Disregarding Ince's woeful media skills - I watched his interview after the Wigan game and my jaw dropped - he has always come across as honest (although I reckon naieve would be a better description, if I could spell it). It will be interesting to hear from him what he thinks about his short spell in charge of Rovers. Wonder if he feels he got the support from the board? The players? Will he confess to being out of his depth?

souness can get lost. anyone who wants him back must have forgotted the state he left us in.

bfs is probably smarting from being overlooked in the summer and playing hard to get. probably fishing for a better package. fingers crossed we can give it him and we can learn to defend again, and be hard to play against, just as we had to last time around.

I sort of agree, I also remember having Andy Cole and Sukur upfront against Fulham in 2003 and it was the best I had seen Blackburn since 1995, I wish we could start agasin from there.

it did all fall apart though

I'd like him back. Yes it went pear shaped towards the end of his reign but he will sort them out! If the unthinkable happened, I'd be confident he would get us back up as he knows what it takes.

Well, the list of people interested in the Sunderland job appears very impressive, I can't imagine that the same group wouldn't be interested in Rovers.

This last 6 months has raised serious questions over how this club is being run:

1) Why we gave one of the most attractive jobs going in the summer to a relatively unproven and certainly unqualified candidate purely because of what he achieved and who he was as a player. In the process we passed up several qualified, experienced and well-connected candidates.

2) Why, if we chose to go the route of handing the job to an unqualified candidate who was unlikely to get any other premiership job for the time being, did we not play hard-ball and have very specific clauses in his contract regarding termination.

If we choose to go the short-term route at this point or to try out another unqualified and inexperienced ex-player simply because he could score goals or run a midfield then we need to take a long hard look at who is actually making the decisions at Blackburn Rovers.

Two good points. The reason I thought they went for Ince was due to being impressive in interviews. IE he had a sensible and sophisticated plan to progress the club over several seasons. I stand by the fact that lack of experience can be overcome by intelligent planning and methods - indeed that is how Hughes did so well.

But I just cannot see how Ince will have come across as a capable manager in the boardroom that day. I am not talking about his poor presentation skills, although they couldn't help - but rather that it seems he had no real plan. Staff was cobbled together (Winterburn? Daft), no scouting network, no tactical organisation, no application of modern training methods. He always seemed like he was winging it.

For the love of God whoever we interview needs to be examined closely to make sure they are sure of how they are going to apply a roadmap to Rovers, and how they are going to drill the team. Having an existing staff who they have a good and developed understanding with is also vital. JW don't get it wrong - he has to take a lot of responsibility for the situation we find ourself in, capable man though he seems to be.

Put Andrews in your suitcase Incey as you pack your bags........got to be your worst decision or was it Fowler or................ ?

Well I would say Fowler was much much worse. Andrews looked average for most games initially but has had a shocker in the last month. Fowler has to be one of the most pointless signings ever.

The Shearer rumours have started on SSN, repoter said he heard the rumours saturday night and again this morning from reputable folk in football

Only that halfwit newcastle supporting, i'd die for the north east, David Craig associated shearer. Any one with half a brain knows 100% any shearer link to us is garbage.

Sad to see Ince go but the right decision has been made.

Replacements? I said it in the summer that Laudrup was the right man, he wanted the job but the board went for Ince. He is now in employment (in Moscow) but may find the lure of the Premiership very tempting if the board were to approach him.

Too late for dreaming now. We need a strong man and a true leader.
