Mafioso Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Most 18 year olds are easily out-muscled. Hazard is a talent he already has 30+ app's for Lille, he'd also be home grown by 21 (possibly) if we signed him this year. I'd be very happy if this was true. Most skinny girly 18 year olds are easily out muscled. There are the very rare exceptions though... Richards, Anderson, Wheater, Rooney (at 16), Bendtner... the list just goes on

imy9 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 The striker you are after is a 'before Roque goes' deal...not an 'after Roque goes deal.' It won't break the bank, it is within the budget and it is pretty imaginative. It has stayed quiet so far and needs to stay that way for a wee bit longer. There could be other things going on, but this one looks the furthest down the road of any potential deal. Excited by this, thanks Nicko.
Jeru tha Damaja Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I wonder what was the outcome of the meeting Sam had with the board earlier in the week, re his transfer budget. If he's saying he will be happy if no one hit's the magical figure RSC contract, you would have to assume he's been given some amount to play with. The players we are looking to offload will just about pay for Givet. The Santa Cruz comment wasn't designed to say anything about our capacity in the transfer market, it was a statement to his suitors that we won't be allowing him to leave on the cheap. When a player has acted in the way that Roque has for the majority of this season it tends to be to the detriment of his value, so Allardyce needed to make sure everyone else knows we still mean business and don't intend to budge from the price we were asking in January.

I like it Nicko does say it has stayed quiet though which could rule out any hopes of it being Bojan.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Nicko does say it has stayed quiet though which could rule out any hopes of it being Bojan. That's obviously the after Roque goes deal!
The Rover of Finland Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Only Bojan on loan comes to mind. But it´s no secret we have made an offer. It´s really nice to hear we are looking for striker not depending on Roque´s departure. I just can´t see us getting the fee want of him. Hope I am wrong. Nicko, any news about Finnan or Seitaridis?
andyroversmad Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I wouldnt get too excited about this potential signing If hes that good i doubt he will end up signing for us

Will this be a 1st team player, or a bench warmer with potential ? The word that sticks out for me above, is imaginative - this denote that it is surprising and is coming from left field ? or just an eyebrow raiser as its intuitive thinking :-)

deryck guyler's spoon Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Kevin Davies. Sorry, you said imaginative ! Suggested that in the lusher before the Pompey game. Provoked some chin scratching and soul searching. I reckon he'd be an excellent signing.

Or is a player that will make people say "who" ?
AJW Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 love the way nicko tells us stuff , but there's always more we want to know , young / old? , permanent / loan ? , domestic / foreign? anyone would think he's a trained jurno
Hughesy Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Alfonso Alves anyone? Is that a joke? Or is this thread about players suitable for burnley next season??
Eddie Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Alves has talent, for the right price he could be a great signing for someone.
67splitscreen Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Is it Bao Xishun? no we couldn't get him down the tunnel.
sweet Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Is that a joke? Or is this thread about players suitable for burnley next season?? He has 8 caps for Brazil since 2007! His goal scoring record, for his previous clubs, is brilliant. 103 in 148 appearances.
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 It's not Juan Pablo Ángel is it? I heard he might be wanting a return to England...
thenodrog Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Excited by this, thanks Nicko. You really need to get a life imy.
