Too late for dreaming now. We need a strong man and a true leader.

True BUT a calm and methodical (ala Laudrup) approach would also work.

Overperforming. Never quite sure how anyone can overperform. Absolutely certain people can underperform.

Playing better than you're capable of? How can that happen. - It can't, can it!

Individually you can't over perform but a team can overperform in that playing together you can produce better results than anyone would expect if you just looked at the individual players. For example, few of the Hull players would get into top half team but together they are getting better results than other teams in the top half. They are out performing the expectations you would have if you saw the squad written down. That's what we've been doing for the last few years. Now we've lost that team ethic and so we're looking as poor as the individual players are, rather than as strong as the team can be.

I'm not sure Allardyce would flat turn the job down. He seems eager for a return to management and the Sunderland board are seeking overseas managers. If the board wanted him then they could offer him certain assurances about transfers and transfer budgets to get him in.

Prior to Ince being appointed Rovers had a number of applications for the job - very easy for a team that had finished 7th in the prem. It will be interesting to know what applications come in now that rovers are in the bottom 3. We will soon see who really wants to job.

Would go along with that. One of problems at the Whammers seemed to be their 'billy-big-shoes' attitude. Rovers haven't really got that so he could do well. Ultimately it's probably between Curbs or BFS.

Rovers are simular in some ways to Charlton Athletic - interesting when he left Charlton, they were relegated. Though I stand to be corrected on that part. But does he get the best out of the players he has at his disposal. Souness has a tendency to upset players - Rovers best player against Wigan was Dunn - if Souness came in Dunn would probable leave!!!!!

Huge media backlash so far and its going to build and build. I just wish they would use their brains and realise the situation we are in and what relegation would mean to a club like ours.

Good! Stuff em! If we'd been relegated they would have said we should have sacked him. Thats how clever those bguggers are. Have any of them bstrds actually applauded us for giving him the chance in the first place?

Fact is the performances and the results were just going worse and worse and worse week by week. And that is undeniable. We should all be emailing that single sentence for all we are worth to the assorted press and media.

Its interesting that so many of these media clowns, wanted him to keep his job. They dont support Rovers, they dont care about Rovers like us fans. So if we got relegated theyg will move on,and we as fdans will haver to suffer. So (Please don't use that word again) this backlash,we move on and we move upwards. C‘mon you blues

Disregarding Ince's woeful media skills - I watched his interview after the Wigan game and my jaw dropped - he has always come across as honest (although I reckon naieve would be a better description, if I could spell it). It will be interesting to hear from him what he thinks about his short spell in charge of Rovers. Wonder if he feels he got the support from the board? The players? Will he confess to being out of his depth?

To be honest I place little blame at Ince's feet. Sure he was out of depth and lacked the charisma or ability to drag us from a slump, but the powers that be at the club should shoulder most of the blame. The appointment of Ince was their decision and the nadir in an increasingly disturbing line of small-time thinking. If we go down, they will rightfully be deemed responsible.

Where is this huge media backlash RVR? Can you provide links?

Maybe I over exaggerated "huge", but look at the Sports News channels, all saying he needed more time. Check out some of the general football forums without club affiliation all saying he needs more time. The LMA coming out supporting Ince and Talksport doing a phone in now talking about this I quote “setting back black managers”.

Wait until later today or tomorrow when Darren Lewis?, Oliver Holt and others get their chance to vent their fury.

I have spoken to fans from other clubs, friends and they all reckon we have sacked him too early.
