Beattie, Philips, Doyle are not of the level which we should be looking at. Im sure Sam knows that and if he is going to sell Roque then he has to look for a much greater level of player than them.

What about McGeady?

McGeady doesn't want to leave Celtic. I don't think he is a Sam type either - good player but a little bit lightweight.

He's an evil, racist thug who should be already spending the rest of his life behind bars like his brother.

Again, I agree with you Jan. We don't need a timebomb in our midfield.

So Nicko, changing topic, any news on who'll be in for the Leeds job? And what is the deal about the Brazilians at Man City? There are some stories being eluded to on the radio, but I didn't catch what they were.

As posted on another thread, one player who is being made available at Villa Park, Nigel reo Coker.

Fallen out with coaches and a player hence him being sidelined.

Hmmmm, didn't he used to play for MK Dons, might have even been captain............ always thought 1864 had a bit of a soft spot for players fitting that description.

Nicko...i know your a busy man at this time of year but can i request the return of 'nickos thread' at some point in the near future. Im also a busy man and that thread used to save me about 2 hours a day :rover:

Gus Poyet seems to be getting a bit of support for Leeds...

Man City is big trouble. Elano was fit and left at home. Ben Haim too, incidentally. Robinho was injured. Jo is just hopeless.

I like footballers that can actually play football. IMo that means a midfielder has to be a midfielder and not a failure or a player that can only run as an attribute :!:

As NRC versus another (remember I have said my piece on him) for a midfield slot, well he can run, tackle, head, score, create and defend and he can do each of these things pretty god damn well.

so to compare the real womble with a effigy of a womble is a nonsense :rolleyes:

Do you know whose decision it was to buy Jo, nicko? The deal seemed to be in place before Hughes arrived...I'm just wondering who they have in a non-footballing role that has the authority to bring in such an expensive signing?

Mind you, Jo when playing alongside Vagner Love was class. I said, Man City bought the wrong one of the 2 though. I think Vagner Love is much much better. Any chance of taking Pavyluchenko on loan,if Roque goes? nicko are spurs going to get rid of Roman Pavyluchenko?

Joorabchian and the Thai Doctor were the brains behind that one along with Pini Zahavi...ah, those were the days.

Spurs would probably sell him, but there isn't exactly a queue forming. I thought he would do better, but it has not worked out.

Same can be said of Bentley.

Stephen Ireland would be a good signing for Rovers from city - especially if the owners want to buy so called big expensive stars.

Interesting that he wants a "sitter", i wonder if Grella's injury is looking more seriousl.

It is daft when we have 4 players whose main job is that role and all, for whatever reason, cannot be relied on - Mokoena, Vogel, Grella and Tugay....

Why doe he want a left-back? Does this mean the loss of Warnock? I'd have thought that, with Olsen as deputy, things were alright there. The position we desperately need to fill is right-wing. Nothing mentioned in that area?

Does anybody still rate,Darius Vassell?

Not better than Roberts. No use for us. If there´s a striker coming he is not English and not playing PL at the moment. Sam used to like Africans at Bolton. I´m surprised there´s no more potential rumours on air.

Suggestions. All Unlikely.

Aiden McGeady would be a major transfer coo! Wonder if Celtic would be interested in a cash plus MGP deal?

James McCarthy(Wonderkid from Hamilton), another Scottish back-stabber, would be another good one. Liverpool have been linked to him for years. Would be a decent right midfield option. Dont know how much he would cost though.

Fred is leaving Lyon as he wants to go back to brazil wonder if he fancies a go at the EPL, would be a decent replacement for RSC. Others Vagner Love,Falcao,Gomez,Owen.

Eboue looks like he might be on the way out at the emirates. Could be a good attacking right back in sam's favourite formation. Athletic, strong and pacey. Onouha would be good too.

Appiah, I know I'm getting boring having gone about him for 6 months. Did the same with Cisse and we well and truly missed that boat.

Speaking about Africans, whatever happened to that Mputu lad? Did he sign for someone in France?

:unsure: ...Mark Hughes :lol::xmas:

As for Kevin Philips, I wouldn't mind him coming in as another option to be honest. His goal at the weekend was a cracker and 11 goals so far from 21 games this season is a very good percentage even though it is the Championship
