Sad but inevitable. I wish Ince well no matter what anybody else says. I hope he makes it somewhere else, I think he will.

Having said that, thank god that episode is behind us. Let them get someone in who can turn this damn season around!!!

It was always going to be a massively difficult task to follow Mark Hughes, who had us overperforming for a number of years (if we're honest). I don't think Paul Ince ever really looked comfortable - but there's no reason to think he can't become a great manager in the future. Whoever takes the reigns temporarily while the board assemble another shortlist has a motivational task to get the players up for the Stoke game - it's a must-win fixture. I guess we'll then see what happens in the transfer window - any comings or goings will be the key to the rest of our season.

I would hope they have talked to the potential replacement especially since they didnt even mention who would be taking charge for Saturday...

Allardyce would have to take a huge gamble to reject us if we approach him cause the Sunderland job may pass him by. Similar situation to Hughes in the summer...

Overperforming. Never quite sure how anyone can overperform. Absolutely certain people can underperform.

Playing better than you're capable of? How can that happen. - It can't, can it!

Never a truer word spoken. If you've done it, you're capable of it. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I think we will make a move for Allardyce but he will turn us down as he wants the Sunderland job.

That leaves Souness...

I wish Sunderland would hurry up and appoint someone else - then we can snap big Sam up. He's the perfect man to bring in for a club like us - particularly in our current position.

I'm not sure Allardyce would flat turn the job down. He seems eager for a return to management and the Sunderland board are seeking overseas managers. If the board wanted him then they could offer him certain assurances about transfers and transfer budgets to get him in.

Sad for things to end this way, but there was really no choice.

What has Ince actually got right since he's been here?

Signings? Okay, he hasn't had much money - but Andrews and Fowler? I'd rather have had nothing at all. Jury's still out on Villanueva.

Tactics? Nope, we've tried to play free flowing football which the players aren't comfortable with and which causes sides like Arsenal and United to tear us apart. We've also played players out of position constantly, even though there is no need for it.

Substitutions? Nope.

Media Interviews? Absolutely dreadful, one of the worst managers I have ever seen in front of a camera. Inspired nothing but fury from me.

Just not good enough for the Premiership yet, I wish him well for the future.

Or Houllier, or Curbs, or Keegan, or Jones, or, or, or...

Point being it could be anyone couldn't it!

Remember in the not too distant past when we was managerless, no-one would have predicted Ince being the Rovers manager would they, well I am taking that line of thought now, no-one will know who is going to be the manager until the announcement is made.

Let's just hope that whoever it is it will be the right person for the job and we will get ourselves out off the sh1t we are in at the mo.
