Rovermatt
I have spoken to fans from other clubs, friends and they all reckon we have sacked him too early. It's not their clubs that he was guiding to relegation. How his race can overshadow his horrendous record is beyond me. A cynic would suggest that many wish to see the back of Rovers and Ince's obvious inadequacies very much suited that agenda.
ribblevalleyblue
Maybe I over exaggerated "huge", but look at the Sports News channels, all saying he needed more time. Check out some of the general football forums without club affiliation all saying he needs more time. The LMA coming out supporting Ince and Talksport doing a phone in now talking about this I quote “setting back black managers”. Wait until later today or tomorrow when Darren Lewis?, Oliver Holt and others get their chance to vent their fury. I have spoken to fans from other clubs, friends and they all reckon we have sacked him too early. we have only sacked him too early in these media parasites eyes because they felt they had a few more weeks of further stories and talk shows to fill, in which they could talk us into getting him sacked ! I have spoken to fans from other clubs, friends and they all reckon we have sacked him too early. So what is their reasoning? Have they watched all the matches since he came? Have they seen the league table? More probably, rather than actually supporting Paul, they want us relegated. If Paul could keep us in the Prem no problem, he could have all the time he wanted. As that was seeming more and more unlikely, the Board had no choice. Best wishes to Paul, but he had to go. Running before he could walk and all that sort of stuff. But they are pretty much stupid arguments, would he have been given more time at any other club or even a bigger club? Lets say Chelsea/ United etc, he would have gone a lot sooner. And the whole thing about setting back black managers is a load of ######, if there is a black manager out there that is good enough then it wont even matter! jodrell
I found this in the Daily Telegraph OK he has played the least games but if he had continued who knows http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-Paul-Ince.html * Ince has the worst win percentage of any Blackburn manager in the Premier League
Roaming Rover
Not happy with the news. Sure Ince had to go, and I have backed him right upto the Wigan game, but the fact we have sacked him means our beloved club is in trouble. That is not good news. Hopefully a new man will lead us up the table, but I think the whole Ince episode has show cracks at the club which were covered up by Hughes success. If we were sturggling a bit but picking up a win here and there, and 5th or 6th from bottom then maybe Ince shopuld have been given more time. However we are stuck in the bottom 3 needing more than 1 win to pull us to safety and no sign of that win coming. The board had no choice but to let Ince go IMO. I was just pointing out we are going to get some serious flack from the media.
BrianPotter
Stuff the media, we always get stick from them no matter what we do. In there eyes we can do nothing right so best to take no notice of them. Its easy for people to say give him more time when its not their club that's going down the toilet. Approaching christmas and six points off safety is a perilous position and the board had to act accordingly - there simply was no more time for Ince to get things right. Whilst I think it is sad that it didnt work out with Ince the board have made the right decision. For me, it wasnt so much the result at Wigan it was the performance that showed he had to go. We didnt look like a team fighting for our lives, nor did the players look like they were fighting for the managers job. I was one of those that said we had to support him and give him a chance when he joined, but as time went on I have to admit I was wrong. The way he came across to the media always worried me - it just seemed as though he was out of his depth. Even his comments after the Wigan game I found strange - it was almost as though he couldn't admit anything was wrong. At the end of the day, minus Bentley and Friedel (who we replaced with an Engalnd international keeper) we have the same sqaud as last season so for me the ability of the playing squad is not in question. OK, under MH the team maybe punched above their weight a little, but under ince we looked like amateur flyweights fighting at proffessional heavy weight! The only difference from last season is the managment and coaching staff so that must be where to problem lies. Glad the board saw sense and acting now before it was too late (hopefully!) Majiball
Sorry given the absolutly shocking media coverage of our acctual games, I could only have assumed the rest of the nation was having a giant sweepstake to see how long they could keep him in the job. I can't believe anyone who's been going and watching what we have had too could honestly think the club have done wrong here. He more than had a fair crack of the whip, how many other clubs would have kept a man in charge with a 3 in 36 record, 5 points adrift at the bottom. Its shocking, last season by now we had had 4 sackings no-one said they weren't given enough time, load of tosh.

Another glaring stat is that we have conceded 34 goals in 17 permier league games, thats relegation form.
RevidgeBlue
Very sad but he had to go, personally I would have done it after the United Cup game giving us a better chance of something at Wigan in all likeliehood. I know we couldn't have carried on like we were, but even so I can't get in the least bit elated about today's news. I'm too busy crapping myself at the prospect of Souness coming in and finishing off the job he nearly managed last time he was here......................... den
Individually you can't over perform but a team can overperform in that playing together you can produce better results than anyone would expect if you just looked at the individual players. We will just have to disagree GB. Again IMO, a team can underperform, but they can't perform better than what they're capable of. That's plain impossible. Under Hughes the team attained it's highest potential, - did it under Ince?
Iceman
Its not that we didnt want to give Ince more time, its that we couldnt afford to give him more time. Its so easy for other fans to say, we should have given him more time. However the sad reality is that, looking at the league table, poor performances, team selections, formations, signings and poor selection in back room staff, you just could not ignore the mess. Add that to the poor interviews, lack of motivation and no idea to improve things, you just knew that his time was up.

Well apart from the fact we were plummeting headlong towards the Championship with a team that wouldn't have looked out of place in Dad's Army and he nearly brought the Club to its knees with his transfer dealings, his last 18 months were great! Atty
I knew since the united game at ewood I Knew after Pre-season I know you cant judge after pre-season but just had an feeling that something was not right !!!! He should never have even got the job in the first place so a lot of the blame has to go with the board or JW. Onwards and hopefully upwards this is one of the biggest ever manager appointments. For me its BIG FAT SAM BLUE AND WHITE ARMY In the summer I suggested Phil Brown and was shocked he was not even on the list. Stuart Pearce might be worth a bet with some good coaching staff as he highly regarded in the England setup.
