I thought that was positive.

Exactly nodrog, I think the best line in there or certainly the most pleasing line to hear was that there was something missing which he thought had been there previously. Maybe he has finally seen what most of us have seen at least since Sunderland.

I think Ince will get the chance to resign at this meeting today for his own reputation. I expect an announcement to be made indicating either a) mutual consent or B) Ince resigns after fans turn on him. I don't think they will sack him outright unless he, Ince, truly believes all of his own excuses and demands another chance and they obviously have no other choice but to sack him.

Would be interesting to hear if Nicko or anyone else knows what's going on today regarding meetings, decisions etc.??

I've avoided this site for a week. I will be glad when this episode is finally over, much as I honestly think Ince WILL make a damn good manager in time this is not the place or the time for him to be in the Premier League and it has to be time for the board to act.

Just had the joy of watching another Paul Ince interview on Rovers World (hopefully the last).

Highlights:

1) We are conceding too many goals this season, but this was also a problem for us last season. He mentioned that Wigan scored 5 against us last season (great excuse).

2) He could not understand the result as the signs were there after the Liverpool game - have I missed something in this bloody Liverpool game. He keeps referring to it as if we beat them and won a trophy in the process. We conceded 3 goals at home and lost the match.

3) Finally, he was asked where do we go after this result? He said "hard to say at this moment in time".

I agree. He needs time to get experience but we don't have the time to give him, so it's best he departs. I think he'll go on to become a good manager.

No news as yet.

There is a meeting scheduled, so it's a wait and see job.

Yesterday was a 'dead' day because the chairman was away.

However the feelings were so high after the game on Saturday that it was heading only one way...

The snag remains - do they agree on a successor?

Only 2 decisions to make JW:

1: Fire Ince and the backroom staff

2: Appoint BFS as new Rovers manager

I think BFS is the only man who can dig us out of this hole now.In the summer there was talk of us having a chance of cracking the top 4 with rumours of a £20m+ budget (all seems a long time ago now).At the time i didn`t think BFS was the man for us but at the moment things are so dire, the board and most of the fans (including myself!) have to take a whopping big bite of humble pie and try to persuade BFS to be our new manager.

This course of action needs to be done by the weekend, because if we don`t,we might miss the boat as far as BFS is concerned, and in all honesty there isn`t another manager available that can do what needs to be done.

Against the grain,I am one of the few who still say back pending what good signings can be made in January.and how we go from there.. I believe that his patch up team of old pal coaching staff are the ones at fault and for his own sake needs to look at them than remain loyal ..

Just for time purposes, do you know when the meeting is scheduled? On another note, do you not think the club will sack Ince and put in place a caretaker?

Apart from the three mentioned, Curbs, Sourness and Sam, do you know of any other interest? Coyle seems to be getting a few mentions, but I somewhat doubt that one.

I think it will be a short-term appointment which rules out Owen...and may even rule out Sam...and Curbs.

if we wait till january, we will be already down with Ince in charge. His signings in the summer have not really made any difference to the team have they, so what makes you think he will do better in January. Sorry to late, need him out now !!!!

I just heard the word 'early' with the meeting - and I think there will be a manager rather than a caretaker if the axe falls.

The Wigan game was the biggest in your recent history.

I don't know what that makes the Stoke match.

'Must-win-or-chuck-it' springs to mind.

Cheers Nicko, does make me worry though with the line 'if the axe falls'. I seriously couldn't imagine our board being able to appoint another manager in a day. Other boards yes, but not ours unfortunately. Looking bad at this stage I imagine.

You think he has the Stoke match then?

This is getting dragged out now.
