Is it my imagination or does Sam have a look on his face at the end of this video when they are talking about Zaki like, "you have no idea how special what we have lined up is"... Or is it me being silly. The grin on his face...

Think you're being over imaginative. He's just amused at being asked about lazy journalism that links us to anyone and everyone who might be vaguely within our possibilities.

Pretty much how I saw it too. I have no idea how we can have anyone lined up without having sold Roque first, or at least having an agreement in place. The best we can do is scout players in advance and maybe get an idea of how much they'd cost.

Surely it's a case of the press going to him? I doubt he thinks "I want out...I must tell the Paraguayan media!". He's their biggest sports star so he'll obviously get a lot of requests to do interviews, and being injured he will have had more time to do them. His mistake is not saying "no comment" or something along those lines.

I think it would show a massive amount of disrespect for him not to turn up at all, I don't believe for a minute he'll do that. It's not like he was kicking and screaming in January, because he easily could have done, and lots of other foreign players would. It would be a huge, huge shame if it's presence spoiled what should be Tugay's day. Just ignore RSC.

You`re right, his only mistake is not saying "no comment"when they want to know what happens..but the main reason for the interviews is always about the Albirroja,if he will be fit to play the next matches on 6. and 10.next month..

He looks decent. But I dont see much difference from the videos we saw before Villanueva's arrival.

IMO Carlos should have stayed on at the right price, but since he ddint I cant see this Hazard fellow doing any better.

Some fancy foot work, which we lack, but clearly easily outmuscled, which we dont need.

I would be the first to admit Im wrong though

Carlos didint have the pace to pull away from the tackles

can anyone hand on heart with the most rose tinted glasses and optimistic nature see him playing even 10 games next season without rupturing/tearing/pulling/breaking something.

Probably not. But then who would have thought Nelsen would have missed just two PL games this year after his hamstring fell off?

Nicko if you are about is there any truth in Sam Allardyce looking at Kevin Kuranyi - been linked a few times to him.

It's a possible but there will be a queue.

The target you are working on is better anyway...

What's the likelihood, in your opinion Nicko, of us pulling this mystery deal off? If you had to put money on it - will it happen...?

I'm absolutely convinced it's Bojan. I have no basis for it whatsoever besides blind faith and optimism. Anyway, this isn't the guesswork thread, I suppose.

I feel it too! I daren't believe it!

Is daren't a word!?

kevin kurayni in my opinion would be a top buy..ive been impressed when ever ive seen him-and id imagine he wouldnt cost alot either...

we need a good 2-3 strikers next season if santa cruz and derbyshire go, maybe buying kurayni and whoever this player nicko is on about is what we need..

Can you at least give us his age range within 4 years? It wont tell us who it is, but at least we will be able to discuss whether it will bring some youth and pace to the team, or experience...

You must be easily impressed. He's just a better looking Jason Roberts.

I wonder what was the outcome of the meeting Sam had with the board earlier in the week, re his transfer budget.

If he's saying he will be happy if no one hit's the magical figure RSC contract, you would have to assume he's been given some amount to play with. The players we are looking to offload will just about pay for Givet.

The striker you are after is a 'before Roque goes' deal...not an 'after Roque goes deal.'

It won't break the bank, it is within the budget and it is pretty imaginative.

It has stayed quiet so far and needs to stay that way for a wee bit longer.

There could be other things going on, but this one looks the furthest down the road of any potential deal.
