Wouldn't be a bad appointment in my opinion, cost a bit in compo mind you, but still I reckon he'd be worth it.

I think the dingles pay them in brown bread and dripping.

Where did that Souey / Shearer rumour come from? Why would have four months and Blackburn being in a far worse situation change Shearer's mind? Also surely if he fancied learning the trade he would be in Newcastle by now?

Also this is an extremely depressing bet to find but shows just how dire our situation has become:

SSN just had a quote from Curbishley basically saying he would be interested, which tells me so far there is no contact and he wont be the man coming in.

Souness just spoke to SkySports reps. He has NOT heard anything official from Rovers.

Neither has Curbs who has declared his interest...

Very silent from BFS's camp though...

Still think Avram Grant could be a dark horse in this race...

I think with Williams saying that the next manager is likely to be installed for Saturday suggests that it is someone available...as in not currently at a club and it has already been agreed in principal.

The impact (and feeling of delight) of Ince leaving is now wearing off.

I am starting to get bloody nervous about this. Maybe it is the fact that we seem in a rush, but it is so important we get this right.

Ok, none of them maybe seem that se*y, but there are a few options out there for us.

2.Souness/Tugay.

I think it will come down to one of these options.

Allardyce you would think would be the first choice and Souey will be the short term backup option.

My gut feeling Is that Allardyce will turn it down and Souey will take it.
