Strong rumour in Blackburn is that its a 'two man' team coming in to replace Ince and they were actually at the Wigan game anybody see anyone out of the ordinary at the game on saturday ?

Bruce and his assistant ?

Tbh can't see that "rumour" being strictly correct, any potential new manager attending Saturday's game would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

Regarding Ince's response, I'm sure he'll come out sooner or later and say the club didn't provide the "financial clout" to support him, we were one game away from turning it around etc etc.

There's no excuse when you take a top ten side into the mire. Ince should be honest enough to admit the job was too big for him - but he won't.

Wasn't Tugay on the pitch though?

So that means he was at the game then.

The source wouldnt say who they are as they'd be sacked by the club Rev.

It's funny how The Mail, always a fairly negative paper towards Rovers, had this story nailed. The rumours of unrest in the squad, of the board being split over Ince and things of that nature have all been put forward by this paper. They had this story spot on. The only reason I can think of for that is that someone high up within Rovers, probably at board level, was speaking to the journalist directly. Were all of these stories correct? Having this story so nailed on suggests so but also suggests that whoever the person is speaking to the Mail isn't an Ince fan, wasn't an Ince fan and has done some significant talking behind the scenes. I am not suggesting that this is the reason for the abject failure on Ince's reign as manager in the slightest, that record has to be held by Ince, his staff and the players. I doubt it helped mind you.

Thoughts anyone?

I won't forget it either. I bet Mr Ince won't be making a crack like that again!

Well my friend, the journalist in question lives close to Brockhall.

I have no contact with that journo but I knew quite a bit of what was going on under Ince and it was completely and utterly horrific virtually from his first day with the Rovers.

Nothing more to be said until enough time has passed and the agreed terms of separation with all concerned are solidly agreed and effective.

King Kenny talking a lot of sense.

Souness and Tugay on a short term contract?

I was lucky enough to watch the game against Liverpool in the corporate area as my firm had sponsored the match ball - and Derek Faz was the host during the game. He said that Colin Hendry (who was sat with John Williams during the match) and Tugs would be involved in part of the replacement team.

So your saying the rumours of player unrest was true and david dunn was lying when he said the players backed the manager?

It`s always a sad day when a club has to sack its manager. I do hope that JW did it sensibly and rationally. It was inevitable after Saturday`s performance that the players had lost so much confidence in their ability to turn the game round.

I hope we are not faced with hundreds of posts now all offering their choice of next manager and giving advice to JW as to what he should do.

The names banded around now have all experienced the sack in the past so its not looking too good at the moment.

Interesting...

I wouldn't be against Big Col and Tugs as part of the coaching staff, if either became the manager i would be seriously concerned.

Between Hughesy and PhilpL who needs papers these two have more inside souces than any journalist ever could.

Errrr.......... right.

I think you missed the rolling eyes smilie out of your post.

It would be quite bonkers as both have less experience than Ince.

CH has already also had an extremely unsuccessful try at management as well hasn't he?

It will be interesting now Ince has gone if any of the players will come out and back up the stories from the mail.

There's no smoke without fire.

Its going to be VERY interesting indeed,I think the knives will come out if not for Ince, then for his backroom staff and their training methods <_< ...right from day one there have been story's of unrest within the camp.

Just SO GLAD this fiasco is over and we can all concentrate on supporting the club as one again. To see fans arguing and fighting was doing real damage.

The coaching, preparation and tactical nouse of Ince, Mathias and Knox was clearly not of Premier League standard.

Thinking back to some of our other managers heading for the sack, players at the time were obviously not putting it in for the boss, but I didn't see this in Ince's case.

The were not sent out in a condition or with the instructions to carry out on the pitch which would get them results.

The same defensive mistakes were made over and over and nothing was done to rectify them.

Set pieces which other poor teams in the league have profited from have been woeful, both in an attacking and defending sense.

Make no mistake, we do not have a good squad of players, but are they any worse than Stoke, WBA, Sunderland, Hull, Fulham?
