money and is always falling out with players. Leave him well alone! Mick McCarthy to Sunderland?
Bobby G Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Good shout about McCarthy with the Irish connection! But cant see him leaving Wolves now...
LeChuck Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 McCarthy not only has an Irish connection, he has a Sunderland connection! I doubt he'll be going back there for a second, very few managers do it. My guess would be Big Sam or someone like David O'Leary.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 If Sunderland do get somebody decent in they've got the players to get out of trouble.
John Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Not ideal news, because it means one of our rivals for the drop could see an improvment in their fortunes.
martmitch Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 does anyone know if he left or was sacked, couldn't be sure from the news reports.. if he left kudos to keane for not doing the normal undignified 'wait to be sacked' so hes gets a contract payout.
CrazyIvan Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 It sounds like he wouldn't sign the new contract as he didn't agree with the terms - therefore he walked. Can we do that to Ince?
Amo Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Could be bad news for Rovers, as Sunderland may limit our options even more should Ince go. But yeah, I wouldn't have Keane at all. He's spent a helluva lot of money and buckled under the pressure.
hollowsr Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I think the best bit about Keane leaving is the fact that Dwight Yorke is assisting the caretaker manager! And we thought we had it bad here at Rovers.
roverfanuk Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Here's a thought for everyone to chew on. Sunderland have a good squad, and they are our main rivals down the bottom right now. If they bring in a new experienced manager and they start getting results. They could start to pull away from us quite quickly. Bearing in mind they have had the decision taken we haven't got the guts to do...
yellowsubmarine Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I really hope the Black Cats will come and poach Ince away from us! They will have a happy manager who has money to spend, we have compensation money and a new manager!
107 Codf Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Lets hope they go for an Archie Knox/Ray Mathias combination at the helm of Sunderland so at least we can bring in some experienced and good quality individuals to help Incey out! I'm still positive he can do it he just needs more guidance
roverfanuk Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 My money is on Sam Allardyce, Avram Grant or SGE becoming the next Sunderland boss...
