Peter Lovendkrands available on a free transfer. Released by Hamburg, currently on trial at Newcastle.

God no. Lovenkrands is useless - the ultimate example of a player who has a decent reputation due to the fact he's fast, wears white boots and sometimes played for Rangers.

If its true he'd be a good replacement for RSC.

Bendtner on the move? £5M

Put him on your wishlist please, Sam.

Bendtner is almost as useless as Lovenkrands, no wonder Arsenal want rid. His goals record is terrible.

Thats rather harsh.

I'll agree to disagree, he's come on leaps and bounds considering where he started. the only reason he's available is his falling out with Adebayor, consistency will come with age he's still only 21.

3 years ago he was playing here Kjøbenhavns Boldklub., I've never heard of them either. His loan spell at Birmingham was very impressive Bruce was desperate to keep him.

He may miss oppurtunities but at least he finds himself in those positions in the first place. He's got potential and if given a more prominent role in a team he may flourish. Playing regularly, should also help his goals record he is in and out of the team at Arsenal.

BS, while trawling the web recently I came across a player that fits your criteria for RM, well sort of he can, and does play there, the problem is he has a habit of popping up where the opposition least expect him and scores goals with either foot.

Since his manager has just been sacked his future is unsure at his present club.

I would like him to go to one of Europe's elite so I thought I'd give you first option, his contract is up in the summer so a wedge here or there should get you a good deal, and I need a new Merc by the way.

Super star for BS please

And just to save you time on google, as I know you will be celebrating your terrific win yesterday, here's some snippets.

Yes I know it's youtube, but it's better than that bloody Prozone, and FM 2009, whatever.

OK the guy looks to have a decent touch and ball skills; also he can cut in from the right and score with his left peg which is a plus. But I must say that in each of those U-Tube shots the defending was attrocious! I am quite sure that even now in my mid-70's I could score those same goals if the defenders stood so far off me.

Get your own scouts then. :P He's good enough for my team, mind so was Pineapple head. :tu:

Giles Barnes maybe worth monitoring again.

Got a good right foot on him and with him just coming back from injury, we will probably start to hear his name much more over the next 12 months.

It seems that Barnes gets built up as a future talent then he suffers a serious injury, he recovers shows some glimpses of his talent and gets another injury. It's like a perpetual cycle.

If his injury plagued days are behind him he could become a very good player, he has the talent without question.

Does or did Sam Allardyce ever really have £5m to spend on bringing someone in during this transfer window, or was it all wishfull thinking on behalf of some supporters. Looks like Sams only interested in loans deals. :(

1. He's not going to come out and say that he has money to spend. It makes it more difficult to sign people (look at city). That has been our club policy ever since the end of the true Walker era, even when we've actually had reasonable amounts to spend.

2. There clearly aren't a ton of quality players available, which is true virtually every January transfer window, so it was unlikely that we would ever make a load of signings.

3. No point upsetting the current batch of players by saying that they all need to be replaced.

4. No point in getting the supporters hopes up by promising the world and then end up not being able to finish the deals off (look at city).

The smart thing to do is to just say that we are looking at the market and will make any deals that we think are very good for the club, which is pretty much what he has said. Why would you say anything else?

He might be available on the cheap especially if Derby were to go down. I wouldn't mind seeing Barnes coming to us.

Very much agree with lots that have been said, to change too much personell at this stage would not be wise, Sam and the squad need to know each other, we cant take risks, loans save the cash and as Sam has said he is looking for one quality signing, thats wise, as for RM just who is available better than we have at the club??

Kightley aint gonna move, Diouff would have been an option but he isnt moving!!

There are not many around, not good ones ready to step into the premiership anyway.

I trust Sam here and we should not be too critical as he is looking after this club and we are very fortunate to have him in this situation, he knows the score and will do what he thinks is best.

Admittedly still a few days to go, but this has been a desperately depressing window from a Rovers perspective - the most exciting player we've been linked with is Spit the Diouf.

Now it seems we're merely scratching about for a bit of back up in the loans market - on the same day newly promoted Hull invest 5m in proven Premiership quality in Bullard plus another 2.5m on a second player.

Last 3 windows:

Savage out 1.5m.

No-one in. (Vogel in on a free after the window shut)

Bentley + Friedel out c 17.5m

Robinson and Grella in c 7m

Carlos/Simpson on loans

Young kid from Macclesfield in

Givet in on loan

Hmmmph.

Excellent post. Perhaps the Trustees may like to study it and reflect on our current predicament.

This is certainly frustrating. Nicko reckons we have nine million to buy players (wages plus transfer fees) as Givet is costing around a million in wages and fees. Plus we have 15 million in the offing for Cruz.

On top of all of that we have quite a few players who clearly have very little future at the club who need to be offloaded - Mokoena, Vogel, Gallagher, I would argue Derbyshire.

We need to definately get in a right winger, maybe a right back, a central player (if Dunn and Grella cannot stay fit) and a striker (if Cruz goes). Where is the movement!

a right winger and a central-mid is the bare minimum that we need. We have to get someone for those two positions, even if it means taking another chance on relatively unknown players.
